I really enjoyed reading this book as a country music fan and seeing what dedication Willie and Bobbie had towards each other and music. I really liked how it was set up as a back and forth between the two of them at the different points in their lives and felt the book was a quick and enjoyable read. I am highly recommending it to everyone who has a passing interest in Willie Nelson's life and will be sharing this book with everyone....more

I absolutely loved this book and read it in one sitting. It is a great look at both Samuel L. Jackson's life and his filmography. The author ranks each movie by overall film and SLJ rating. I love how the story was told with snippets of his life, then movie summaries and reviews, followed by more life. It's all in chronological order and now I'm looking forward to watching some of these movies again and some of the movies I have never seen...more

I loved this book and couldn't put it down. It may have been because I was in marching band in high school, so I could relate to that aspect of the story, though the characters still pulled me in. The story pulled in every direction and even with the alternating viewpoints, I didn't need to know who was speaking because they both had such distinct voices.

I enjoyed this story. It was a nice story about Megan and her relationship with her sisters, Fiona and Helen, and how Megan dealt with her mother's death at a young age. The story was a good balance between present day and Megan's thoughts on her past. At points, it felt like the story moved too slow or was bogged with details, but it's definitely a book I'd recommend to others looking for a good story about family relationships and finding yourself....more

I enjoyed the book and finished it relatively quickly. For me, it felt like I had read several similar stories of the social climber who gets in over her head and realizes where she really needs to be in the end and who are her true friends. I found Evelyn's mother Barbara to be completely overbearing and wasn't surprised at all with how Evelyn turned out in the book.
I felt the book dragged a bit in the middle but it definitely picked up towards the end.
I think this book would be a great beach read....more

I liked that the recipes varied in skill, from simplistic to more complicated. I've only tested out the almond cake recipe and it was so-so in comparison to an actual Portuguese almond cake.
One thing the copy is missing is an Index of recipes, which makes it difficult for me to look them up, as the Table of Contents is based on region. I found the way some of the regions were broken down to be a little haphazard, but I did like most of the recipes selected for each of the regions.
I absolutely loved that there were recommendations for substitutions if you couldn't find certain specific ingredients and if certain wines were better suited for the recipe. I liked the commentary and felt it held the book together.
Overall, I'm looking forward to trying out more of the recipes....more
