DARE YOU TO HATE ME Is a full length New Adult | Sports Romance book by B. Celeste. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' Ivy and Aiden
I've just this second closed out of the last page with a heart that's full to bursting, words can't convey how much I loved this. The storyline pulled me in straight away, the characters made me love them without effort. A slow burn that hooked me with all the feels.
I adored our heroine, she had scars, she was perfectly imperfect but perfect in every way, she had flaws but god she was so strong. Her past was shady, but that just made her real. Her struggles were raw but she owned them.
Our hero had me melting and swooning like there was no tomorrow, he was perfection. A breath of fresh air. These two just made sense together. He was her pillar of strength even when she didn't need it, she was his strength to keep him fighting for what he wanted. Even as a young chid he always tried to protect Ivy and made sure she had somewhere to go when things were tough at home. To see that carry through as an adult was so good to see.
Admittedly this won't be for everyone, our heroine does suffer from self harm and it didn't fully go into the details as some might want it to, it was glossed over not making that the full focus of this book and I was ok with that. I understood what she went through, I didn't need to be pulled under that cloud. I appreciated the glimpse was saw of her evolving into her own.
This is by far one of my favourites by this author.
'ONCE WE WERE STARLIGHT' is a full length romance book by Mia Sheridan
Love the author Love the cover Love the synopsis So of course when this arrived on my kindle I dived in straight away.
This did raise the question of 'what the heck am I reading?' as it seemed so cloudy in the beginning, but as I delved in further everything became clearer and I fell down that rabbit hole of being captivated and hooked, never to surface until this was devoured. This was such an unusual take on what could've been a very dark story, so beautifully unique which is what we usually expect from this author, even within its murky tale. An emotional journey which twisted me up, had me tearing up, but gave me the happily ever after I craved.
Our two characters had suffered so much at the hands of one man, though our heroine wore rose coloured glasses and saw the beauty when there was none to be seen, though Zakai and the others do try and shelter Karys as much as they can.
Karys and Zakai arrived at Sundara as young children taken off the streets and under the guise that they can leave once their dept is paid in full. An invisible tether held these two characters together through all they had endured with their time spent on the compound hidden in the desert, a place where illicit performances were staged where men traveled from all over the continent to watch sexual acts of deviancy for the right price.
As Zakai ages he becomes more unsettled and angry with his surroundings making him question the goings on at Sundara and everything they have been told about the outside world.
There's was a tumultuous romance who both had to face heart wrenching life changes when an escape is handed to them.
I love the diversity this author has when it comes to her storytelling abilities. Each book is so unique which leaves us the reader begging for more.
'RUTHLESS CREATURES': Is a full length romance book by J.T. Geissinger. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' This is Kage and Nat's story.
I knew only a few chapters in that nothing could sway me from giving this 5 stars because at that stage I was already under the authors spell. I've only really discovered this author recently but now I'm one clicking in a frenzy just to read all her words.
Nat teaches art to a bunch of twelve year olds at the local school, she's known around town as the girl who was jilted the day before her wedding, so she never got to even walk down the aisle in her beautiful gown. Her husband to be went out on a hike and never came home.
Five years later and Nat is still wearing her heart on her sleeve. Pining for answers to her questions which will never be answered, never giving her closure.
Until a stranger comes rolling into town and buys the house beside hers with a suitcase full of cash. Her head tells her to run in the other direction, but he's got his sights on her and he's not letting her out of his clutches.
❝ I know deep in my soul that we're a rudderless ship with torn sails in high seas, headed straight for a treacherous reef filled with flesh-eating sharks and razor sharp rocks. I feel it. Something bad is coming. A storm is headed our way. ❞
This book was everything! Such a crazy ride with twists and turns! And what a hell of a man Kage turned out to be, he oozed filthy sex appeal, from his dirty panty wetting mouth to his obsession. ❝ The man is the Shakespeare of smut. ❞ This man puts all others before him to shame, he’s as alpha as one can get, he’s domineering, arrogant, ruthless, he's perfect, but oh god those sex scenes were beyond hot! Move over Christian Grey you have been replaced!
