Another fantastic book from two awesome authors. I enjoyed this book so much! It was so intense and emotional. And the characters were great. I adored Ed in Love Always, but I fell in love with him in this one. He was so funny! And such a sweetheart! I want one lol! Hannah I had a harder time connecting with, I'm not sure why exactly, but I did feel sorry for her and what she has gone through. The authors tackled such a difficult issue with great class. Ed and Hannah had amazing chemistry. These two were perfect together. While it could be classed as insta-love, it never felt like that. Their relationship blossomed beautifully. They had so much in common and had such a wonderful connection.
Even though I enjoyed Love Always, a bit more, I still really liked this one. Such a moving story with a powerful message of no matter how broken you may think you are, there is always hope. A compelling and engaging read, I highly recommend this one!

It's not over is it?? I don't want it to be over! I am enjoying this series so much, I just want it to keep going. Alexis really is a fantastic character. She has come a long way since book one and I loved watching her grown and learn to let Brett in. They make an awesome couple and even though they still have obstacles to overcome, they come out stronger than ever. Another thing I really like about this series though is how it doesn't just focus on the realtionship between Alexis and Brett. There are so many secondary stories going on that I was never bored. McHugh explores so many different topics and tackles them all brilliantly. The series as a whole deals with all the highs and lows of teenage life in a very realistic way.
I really hope there will be more books. I'm not ready for this series to be over yet. A definite must read! ...more

Ahh this book was just as amazing as the first one! Picking up right where we left off, Alexis is still trying to fight her feelings for Brett, while Brett is still trying to convince her that they would be good together. These two have fantastic chemistry and they really would make a brilliant couple. I can understand Alexis' hesitation though. She was hurt badly in the past and has put a wall up around her heart to prevent her ever getting hurt again. But Brett is slowly but surely taking down that wall brick by brick. Alexis grows a lot in this book. There is a lot more to her than being the Queen B* and I like that she is started to let her softer side show. And I loved Brett. He is such a sweet heart and I just kept wishing that Alexis would give him a chance. I did want to knock some sense into him though when it came to his blindness towards Summer and what she was doing. I feel like there is something we're missing regarding her though, but that doesn't make her any less of a bitch.
My only complaint with these books is that they are too short! I want more!! I really hope the 3rd book isn't gonna be the last one because I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet. I highly recommend this serious if you are looking for a fun, quick, and highly enjoyable read! ...more

This book was amazing! I loved everything about it. The characters, the setting, the storyline. It was so well done, I just couldn't put it down.
The book tells the story of Maggie and Philip, two people who come from completely different worlds. They are polar opposites and yet they are the perfect match. Maggie is a fisherman's daughter with a big heart and even bigger dreams. She is a free spirit who lives for fun and adventure. She wants to sail the seas and see all that the world has to offer. Philip is the son of a business mogul who is expected to follow in his fathers footsteps. He has lived a life by a tightly organised schedule and tries to please his parents but never seems to succeed. He is slowly suffocating under the weight of responsibility his family is piling on him. He has never known true happiness and doesn't even know what he really likes besides what he has been told to like. All that changes when he meets Maggie. She challenges him to step out of his comfort zone and to take a walk on the wild side. To fight against the chains his parents have imprisoned him in and to finally live his life. These two had fantastic chemistry. There were so many things standing in their way, from Philip's family to Maggie's free nature. Their relationship didn't take off straight away and I have to say I loved this. This book has to be one of the most realistic summer romances I have ever read about. They had so many obstacles to over come and dreams to realise first. They had to work for their happily ever after.
Loveday and Knoebel have written a moving and captivating book. So emotional and heart wrenching. I cried so many times. This book ripped out my heart. And it has such a great message, especially where Philip's story is concerned. It tells you to fight for what you love, to never live under someones thumb, and to follow your heart. As Maggie says:
"The only power we had over life was how we chose to live it"
In regards to the writing, it was superb, the words just flowed across the page. You will have no trouble getting sucked into this one.

Of course she was so fricking stubborn at times that I wanted to give her a smack across the head but I still really liked her. And Brett I loved. He could put up with Alexis' bitchiness like no one else. The verbal sparring matchings these two got into were hilarious, I loved every moment they were together. And of course Brett isn't the "dumb jock" that she thinks he is. I loved learning more about him.

