Mercy is back to finish what she started, and you’re going to be pretty happy with how it all shakes out for her and her men. Where book one left off, with Mercy in dire peril, book two picks up right where things left off. Big props to the author for that, because if we had skipped past and moved forward after that ending...yeah, readers would have been up in arms. LOL! But things are touch and go there for a minute. But, of course, it’s not long before Mercy is back on her feet. Things aren’t perfect, but I appreciate the fact that she has to struggle through some things first before the “ship rights itself.” One of my personal favorite moments in this book is brother Heath. Him checking Lox? Yeah, I loved him for it all the way. LOL! Sorry not sorry but Lox is my least fave of the guys. You get a tiny glimpse of Lox’s background, but not enough for me. But it’s enough for me to look at him differently...and not necessarily in a good way. Sorry not sorry. I loved the ending of this book. The author kept me more engaged with this book and how it would all play out. The chapters with Freeya? Simply made me hungry for more of her story. The final chapters of this book though, were probably the best. You get that nice satisfaction concerning the bad guys, and you 100% get a HEA. 4.5 out of 5 stars...more

I Bury Me is the latest addition to the Immortal Vices and Virtues series and I think this book just became my favorite. Lol I de-voured this book!!! I blinked and the next thing I knew I was halfway through. Yeah, it's that. Good. Cira is the main character of this book, but the author gives you the POV from her mates as well. Yeah, I know. If you've been reading any of the books in this series you know that. Lol Cira has had a rough 50 years. Imagine living in the subways and catacombs. Maybe fun for a night but years?? Nope! But when her "guardian" disappears...things start taking a turn. Her life is about to change. This book is a thrill ride! I loved it! I love how different Cira's story was compared to the others. She's lived such a "sheltered" life and you'll quickly learn why. The drama and tension come piling in and it's awesome. Now, while this books is borderline fantastic it has a few stumbles. Cira is supposed to have been isolated from the way it's told in the beginning, but then that shifts to say she's been bedded by others, but never kissed. A touch odd really. I wasn't the biggest fan of Alex either. Lol Sorry not sorry. But this book from beginning to end? An absolute must read. 4.5 out of 5 stars...more

Felicity is back with new chocolates, a wedding on the horizon, and a new mystery just waiting to pop. It all starts with a visitor from the past. Not for Felicity mind you, but one of her friends, Tiff. Lydia Dunning popping back up in Tiff's life portends drama to come, but what none expect? Is when murder strikes. But it's not just murder. It's a missing person, missing jewelry, and strange break-ins while people are still around. The big question...what is going on?! Oh, it's a wild ride of hunting for the truth, getting kidnapped, rescuing a goat, and trying to decide between the two men she's drawn to. Boy does Felicity have her work cut out for her! But it's all awesome. You get to watch as she pieces together the puzzles of the mysteries she's confronted with, and which direction her heart truly wishes to go in. You're going to love how it all plays out. I can't wait for the next book in this series. 5 out of 5 stars...more

Starlight Jewel is the book to read! It’s the first in the Gifts of the Auldtree series, and it’s sure to stick with you long after you’ve finished reading it. This book broke me. LOL! Axly has a secret and it concerns her human brother. All she wants is a world where he can be safe from the dangers that swirl all around him. She’s willing to pay any cost for his happiness, but what about her own? An opportunity will come that will allow her to do what is best for her brother, but in the process it will also give her a glimpse of what she could have. But will she be allowed to have any amount of happiness? Or will the Stars be against her at every turn? This book is dripping with intrigue, hope, and heartbreak. The author is going to keep you coming back for more, and leave you a hot mess. (In a good way! Mostly. LOL!) Brace yourself for betrayal, subtle elements of magic, romance, and a ton of danger. Some are simply looking for a better tomorrow, while there will be those on a quest for power. Starlight Jewel is one of those books that will pull you in a page at a time, but leave you wanting more and to know what happens next. Looking for a book packed with overt magic, steamy situations and tons of drama? Well, you might want to look elsewhere then. This book has some magic, but it’s subtle and beautifully understated. The romance is fade-to-black, and the drama is a mixed bag. But one thing is for sure – this book will stick with you and leave you eager for book two. 5 out of 5 stars...more