Go into this blind, recharge those batteries *wink, wink,* because your'e gonna need them!!
This book surprised me on all levels, and yet again this author had me devouring all her words so effortlessly because for me this ticked all my boxes.
I laughed I sighed I swooned I loved I raged as I sat there needing/wanting/screaming for the next book! Because OMG that ending!! I can't wait for our 'Ice Queen' Sloane's book!
I kind of wondered how in the hell these two would work, he's bad, she's good, but boy oh boy she gave as good as she got, they were utterly perfect for each other. They were doomed from the start. He was the King of his kingdom and she was the Queen that brought him to his knees.
Just come release day, bite the bullet and one click this one, seriously you won't regret it!!
Before I knew it I was hooked, a slow burn which had me falling in love with the characters, the storyline, loving it fully, all the feels, never wanting it to end, devoured in no time at all. The only reason why this isn't a 5 star read for me is the ending felt a wee bit off, it was too rushed for my liking, I wanted to see more into the future than what we were given so there is a slight feeling of disappointment there.
Staten Island resident Riley James is a career driven woman renovating old homes was her passion but to keep her head above the water and her dreams alive she also waited tables at an exclusive restaurant. Its after one such shift at the restaurant on her way to the subway that she encounters a mugging in process that these two collide as she rescues him.
Thirty three year old, Tech billionaire Jordan West had just recently lost his best friend and has subsequently been left holding his god daughter whilst her father comes to terms losing the love of his life, Jordan's well over his head and needs to hire an assistant stat and who other than the girl who came to his rescue that night.
Riley and Jordan were as different as chalk and cheese, he was gruff and broody, she was as tough as nails. Riley should be given all the stars, she was so likeable and relatable, a sassy, strong, sharp shooter, she tells it how she sees it.
❝ West has one of those shockingly beautiful male faces that make most people stupid. Then he opens his mouth and the fascination dies an explicable sudden death. ❞
Jordan's a different story, he was hard to connect with, in the beginning he was like Rocky the movie, very few lines, closed off and moody, but once Riley started chipping away at his walls we saw a much softer, caring side come through.

'NAKED OR DEAD' Is a full length stand-alone romance by author A.E. Murphy.
What the heck did I just read!?! This is one book where I'm stumped with what to put in my review, there are so many twists and turns which are revealing, either way if you've not read this book definitely #oneclick it, it's beyond unique and will have you questioning everything you thought you knew. So without further a do I'm going to have to leave this review short and brief so as not to spoil it for others after me. Go in bind and love the shit out of this book like I did!!
Seventeen year old Lilith Deville is the new kid on the block at Lakeside Predatory Academy and has her sight set on befriending the most arrogant male of the school, and that just so happens to be Nokosi Locklear, the only Native American attendee. He's also the king of the school and makes it known that he'd never date a white girl.
Lilith has moved from school to school every few weeks or so, never able to set down roots. Nokosi lives on a reservation. These two are as opposite as you can get. But the fire between them is scorching.
This was such a roller coaster of a ride. My emotions were thrown into overdrive, the angst, the feels, the suspense, this book took me down twists and turns I wasn’t prepared for!
My heart wanted to cry for the injustice of that ending. I never saw it coming ...more
THESE VIOLENT ROOTS Is a full-length stand alone psychological thriller, by Nicole Williams.
I haven't read anything by this author in such a long time, and it's definitely not something I've seen her dabble in before so to say I was highly anticipating this book was obviously an understatement.
The blurb ticked all my boxes.
Grace Wolff is a very successful prosecutor whilst her husband in addition to his private practice Noah is a court appointed psychiatrist, He counsels pedophiles and runs several support groups for recovering and celibate pedophiles, both working on opposite spectrums of the board.
