It's hard to say though, because I don't recall the previous books too well. I think Malcolm Gladwell is a fantastic writer, very engaging, and just makes it fun to explore surprising studies. He succeeds in doing that again in this book. There is a coherent theme, and he delivers on providing surprising stories that match the theme. I think the key idea that is presented, which is interesting ways in which underdogs can win, is a fun idea and has lots of applications. There is a lot of criticism in general about the Gladwell books, but I think reading it with a critical eye, and taking the stories at starting points is very worthwhile. Obviously there are many times where "Goliaths" win, and I don't think that undermines the book. I think what he has done is collect some interesting patterns about when the underdog does win, and shows stories of how creativity, and unexpected results come from difficult situations.
I recommend this book. I think the chapters about college science students, and dyslexia may be the most interesting....more
