I just could not refuse the impulse to click and I was crossing my fingers that Defy The Stars would prove as enjoyable as the cover was visually pleasing.
I was definitely not disappointed.
To be honest…I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like about this book.
i just loved it all.
The characters were amazing and the development especially with Abel was completely believable and enthralling. Who would think that a “love story” with a human fighter pilot and a mech (robot) could be this rich and compelling. This emotional…but trust me…it is! Noemi is strong and capable but not without her fears and sadness…and they illustrate her bravery all the more.
The world building and politics are equally well fleshed out…from the gate system for traveling between the planets, to the environment, politics and culture of each planet…I just soaked it all up.
Don’t worry about being overwhelmed by the science here…I recommend just taking what you are offered at face value and enjoying all that this amazing story has to offer including environmental and political concerns that can so easily be translated to our own current circumstances, love and redemption, personal growth and bravery and a lot of soul searching…including digging deep to define the meaning of soul itself....more

And Until It Fades left me with a warm heart and a smile on my face as I went to sleep….sure to have pleasant dreams.
I have to admit that I was surprised going into this to see that it was quite unlike K.A.Tucker’s previous works. And at first I was a little worried… it appeared to be a simple Cinderella story with a predictable ending to the usual trope. I was especially worried since if there was going to be a trope, I’m much more partial to the friends to lovers trope and must admit that I was rooting for Keith in the beginning.
Tucker (and Brett) completely won me over though with this incredibly sweet and charming story about love and family and forgiveness and having the strength the put the past in the past and grab hold of what you want.
Some things that actually surprised me about Until It Fades (And that I didn’t realize until I finished the read!):
1. It is kind of a Sports Romance. And I don’t read Sports Romance! LOL But this was pretty light on that aspect so don’t let that scare you away! 2. It left me thinking that it is Ok to let someone take care of you. I’m pretty independent…but in this case it just worked…and made me wonder if maybe I am too independent…hmmm… 3. I just really wanted my Happily Ever After with this one and I shamelessly didn’t care! Tucker so delivered! ♥...more

The Perfect Stranger appears to be unrelated to Miranda’s first Adult suspense novel and has only that it common…the genre.
Don’t get me wrong…Miranda writes great suspense and I did enjoy this read…however it just fell a it flat for me.
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where it went wrong for me though. It didn’t have the same pacing and there seemed to be too much going on and too many threads woven together. To be honest I started to lose interest and I began pushing to the end not because I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next but rather because I was enjoying it enough to want to finish but not enough to relish in getting there.
All in all it was a very solid read and I might have liked it more had I not been still riding the high from reading All The Missing Girls right before it....more

Ah…I am so sad that this one didn’t work for me!
I initially fell in love with that cover (seriously…is that not one of the most gorgeous covers you’ve ever seen?!?!?!) at the end of last year and upon researching Rin Chupeco and hearing about ho lush and descriptive her writing style is, I was sold. Then add in a Witch…and well…how could I resist!
Sadly, The Bone Witch just didn’t deliver as expected. The writing was definitely rich and evocative, but there was little to no character development and even less action.
Frankly i was just too bored to keep plodding through.
I wanted more magic, more witches, more everything and just didn’t get enough to keep going....more