This did take me a wee bit to get into and found it a wee bit drawn out in some places, it wasn't until we started getting into the brain storming surrounding the serial killer is where for me I started to get more of a feel for the storyline and characters and I started to really enjoy it more. My head and heart started going to war against the other.
“ I might have dealt with sexual predators in my line of work, but I came at the issue from an entirely different angle than Noah did. I prosecuted sexual criminals. Noah counselled them, seeking to simultaneously understand and support them. ”
When a predator is released back in the community and days after he ends his life its not until the body is examined that it showed defensive wounds.
Later on a private investigative task force is recruited which uncovers many more cases like the one above, now the hunt is on for a serial killer being nabbed 'The Huntsman' who it seems operates at a national level.
“ The name would go down in history alongside the handful of other prolific serial killers in modern times. ”
I needed to see how the author was going to tie it all up The suspense was killing me Speed reading commenced.
'HOLD THE FOREVERS' Is a full length, stand-alone romance novel by K.A. Linde
Ash was the boy who owned her heart and soul, who she gave up her virginity for in high-school, the first boy she ever loved, before she even knew what love was.
But he was also the first boy who broke her heart.
Cole was the new man in her life who stole her breath away, who made her believe in new beginnings and superpowers. Who fixed all her broken bits and made her whole.
She loved these men at different times throughout her life, separately they were there when she needed them the most. Delilah loved them both, but knew she had to let one go at some stage.
This was like watching a tennis match, when one relationship crumbled another one started, either it be with Ash or Cole it was always one or the other.
Its not until you close that very last page when you learn which man she chose, the one that knew her better than she even knew herself. All the emotional upheaval was worth it in the end. My heart was full. She finally chose the man that I was hoping she would choose, the one which knew her even better than she knew herself.
This book was one I was anticipating above all others, I knew going into this I'd be taken on an angsty rollercoaster ride and I wasn't wrong. Like a ping pong ball my emotions were all over the place. These characters literally gave me whiplash.

'THE REVENGE PACT:' is the first full length romance book in the series 'Kings of Football', by Ilsa Madden-Mills. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'
Their story started with a note..
I'd just read 'On the rebound, by L.A. Cotton,' and another reader mentioned to give this one a shot, so wanting to stick to the sports theme I one clicked without question and I am so freaking glad I took that leap, this was so good. Straight away I fell under River's spell, he embodied everything I seek in a hero and it wasn't long before I was swooning, pegging him one of the most perfect book-boyfriends us girls love to lay claim to, the way he loved, his use of words, his inner musings, he just had me melting all over the place. He was just so raw, real and it was refreshing encountering a male character with life like issues.
3 best friends: 'River Tate' the popular frat boy 'Crew Smith' the protective one and 'Hollis Hudson' the mysterious tight end who keeps everything locked down deep. 3 books, guys wanted to be them, girls wanted to be screwed by them.
This is River Tate's book, the popular senior frat boy attending Braxton College a prestigious school which has one of the best football programs in the country, he was supposed to go far being a superstar wide receiver but this year he dropped more balls than he'd caught thus meaning he'd missed out on a prospective NFL career. River's late father played for the New York Pythons before blowing out his knee ending his career before it had taken off. So River is striving to prove that he's just as good if not better than his father was.
If that didn't put enough pressure on River his grades are plummeting due to his learning issues and his mother is sick, he's like a domino ready to fall over with the slightest push.
Anastasia Bailey and River's relationship wasn't without a few road blocks in the way, she's dating one of his closest friends and even though he pretends he dislikes her she pretends he's invisible to her, but neither of them can deny that little spark that sizzles between them.
Anastasia is the girl with lavender hair, she's quirky, bright and is pegged to become a lawyer, pushing her well out of River's league.
This was so easy to fall into and be swept away for a few hours with life outside my walls ceasing to exist. I literally inhaled every single word as though I needed a crack fix, it just pulled me in so effortlessly, making it especially easy to connect to the characters and their journey, there wasn't anything I would change about this book, it flowed perfectly, the characters were well rounded, making the storyline real and life like.