Astin continues to have a lot on her plate and you just can’t help wondering...when is she going to catch a break? Probably never, but she’s running the family business now and these idiots think that she can be pushed around...still. You’d think that after all the things she’s done to this point they’d get a clue. No? Huh. Okay. LOL! This series continues to keep me gripped to the pages. Astin is probably one of my favorite FMC. She kicks so much butt and takes no prisoners. I love it. It’s nice to see the relationships working out between her and all her men. It’s a good thing for her, and it makes me happy...and a touch jealous. LOL! This ending will leave you eager for the final book in this series. Cordelia goes from believing that she’s just a simple human to discovering that she’s an actual dragon shifter and Queen of Arcadia. This is a fated mates series, so when she meets her mates it’s an insta-love/lust situation going on. Sex is quick to follow as, to be expected, the animal side (that’s what we’re going with here) demands to be connected to their mate as quickly as possible. Prepare for quite a few twists in this series and for you to have some conflicting emotions concerning the guys who are her mates. Trust me. One book I’m head over heels rooting for one guy, and then the next I’m ready to throw him out completely while cheering for someone else. LOL! The author is really going to put Cordelia through the paces in this series (especially book two and a bit of book three). The drama is there and will keep you page-turning to find out what happens next. Cordelia comes off as a mixed bag of a character though. Especially in the first book. She’s all “I’m an independent woman” but then can’t go to the bathroom alone. Yeah, there’s going to be some whiplash, but it’s nice when things even out. Book three is going to be a rollercoaster of drama, chaos, and Cordelia finally getting to where it is that she’s meant to be and get that happily ever after. 4.5 out of 5 stars...more

She would irritate me with her behavior, and then I'd like her again. LOL! The guys are pretty much golden. Niall is a bit of an exception. He gets on my nerves a few times too, but like with Nikki, I moved past it. There is a ton of drama throughout. I would have liked more concrete reasons to despite the "bad guys" in this book though. I needed more than just they are rather "despicable." All in all, this book delivers on almost all levels - humor, drama, fated mates, some twists, and a hint of romance. Yeah, a hint of romance. But it does get around to it, you're just going to have to be really patient as the author connects the dots to the overall big picture of this story. Tarsey and her husband Steve, decide that now is a good time to make that big move and buy a house. The perfect neighborhood seems to be the place to go, but everything is not what it seems. Trouble is already brewing between two neighbors, and the HOA...well, to put it lightly, they are a hot mess. But there's more going on with a mysterious "stray" cat and what really happened to his previous owner. Can Tarsey navigate it all without falling into the traps of emotional drama? Or will she get sucked in? A CATastrophic Neighborhood is an average read when it comes to cozy mysteries. The conversations are odd at times to say the least, and some of the characters's behavior is also...strange, but it's still an okay book. This book needed more lively characters, because the main character - Tarsey, she's unfortunately pretty dull. She brings little to no excitement to the story. The friend that she makes in the neighborhood is more engaging than she is, but she's quite emotional and over the top at times. I wanted more from her. I wanted her to engage me and keep me interested in the story overall. As it is, this story is okay. It's not great, not sure I'd read another book in this series, but it does have potential. This book feels more like a trial run or testing the waters. With some work, this book could be better, but as it is...it's just...meh. 3.5 out of 5 stars...more

Cordelia has, once again, been abducted – but it’s not just the vampires having a hand in it this time. The vampire hunters have joined the fray. This time though, it’s not just Cordelia who is in danger. With the vampire hunters, anyone who consorts with vampires – knowingly or not – is subject to their twisted form of cleansing. And now? They want Cordelia to choose – Rook? Or her grandmother? Vampire’s Bite is an okay addition to the series. Since Cordelia has been kidnapped again, there isn’t a lot of driving force behind this book. Obviously there can’t be when one of you MCs is being held captive, but it’s also a missed opportunity to focus more on Rook or Cross or even give us a bit more about Ash. Unfortunately, that isn’t the only missed opportunity. Cordelia lets slip by multiple opportunities to inform the men of at least a name of one of the people holding her. She eventually tells them one, but not the other closest to her. It’s another fact that I found particularly annoying. It’s meant to build drama, but I found it irritating. I’m still waiting on the tie in to “Blood Vow University” since that has yet to make an appearance, but I’m hopeful that the next installment to the series will finally bridge that gap. 4.3 out of 5 stars ...more

