I was very curious about this author and her new series! First of all I need to say that this book has dark themes and isn’t for the faint of heart! The first half of the story I found to be frustrating at times, and hated what the heroine had to endure in the arms of her enemies. I’m glad I persevered through to the next half of the book though... that is when Simin enters the heroine’s life... and even though she fought her circumstances full heartedly, Simin worked very hard to gain any kind of affection from her! He was a worthy hero and I fell for him very quickly!
This is story is written in a unique setting with aliens called the Alphas!!! They search for their Omegas to make their lives more fulfilled. I had never heard of this alien universe before but now that I have been introduced... I definitely want to check out more. It did take me a little bit to become engaged with the universe as this was not a flowery type of story. This world is violent and their ways are very hard to swallow or accept. The theme is very sexual and very dark. I would take the author’s warnings to heart... This world is not one that everyone would enjoy!
For myself, when I’m in the mood for a darker theme to my books; I am definitely going to check out more of this author’s violent worlds!! I always love it when I come across a story that is unique!!...more

I am so impressed by what she has written...I was a fan before; but now I will be hanging on every word she writes in the future!!!
This book reminded me a lot of the "Divergent" series, although "Juniper Unraveling" is way darker, grittier, and down right chilling! I loved how even with the story having a major dark tone to it, there was a beautiful love story that evened out the despair, violence, and desperate vibe that colored a big portion of the book.
The characters in this world were so impressive....they all had such a drive to live and survive; even amongst such a gruesome background that their world had become. I really would love to tell everyone all about what I have read, and believe me...I could talk for hours on it...but that would ruin it for everyone else!! I must say, that if you are a reader that enjoys darker themes, or even a person who loves to try something new...then please give this book a go.
"Jupiter Unraveling" is going down as one of my Best books of 2017! I can say that easily, this is a story I won't ever forget. I love that it is unique and memorable. It is becoming harder and harder to find books like that. So this is hands down a favorite for me. Keri Lake states at the end of the book that she will be writing another one set inside this world, and I can't wait to get my hands on it! Bravo Ms. Lake on a brilliant piece of work. You have a fan in me always!!!...more

This was a different kind of read for me. It is what I would call part of a Sci-fi romance genre-if there is such a thing! The Intimidator is book two in the Preyfinders series, and I will admit that I would have had a way better reading experience if I had read the first book. I was a bit lost at first, so I'm thinking if I had more history and understanding I would have become way more absorbed into the read than I was. Even though this was the case, I was able to get drawn into the storyline and enjoy it as well. I was reminded why I enjoyed some of Cari Silverwood's past reads. She knows how to write very steamy erotica! She also has a very active imagination when it comes to kink..*cough* Electric toothbrush anyone!!!! LMAO Ever since I have read this book, I have a whole new perspective of what my electric toothbrush can do..Funny, but I never thought of anything like that before!!! ;-P So, in saying that, I will highly recommend to anyone who loves a unique erotica story; to give this one a go..Or for that matter, any of Ms. Silverwood's reads will do! She really makes the sex light the pages on fire with explosive intensity between her characters.
This is the story of Stom and Willow. Stom is an alien from a planet that has been destroyed. While his planet was under destruction, he also lost his bond mate and his younglings. He has grieved them for some time and has only interest in being a Hunter. He has been told to go to Earth to acquire a "Pet" which is his reward for a job well done. Unfortunately, Stom has zero interest in having a human woman for a pet..for that matter..ANY woman is of no use to him. He feels he would be betraying his vow to his late wife. When he is introduced to Willow though, there is an attraction that is impossible to ignore. He gives it a hard fight though, as he really does not want to betray the memory of his late wife. Will he give in to his desire that is becoming harder to ignore? Or will he be able to turn his back on this "gift" that he is technically suppose to cherish?
Willow is an interesting heroine. I really enjoyed how independant she was, and yet there was a vulnerability to her that was just under the surface. She fell hard for Stom, and of course was extremely HOT for him! (This is an erotic book don't forget!!)Even though she was fanning her nether regions constantly around him; she had a huge road block in her way of potential happiness. She was caring for her sister, and she couldn't leave her for anyone.There are major complications though, and Willow may not have a future without Stom. There are so many speed bumps in the way for Stom and Willow. Is there any chance of a HEA for them? I will say this..when these two give in to their desire...they create fireworks! Alien and human, they know how to create sparks between one another. Let's just hope they will be able to find a way to be happy, because their attraction would be a shame to pass up.
For a shorter story, there was a lot of substance to it. Yes, it is erotica but there is a great storyline as well. I do want to go back and read book one now, and I look forward to the next installment when it comes out. I am so glad that I got a chance to be reminded of how talented Cari Silverwood is as an erotica author! I honestly would have never tried a sci-fi themed book; but the beauty of winning a contest like this is trying things that are outside of the box your use to. I am happy that I won and was able to expand my horizons..It was well worth it!...more

I always feel like I’m coming home to friends and family when I read about the gang! Each book is a different murder case, and somehow the author keeps the cases fresh and exciting!
Of course all I have to say is Roarke! Those of you that have fallen in love with him will know exactly how I feel about that man!!! Him and Eve have the best relationship, and I love reading about their loyalty and love for one another! Now their love extends to their friends as well, and I love them all too!
A stand up fabulous series that may take a large commitment but it is so worth it.... I promise!!...more

It has been over a few years since I have picked up this series. When I had stopped it wasn't because it got boring, it was because at the time I had run out of books that were currently written. I decided then to take a break and let JD Robb develop a bunch more stories before I picked up again! Now I have about ten more to read to catch up again, and I am going to savor it.
I love this series, and Eve and Roarke's marriage just keeps giving me the warm fuzzies, and the crimes that Eve is trying to figure out keep me entertained and puzzled. Each book includes a case Eve is working on, as well as we get to catch up with how her marriage is doing. We also get to revisit a whole bunch of secondary characters whom I have grown to love. JD Robb...also known as Nora Roberts weaves murder mysteries into the lives of the characters, as well as does it in the future. What I mean by that is that it is the year 2050;s and I love her take on what the world will be like that far into the future. By now I am so familiar with the scene that it feels like I went back and visited home, friends and family when I cracked open this book.
What more can I really say? This is one of my top series of all time, and I will keep reading these books as long as the brilliant JD Robb keeps writing them!!! If murder mysteries are even remotely something you enjoy, then this series is a MUST READ series for you!!! Oh, and don't forget the handsome and major heart throb Roarke. He is hands down the best romance hero I have ever come across...Seriously, he can't be beat!!!...more