'FORSAKEN TRAIL' is the fourth book in Devney Perry's 'Runaway' series. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'
Brody was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, never wanting for anything. Whereas Aria barely had two pennies to rub together and lived like a homeless person in a junk yard. What could these two possibly have in common?
I went into this one not having read the others in this series and was worried I wouldn't be able to connect with the storyline and characters but I had nothing to worry about, one thing I do question though is why haven't I read the others in this series!! Come on guys next time kick my rock!! This pulled me in straight away, cementing yet again why she's one of my favourite authors!! After reading this and falling under her spell I went and one clicked the others in this series!!
This series centers around a group of six misfits (Katherine, Londyn, Gemma, Karson, Clara and Aria) who as teens lived in a junk yard, now much older each have been given the task of driving this Cadillac across country which started out on the East Coast.
Forsaken Trail is about thirty year old landscaper Aria, her road trip takes her from the coast of Oregon to the desert in Arizona where she's delivering the restored 1964 Cadillac DeVille convertible to her twin sisters doorstep for the next part of the journey which will take her twin to California a place Aria never wants to set foot in again. Aria's excited to be spending the next two weeks with her sister and her nephew August.
Clara, Aria's sister works for billionaire Broderick Carmichael at Carmichael Communications they have a strong friendship which doesn't impress Aria as she can't stand the entitled, arrogant man one bit.
So when Clara falls ill the last thing Aria wanted to be doing was going as Brody's fake date to his brothers wedding party he never wanted to attend, but its all about keeping up with appearances for the time being until the company was his.
One night of pretending Then we'd go back to what we were good at. Hating.
That evening turned into something neither of them expected, from flirting to the back and fro banter to drinking too much champagne its whilst being under the influence that all inhibitions flew out the door as one kiss led to more.
It was only one night, she won't see Brody again until she visits her sister, its whilst Aria is on her own turf that she learns she's pregnant. From this point onwards Brody was nothing like Aria had depicted him out to be, he just sent my heart all a flutter. They were just perfect for each other.
A beautiful captivating love story, perfection at its best, from sworn enemies to lovers, throw in a surprise pregnancy and it was the perfect read to curl up with in your favourite spot. Highly recommend ...more

'ARROGANT HEIR' is the second full length romance book in 'Author Michelle Heard's 'The Heirs' series. Spoken in 'Dual perspectives.'
After reading the previous book and getting sucked into this group's dynamics I was highly anticipating Jace and Mila's book. I crazy love the troupe childhood friends to lovers, throw in unrequited love and I'm all in feet and all.
As I was lulled into a false sense of security reading of Jase and Mila's backwards and forwards angsty dance as they struggled to try not to overstep the boundaries of their unique friendship a debilitating twist had my heart in tatters, my emotions went haywire as I tried to reel them in. It was such a raw moment, but within the darkness a real Clark Kent stepped up and became her knight in shining armour.
Just before it was to late for him to make a stand he realised how much his feelings for Mila actually were. Even though Mila has been in love with him since she was fifteen it took him a wee while to catch the feels, though going by his flirty ways I think it was already there just simmering away in the background ready to ignite when the right timing struck.
In the blink of an eye he put his playboy ways behind him. These two were perfect for each other. I couldn't get enough of them, I never wanted this to end.
This is where this author truly shows her talent, you never know where she's going to lead you until it's too late, it's those twists and turns which I thrive for, it's what makes my reading experience so enjoyable because with this author you can never predict which way she's going to go.
Everything this author threw at me I felt, raw, realistic, riveting. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I inhaled it..
Kindle Edition, 637 pages, Ipad Mini 2,231 pages!! HOLY SHIT!! I lost count of how many hours I took reading this book, I know it was more than 2x days!! Arcs flew in but I couldn't tear myself away from this book!! This went from a 5 star read to one of my favourites of 2020!!