But when she learns a few things about the place she begins to second guess her decisions. Well, too late to turn back now. Onward and upward! The Muffin Shop Murder is the first book that I have read by this author. The blurb made it sound really cute and fun, but it doesn't play out in the "traditional" way that one has come to expect from a cozy mystery novel. The murder takes place off page, and the story doesn't really center around the murder and the solving of it. Which is strange, but not completely a negative thing. Delilah doesn't come off as the brightest character either. She brushes things off that she should have given more attention. There are multiple POV in this book. Some contribute to the storyline, while others...do not. Which causes this book to be a mixed bag. It has it's good elements, and then it has it's elements that detract from the overall storyline. In the final chapters, the story gets better to an extent, but not enough to leave you craving more. Looking for something "non-traditional" then this is probably the book for you. This book has a tinge of dystopian to it. The author will tell you that the world has devolved and taken a step backward, because of the Terrors. I loved the variety of them and how different they each are. Unwanted is the first on the scene, and if he knocks on your door and you refuse him? Well, it was nice knowing you. Heroes of the Empire is the must-read fantasy novel that when you get to the end, you’re going to need a support group while you wait for the next book in this series. Trust me. I’d know and I’ll be here for you. LOL! The Cavalier is the first book in Israh Azizi's Heroes of the Empire series and once you get started reading this book you're not going to want to put it down. As this novel unfolds the drama will grab you and keep you engaged to the end. Plans are being laid out, assassinations are intended, and a kingdom - an empire is intended to be brought to its knees. The idea is that a new regime will be better for the people. But will it when the new unleashes monsters on innocent people with the intent to strike fear into the hearts of the people? A cast of characters will be brought together - some knowing what is coming, while others are simply pawns in an elaborate game. This novel is packed with twists, turns, drama, hints of romance, and so much more. When you get to the end of this book...brace yourself. The author saves some seriously twisted moments for the end of this novel that will have your jaw on the floor and you on the brink of raging. LOL! Whatever you it is that you are reading – a book or an e-book...try not to throw it in frustration. It will be okay. I promise. Trust me. I went nuts when I reached the end of this book. I immediately went to the author’s Amazon page in the hopes of seeing that book two is on the way. Unfortunately...it is NOT! But! It’s okay. We’ll all be okay. Because I know it’s out there, and when it’s ready I will POUNCE and devour it! I just hope we don’t have to wait too long. LOL! Anyways, looking for a great epic fantasy that will absolutely keep you coming back for more? Heroes of the Empire is that book. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Marcel, the maWelcome to Death Eternal, author Richard Amos’s latest dark paranormal series that will keep you page-turning and coming back for more! Marcel, the main character, is a necromancer. His job? Investigate crimes, and deal with the ghosts – reigning them in when needed and either sending them to Sanctuary or to a Facility if they choose to bring death and chaos to the world. Not what you’d expect, right? Well, there is a reason for that. Death? Well, he walked off the job and hasn’t been seen since. What’s going on? Well, that’s quite the interesting tale – so dive in! Death Eternal is an engaging novel, and probably my latest favorite by this author. The storyline will immediately engage you from the beginning. It will shock you how quickly things devolve for Marcel. You’ll even be suspicious of how quickly things go from good to bad for him. Is there something to this thread? Only time will tell. The author weaves darkness throughout, with danger, and it’s hiding closer than anyone could possibly think. Packed with twists, surprises, and delicious steamy this author intends to keep you coming back eager for more and more! I can’t wait for the next book in this series! 5 out of 5 stars...more

Apparently, when the author wrote this book she decided that it was time...for allllll the drama to begin to unfold. The beginning? It's going to set the stage. We get a delicious prologue that explains more than a few things (some you'll have already suspected) and then the story plows ahead full speed! Secrets are being revealed and you're not going to want to put this book down! Micah is going to have a lot coming at her with this book, but it's going to make for a great read let me tell you! There is some progress between the characters, and I absolutely love it! Lots of twists, surprises, and jaw-dropping moments. After that whole "challenge" situation from book one it leaves Micah with a huge target on her back...and the shots just keep coming because now...the angels are in on the drama, too. Seems like they are darker than one would have initially expected. Yes, I'm shocked. LOL! Looking for the steamy? You get a nice amount of it. Some scenes/situations won't be to everyone's liking, but you know what they say - you can't please everyone. I would've liked certain scenes to play out differently than they do - focusing on magic abilities as much as physical ones. I say this because Micah made such a point of saying her father was against her using her magic in fighting. So, it would make sense to sharpen her skills there as well. This book has a lot going to for it and if you loved these characters in book one you're not going to want to miss out on book two. Can't wait for book three! 4.7 out of 5 stars. ...more

A new Avatar is out there lurking the shadows, and Aaliyah's choices are threatening to haunt her unless she can get them under control. Sinful Mates will take you deeper into their darkness as they try to come back from everything that they've been through. Sinful Mates shows a lot of improvement in the storyline surrounding these characters. Aaliyah is admitting her shortcomings, but is still having a double-standard in certain situations. It's still annoying, but I appreciate that she is showing development. The guys themselves are showing a nice amount of growth as well. They're pushing boundaries with each other, but also learning when to take a step back. It's refreshing. The only downside for me is Zether's attitude. He has brought major heat down on the club, he knows he deserves to be punished, but he still acts like a petulant child concerning being punished. I literally rolled my eyes whenever there was a scene with him wanting to be off in a corner sulking. Brace yourself for delicious steamy, and then precious family moments. This book has a lot of balance and that really is what makes it truly enjoyable. I'm rating this book 4.75 out of 5 stars. ...more
