This epic fantasy adventure is centered around a 15-year-old princess Titania, who is forced to take on the throne after the death of her three brothers. Her father trains her in weaponry, music, books and history making her a well-rounded capable woman. But, when the real calamity hits, he stonewalls his daughter and entrusts his army to trace the enemy. But when the army fails, Titania has to take the responsibility on herself to find this new enemy who is responsible of stealing something very valuable which belongs to her and her father. This is a coming-of-age adventure princess story filled with action, mystery and danger. Titania is a very fiery heroine, though I did feel her character is a bit too mature for the age. The challenges she faces are grave and the obstacles many. The crown comes with a hefty price to pay. How Titania embraces all these challenges forms a very captivating plot and I am looking forward for more of her adventures in the coming books....more

The character of Red comes off as a brave girl, who has just lost her father . She develops a deep bond with Hook in a brief time. In this book, we get to know more about Red ,her encounter with Hook and their journey together into the forest. Red is a fearless girl, who dons a red cloak .She is a hunter who goes into the deep forest to find fur and ash, and trades them to the bartenders and the pirates to get a good price, to feed her family. Red is determined to hunt down her father’s killer , whom the wolves took out. Captain Hook is in search of the Ash, to battle the kraken in the deep seas. Together they journey into the forest and the fairy tale takes a twist such that another fairy tale is introduced in the story. Rapunzel is introduced and their quest together is exciting. Suzanne Lynn has a good knack of creating this fairy tale mashups, each children’s classic blended with another and a fresh perspective given to the characters we have doted since childhood. I have enjoyed reading this Untold Series so far and hope to see more such books in the future.

Then the book jumped straight into action, with a massive heist being planned in Istanbul. Samaar and Alice, Luke’s step daughter join Luke in Istanbul for a restful trip. When Luke was away, Alice befriends a shopkeeper’s assistant. And that night, there is a heist which happens in several shops in Istanbul, including the shop in question. The assistant texts Alice and the Raven group gets involved. The story is action packed and I stayed up late night to finish the book. There is a parallel track on Luke also going on in the book, holding a deep secret by himself, which is equally intriguing. There are lies and twists, action and thrills. Sit back, and enjoy the roller-coaster ride....more

The book’s central character is Captain Shaw, whom we know as the notorious Captain Hook in Neverland. This tale is about the humane side of Captain Hook and what caused him to be the notorious man he is known to be. Captain Hook was a pirate, and was an honest pirate with his heart in the right place. He cared for his crew, and the women who came into his life, even for a brief fling. He begets a son from one such fling, is kept away from him for several years till one day, he is united with him. But his son joins the Lost Boys troop of Peter Pan and gets accidentally killed in one of the pirate encounters. This causes Hook to seek vengeance against Pan. He tries different venues to get to Pan, but is incapacitated with his inability to fly. To get near Pan, he first captures Tinkerbell for fairy dust, then befriends a beautiful witch who claims to be the sister of the Sea God Neptune, and falls in love with a mermaid who is Pan’s best friend. But in his plotting and scheming, he loses his edge and falls prey instead of being a predator. Desperately in love, and now a target to an evil power, Hook tries to hold on to the humane side and for a brief time even forgets about his vengeance with Pan for the greater good. But will his good side prevail and make him a better person? Or will the cruel fate take away what he is holding dear to heart and make him an evil heartless villain? That forms the crux of this story. The language is beautiful and the book is a very easy read. But I did have some qualms on the plot. I felt it a little convoluted at few places. But I really enjoyed this imaginative retake on one of my childhood classics....more

It educated the young children about the World War II, especially about women who took part in the war. The central character in the story, Charlotte Wheeler was one of the Women air force service pilots in WW2 , she flew planes to transport them to a military base. The story is centered around a mystery involving a crashed plane and its missing pilot. The NCIS finds a note in the crashed plane, which traces it to charlotte wheeler and her family members. When Annie’s mother gets a call from the NCIS, Annie, who is about to go to college, tries to solve the mystery and learns about the women who served during WW2. Annie and her mother, find more letters in the attic and she, along with her boyfriend Ty, try to solve the pieces of the puzzle together with the resources available to them, and succeed eventually.
It is a very cool mystery and both young and old alike can enjoy this book. I am thinking of introducing this book to my young readers at home as well. This is the fourth in the Annie Tillary series, I have not read the first three. I now look forward to read the remaining books of the series....more

The story is centered around three girls, Lily, Rose and Poppy and Rose’s romance with a wealthy rude beast, Sir Griffin. Their father, obsessed with a rose called Mab’s perfection attempts to steal it from Sir Griffin, and later loses all his three daughters to him in a gamble for the rose. The three daughters take up work in Sir Griffin’s household to pay off their debts, Lily becomes the official housekeeper, Rose takes charge of the garden work and Poppy becomes his unwarranted secretary. But Rose starts falling for Sir Griffin and the beast also softens towards her. But there are obstacles for their romance to succeed and the curse on the house and Sir Griffin to be lifted. This is a very charming story and has all the elements of the fairy tale intact. The beast is rude, the house has its magical charms, the garden holds the magic flowers and the library has the magical books. But unlike the fairy tale the book has three sisters instead of one, and then there is a deceptive fairy magic which is at work to blind Sir Griffin from seeing his true love. I enjoy books from Byrd Nash, it has a dash of the Victorian romance twist to the fairy tales and it is a feast to read. Looking forward to more from this author....more

Will the ploy succeed or one of the gentlemen fall in love despite all his dislike towards the matchmaking moms process? It is a very simple story and told in a very pleasant way. It is very difficult to find a sweet clean romance these days, especially retelling a romance in regency era is not easy. Minute attention has to be paid to the costumes and the accessories. I finished this book in an hour and loved every bit of it. As I said earlier, even without the fairy touch, the story would have been equally beautiful.