Social media went crazy over this book, everywhere I looked there it was glaring at me in the face, taunting me to one click, usually a book with pages of this magnitude I either speed read or don't bother one clicking, but this book right here pulled me in straight away and didn't let me go until I closed that last page.
This book destroyed me in the best possible way, a twist that came at me left field left me reeling in its wake, devastated, rooting for them to get their HEA, but this author had more installed for us. This story was one of the best I've come across, she took that forbidden aspect up to a whole new level, even though I gulped at the amount of pages I didn't want this to end, I didn't want to say goodbye to these characters who had crawled into my heart and settled in, this book deserves all the stars!!
This was hands down one of my favourite releases of 2020!! In my opinion a story should pull you in deeply, irrevocably making you connect whole heartedly with the characters, and the storyline, when they hurt you hurt, when they are happy you are happy, To Burn in Brutal Rapture seeped into the deepest parts of my soul, a slow burn heart wrenching forbidden epic love story at its best. Words can not convey how much I truly loved this story..
'HATE ME' Is a full length, stand-alone romance novel with dark undertones by Author Ashley Jade. Spoken in 'Dual Pov's'
This was one of my most highly anticipated reads. Best advice I can give you going into this is GO IN BLIND, this is a twisted up thrilling kind of read which will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, its like nothing this author has ever written before. Some like myself won't even really connect with these characters but end up enjoying this ride this author set us on anyway. I for one couldn't put it down. I don't think I even moved off the couch!!
Every action has a consequence.
Both our characters are imperfectly flawed, broken in their own ways. a little bit of darkness resides in both of them.
This goes back to the 9th grade with fourteen year old Aspen starting Black Mountain Academy, a private elite school for rich kids, though Aspen's parents were anything but. The only thing going for this school is the potential to advance her education.
Learning that Knox attends this school also leaves her with a sinking feeling in her heart. She'd met him when she was eight years old when his bullying ways had knocked one of her front teeth out and then to add insult to the injury he took a pair of scissors which came out of nowhere and hacked at her pony tail.
But that was six years ago, she's hoping he's grown up since then.
He's going to up the anty by making her an outcast. Things go from bad to worse when she loses father and her mother moves onto a new conquest which is none other than Knox' father.
The hate these two feel towards the other combusts off the pages, but when he literally steals her first kiss an underlying attraction springs up out of nowhere.
When HATE turns to WANT has the pages sizzling, the HEAT is turned up and these two go up in FLAMES.
Nothing prepared me for this twisted up unique read! Twists and turns came at me out of nowhere which had me inhaling this like a junky, this author brought her A GAME. This was such a suspenseful dark gritty read!

In the blink of an eye and in just one moment thirty-three year old business man, adrenaline junky Caleb's life is changed forever. Leaving his future up in arms.
Twenty eight year old nurse, Whitney's life is changed when she's offered a job of second chances. Their two lives collided, changing them both forever. Caleb & Whitney will completely capture your heart not just once but many times.
This author always hits where it hurts and this one did exactly that throwing out twists and turns which left me flabbergasted and floundering in there wake, the feels came at me out of nowhere wringing my heart to smithereens. A day later and I'm still reeling from this book.
Marni Mann doesn't hold back as she takes hostage of all her readers hearts in this thought provoking beautifully written love story which will leave you breathless and wanting more, a rollercoaster of an emotional story which this author delivers time and time again, this is where she excels.
All us readers ask of authors is that they bring us unique reads and there is no doubt that this is exactly what we were seeking.

One couple thrown together in the wilderness left for dead, no one knows where they are, they only have each other to lean on, a battle against the elements as they try and survive as best as they can with the barest of supplies left at their disposal. No food to sustain them, no rescue in sight.
