The setting is a quaint town of Rosebud, where three lovely sisters who own a shop called, Pinkadillys Books, Trinkets and Treasures that tourists and the towns people love to stop by and make purchases. The sisters get caught up in a mystery involving a pink opal and a gentlemen. Things start to get really strange, with ghosts and mysterious dreams they try to solve. This is the third book I've read from the author and I can say if you haven't read any of her books you should give this one and others a chance. ...more

As the story goes Hope has a very promising job in New York and likes her life fine until she inherits a house from a relative she's never known. The inheritance is in a special place that's secretly hidden from the world that is magical with beings that are not like regular humans. The inheritance comes with a few exceptions and requirements, but it may not be easy for her to make that choice of having a much different life than the one she's been living. If she chooses to except her destiny she was meant to have, it will come with benefits. Whether you read the first or just this one they can stand alone, but of course the story continues with more prophecies from Meg Corbyn the Cassandra sangue, and a more closer friendship between Simon Wolfgard the terra indigene and Meg get a little complicated. Neither are sure about taking the relationship further. As Meg's prophecies are out of control, getting them in her sleep, or accidently cutting herself, the need to cut starts getting worse as the villages outside Lakeside Courtyard are having trouble between humans and others. Crows are being killed and a drug is being made from the blood prophets blood being used among the humans and sold to create havoc between humans and the Others. Simon and the Others want to help find the enemy that is killing and using the female Cassandra sangue blood before it's too late and the villages are wiped out and humans are over taken from the Others who rule over them. Meg's prophecies help Simon and the Others to gain control of the Controllers and the facilities where the blood prophets are held captive. I highly recommend Murder of Crows and I will continue with book 3 of Vision in Silver.

The author draws you in from the beginning in the story with the character Syl from earth and the daughter of Lord Andrus, as she was taken away from her father to another planet to live among and learn from the Sisterhood. She was taken to Marque to keep her away from Paul Kerr, for they had strong feelings for each other. Syl is an illyri and Paul was human which was forbidden among the two beings. Syl misses her home on earth and the life she used to have and is forced to learn the ways of the Sisterhood that she despises and doesn't trust. She is like the others that are gifted with powers, but hides them from the Sisterhood. Paul and his brother are resistant fighters aboard the Envion ship with a group of others that land on a planet named Torma. They found platforms and bases setup, but no life is present, when they are taken by surprise by alien life of horrifying creatures keep hidden beneath the sands waiting to devour any life that walks. The group struggle and fight for their lives to escape and get back on the Envion and find more danger after another as they travel through wormholes to different planet and galaxies. At times both Syl and Paul think of each other and wish to be together again, but both have a lot to overcome and endure for others to live. Being worlds away seems impossible for Syl and Paul to see eachother again. This story is filled with action, adventure, suspense, mystery, and romance.