'NOT MY HERO:' Is a full length romance novel by Michele Heard. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'
I love how this author has no fear, she'll step where many authors are too afraid to go, she dives in and tackles such sensitive subjects, always done so beautifully and the topic in this book was no different. I wasn't prepared for this, gut-wrenching rawness had my emotions spiralling out of control. This book wrung every little emotion out of me it possibly could until I was left dry. I read this from front to back in record speed, I couldn't put it down, I didn't want it to end, this was such a sad but beautiful journey.
Brie Weinstock's self esteem had been pretty much obliterated by her unhinged socialite mother, throw in past and present bullies and its a wonder Brie was standing at all. Piece by piece they were stealing the very air she was breathing, breaking her down until there was literally nothing left. Her journey was heartbreaking and not for the faint of heart. It's right in your face with nowhere to hide.
Until a new boy rocks up to school and changes Brie's life forever. She had him pegged wrong from the start, with his piercings and his don't give a f#ck attitude she thought he'd be just like everyone else at her school and join the ranks with their bullying ways. But this boy had a heart of gold and he wasn't prepared to stand around watching boys pick on a defenceless girl, she wrung emotions out of him which he'd struggled to repress.
Colton Lawson blames himself for his brother's death, Brie reminds her of him with her timidness and he decides to jump in and save the lost girl before it's too late. Neither realising that they both need saving.
Oh how I loved Colton, he stole my heart from the get go, from his little motivational quotes to his beautiful protective sole, these two were just perfect for each other.
'FALLEN' Is a suspenseful dark romance novel by Mia Sheridan. Third person 'POV.' Goes from 'Past to Present time.'
I have no idea what I've just read!! Most of it I thought I was in the paranormal genre, which is one I do not read. This was so cleverly executed, twists and turns that left me gasping in their wake. One story which branched off into other mysteries had me questioning everything. To say I was beyond hooked was an understatement. I loved this. Inhaled, devoured in such record speed, I couldn't put it down, I had to know what evil resided within that township. I have no idea how this author came up with this storyline but wow!! It's scary, creepy, dark, gritty, sad, the perfect read for Halloween.
Single mother Scarlett and her seven year old daughter Haddie with an old soul arrive at their newly acquired mansion in the middle of nowhere named 'Lilith house' which had been left abandoned for the past thirteen years, Scarlett wants to bring it back to its former glory, she has a business idea of making it into the perfect event venue for wedding and parties.
Lilith House holds some sentiment to Scarlett as many years ago her childhood friend Kandace had been sent here when she was seventeen, in the past when it was a school for girls who had gone off the rails and Lilith House was the end of the road for them.
I'm Kandace Thompson, seventeen, from Los Angeles. I'm here because, according to my mother, and several judges, I'm a substance abuser and a thief. Lilith House is my last chance to straighten up, or I receive jail time for my most recent crime of stealing my latest stepfather's Lamborghini
When we're introduced to Deputy Camden West, I didn't know what to make of him, he intrigued me, a man of hidden secrets, slowly his story unravels and its one which I wasn't expecting.
Before the doors closed to Lilith house forever Kandace a week beforehand had disappeared without a trace, no one knows what happened to her.
Fallen takes us back to Kandace's time spent at this school for wayward girls. Her story is heartbreaking, raw, emotional, dark.
Trigger Warning: Shallow River is a dark romance that contains domestic violence, rape, violence, and sexual situations.
A warning like the above makes me skip towards the darkness!!
Red flags started bombarding all over the place concerning our heroine, in the beginning she was this tough female who would knock down a male a peg or two if he overstepped into her personal space, then it’s as though she’d had a personally transplant, she had no back bone whatsoever, no fight, where’s that survival instinct gone? She became weak and complacent, I understand where the author was going with this but it was too much of a change for me.
And that's where I started to struggle with the story.
Half way, I had all hopes that things would change..And just like that they do...Chapter 17 and OMG my heart just about jumped out of my chest, things escalated out of my wildest dreams as I did not see that coming. And that's when the story came into its own.
Ok I have to be honest here, heed the trigger warning it's there for a reason, this may be too dark for newbies but just right for the black little soul readers like myself. I'm going to sit on my rating, because I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either, and I know I'm in the minority but with this genre it's one I read above all others so I've gotten pretty picky.
This was a wee bit messy, in regards to repetitive sentences repeated, scenes left open ended, a scene added that came out of nowhere that kind of didn't make a hell of a lot of sense, it really didn't need to be there. I also found it hard to connect with the heroine because of the flow of the story, I think it would've been a lot better if past and present was incorporated, instead of thrown into chapters haphazardly. I needed to feel that connection to be able to sympathise with her situation and I didn't get that, I just got angry.
Lastly don't let my review put you off one clicking this, don't let my review deter you....more
WRONG FOR ME: is a full-length romance, standalone novel with no cliffhanger and an HEA.
As soon as this landed on my trusty old ipad I turned off life for the day and read this front to back in no time at all. I hadn't read the previous version this was based on so it was brand spanking new material for me. Give me a child hood friends to enemies book and I'll be your best friend forever lol These books are my kryptonite and this book here was no different, it ticked so many boxes.
The angst The feels The hot sex scenes The frustration All made for one unputdownable unique read!!
Alec was the first one to approach Oakley when they were little kids when she arrived in their neighbourhood and was out drawing hopscotch on her drive way. But she only had eyes for Rowan, Alec's brother who also swooped in that day and stole her right out from under Alec. But from that day onwards he was never too far away from her, always saving her from scrapes and bruises, always watching her, keeping her safe.
With his barbed words and bullying ways you so want to despise Alec but it's a struggle, we see his frustration when it comes to Oakley and her inability to see past Rowan, no matter how many times he tries telling her, she's blind to his selfish ways.
Years go by, and the three are still tethered to Oakley in some form, Oakley is still pining over Rowan, he runs hot and cold, never taking things further and Alec is still waiting in the background, waiting for her to open her eyes and see the man that has always loved her since he was a young boy. When Oakley is under threat, it's Alec that steps up to the plate to protect her yet again.
'NOT WHAT I EXPECTED' Is a full length stand-alone contemporary romance novel by Jewel E. Ann
I don't even know how to go about writing up this review, just saying it was brilliant isn't enough, so true to real life issues each woman would've encountered at some stage in their lives, so easy to relate to, and oh so true with with how stay at home mother's are perceived. They don't get paid, their days don't finish when they lay their heads on the pillow each night, many will go through their never ending lists of what they may have to do the next day, like a hamster on a wheel a woman's job is repetitive it's always done under cover, like a super hero, raising kids, looking after their husbands, making sure the household runs smoothly, their jobs are endless.
When all those little things over time which had built up with our heroine in her marriage of twenty-two years and four grown teen children, started escalating into a rocket ready to be launched had forty two year old Elsie reaching her breaking point, making her speak up out of the blue stipulating to her clueless husband that she wanted a divorce.
She wanted more out of life, she deserved more. And we've got front row seats as we see Elsie take her first step out into the world as a free woman.
When thirty year old Kael Hendricks a new comer arrives in the small town of Epperly and sets up shop across from the speciality store which has been in Elsies family for generations adds stress and unneeded competitiveness as her store is barely staying afloat as it is. She despises him but setting eyes on him and seeing how closely he resembles 'Captain America' only with a beard has her like all the other females in their god faring small township secretly lusting after him.
Kael is a free spirit who lives in the moment, he's never been in love, he's never been in a relationship, he's never wanted to be tied down, he's also so selfless, he'll give anyone the shirt off his back, he'll go out of his way to lend a helping hand whenever needed and everyone loves him even though all his good deeds have the opposite effect on Elsie. Sparks fly, an unbridled attraction is unleashed, and sexual endeavors are in secrecy as they tip toe around the gossip mongers and single woman throwing themselves at him.
This comes fully loaded with Jewel E Ann's quirky humour, the giggles flowed freely. the feels came quickly. This author is unstoppable, her stories are always beyond unique, she pulls you in so effortlessly with her magical story telling making me come back again and again just to read her words, to fall in love with another one of her books is effortless.
'THE CABIN' is a full length romance book by Jasinda Wilder. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'
I know I'm a sucker for a tear jerker but this stepped a little too close to home for me. My partner's best friend is going through this and I struggled to keep the tears at bay, I connected to this story more than I thought I would, such a heartbreaking journey, the tears came freely, the heartache came without warning, the storyline hooked me in straight away. To say I wasn't in the right frame of mind to read this was an understatement, but I'm glad I did.
This story doesn't sugar coat the struggle nurse Nadia goes through as she sees her husband the love of her life take his last dying breath, it's in your face, it's real, it's raw, it's gut wrenching. He knew his end was coming, and set things in motion where even in death her husband Adrian looked after her, he sets her on a path which heals her, gives her hope, where second chances are there for the taking if you are open enough to grab it.
So beautifully written the author did justice to this story. Grab some tissues and get ready to have your heart ripped out. But slowly the author puts the pieces back together again. There is light at the end of the dark.
'DON'T KISS THE BRIDE' Is a full length stand-alone, age-gap romance novel by Carian Cole. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'
This is one of the best age gap stories I’ve ever read, I loved these two characters equally, a slow burn which got its hooks into me effortlessly, I devoured this, couldn't put it down, whatever this author writes turns to gold, and I really need to make time to read her other books I've not yet read.
Sylar is an eighteen year old high school student whose been dealt a raw hand in life, she's down to earth and really mature for her age, her home life isn't the greatest. She drives an old 'vette which was handed down to her but which has seen better days. She also has a quirky dress sense, with a fire cracker personality to boot.
Jude aka Lucky is a thirty four tatted up construction worker, he looks all rough around the edges but has a heart of gold. When he sees a damsel in distress when her vette doesn't start he jumps in and helps no questions asked, even if he does turn into a driving Miss Daisy until her car is fixed.
As he spends more time with her and a budding friendship ensues he sees the effect her life is having on her, he decides to jump in and help her out by marrying her temporarily so that she can get up on her feet.
They both agreed on just one rule—no kissing the bride.
This book had me swooning all over the place, Jude, aka Lucky was just pure perfection, with a perfectly imperfect heroine, making these two perfect for each other!
This was so beautifully written, a no frills real to life raw romance book at its best without any over the top drama, the feels and the roller coaster of emotions were felt throughout. Such a beautiful heartfelt story.

I hadn't read anything by Shay Savage for quite some time so when I saw this doing the rounds I was excited to see what she'd bring me, and true to form she gave me such an enjoyable suspense filled ride, once I'd started I couldn't put it down, she'd pulled me in so effortlessly.
I don't want to go into too much of the storyline as I don't want to wreck it for readers after me, but go in blind, and I hope you'll end up enjoying it like I did.
Cherry Bay's aunt had recently passed away, leaving her alone in the world with an antique shop to run and questions she's seeking answers to, which leads her to Cascade Falls , nothing could've prepared her for this small township though, a township that's so divided down the middle (East & West), that no one dares cross that line.
Nate Orso's family runs the East side and their bitter rivals, the Ramsay's reside on the West, a feud that goes centuries back making them despise each other with a passion. Both families are into the realestate business amongst other things. For the most part they stick to their side of town.
Cherry meets Nate at his club The Big O when he saves her from a disastrous first date and they kind of clicked from that point onwards.
Nate's not all that he appears to be, he's a sheep in wolfs clothing and he's not above getting what he wants deceitfully, and he's set his sights on Cherry, he's just got to play his cards right and strike at the right time.

This book was exactly what I expected from Brittainy Cherry, she throws her whole being into her books and it shows from the story development to the characters themselves, making it a believably raw, realistic, no frills, slow burn romance that kick started my heart and made me believe in fairy tale love again.