Just as good as the first book, Rebounding was an emotional and highly enjoyable read. The book follows Charlotte, who we met in Pretending, and Max. I would definitely recommend reading Pretending before you read this so you can get the full story about what happened to Charlotte. I didn't really like Charlotte before as she came across as a bit of a bitch but I began to like her in this. I really felt for her and what happened to her. I'm trying not to say what happened cause I don't want to spoil the first book for those that haven't read it. I really liked that she tried to gain some independence and get away from her family and her town. It took her a while but as they say, old habits die hard. Max I really liked. He tried to come across as distant and cold but really he was a sweetheart. My heart absolutely broke for him for what he has gone through and was still going through. The two of them had great chemistry, they were perfect for each other.

(I'm sorry but I don't think I can write this review without spoilers so fair warning!)
This was such a great read. I was so happy when I heard that there was a follow up to Come Back To Me. I loved Didi and couldn't wait to read more about her. This was such an emotional and heartbreaking read, with a great cast of characters. I loved the chemistry between Didi and Walker. I loved how the relationship progressed, and the fact that Walker fell in love with Didi's personality first instead of her looks. The whole blindness aspect added a really interesting twist to the story. Walker was a fantastic love interest and my heart broke for him and what he had gone through. I detest war and all that comes with it and I thought the author did a good job at portraying what the soldiers have to deal with when they come home. Zac on the other hand I did not see what Didi saw in him. I really did not understand why she stayed with him for so long. Didi is a romantic and I know she thought she had found her happily ever after with him but it was so obvious that he was not the one for her.
I was all set to give this book 5 stars, I was actually enjoying it more than the first book, but then in the last 20% it all changed and I got so annoyed with the characters. There was just really unnecessary drama added and it all could have been so easily avoided. It was the whole people not communicating problem and it was all so childish. I got really annoyed with Didi in particular. She just made such a ridiculous choice that I could not understand.
Apart from the ending this was still a brilliant read. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. Definitely recommend it to all you romance lovers out there....more

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I don't think it will be the last. This was a really cute and fun read and I really enjoyed it. Told from the POV of Rion, Arielle and Amy, 3 strangers who are now college roommates, this book follow them as the navigate the struggles of heartbreak, love, friendship and self discovery. Each character had their own unique voice so it was easy to distinguish between each of them and to get into their heads. I think my favourite was Rion. She cursed like a sailor and had no filter. She was refreshingly honest and I loved that about her. I had a hard time connecting with Amy in the beginning because I am not religious in any way. But by the end I actually came to like her journey more. She wanted to find out who she really was and to break out of the chains that were binding her to her sexist, small minded town. I think she grew the most out of the 3 of them and I really admired her come the end of the book.
While there was no shortage of drama, and the girls all had their fair share of flaws, all the characters felt very real. The friendship between the 3 girls was one of the best parts of the story because even though they started out as complete strangers, they were there for each other throughout all the ups and downs and became the best of friends. They had such a strong bond. It was so nice to read about a genuine, honest friendship between girls that didn't involve the cattiness I have found in other books.
It may not have been perfect but I still really enjoyed this book. Full of diverse and fascinating characters, this was a quirky, heartbreaking, and fun read. I would definitely recommend this one!...more
I'm gonna start this off by saying I was so worried about reading this book. I've been in an awful reading funk Blog Tour Post: The Shadow Realm
3.75/5
I'm gonna start this off by saying I was so worried about reading this book. I've been in an awful reading funk lately and haven't really been in the mood to read anything. I was worried this would affect my reading of The Artisans but thankfully it didn't. The minute I started I got really sucked in and managed to finish the whole book in a day. It was a fascinating take on the Beauty & the Beast tale and I was not expecting it to go in the direction it did.
Initially I thought this was gonna be just an ordinary contemporary read with maybe some mystery and intrigue but it ended up being so much more. I'm not sure if I should say what because it might be spoilery. Maybe this was left out of the blurb intentionally? I'm not sure. Just know that there is more to this book than what you might think. The characters of Raven and Gideon were really interesting. Raven was a really cool character to read about, she had such a gothic and steampunk like style. I loved the descriptions of the clothes she designed. She did annoy me a couple times because of her indecisiveness and constantly switching her mind though. Gideon of course was the expected brooding, mysterious and damaged type, but I did like him. He has a dark secret that I really was not expecting. It was an interesting element to the story and I think this was the main think I liked about the book. The romance element felt maybe a bit rushed. Even though they had been sharing the same house for months, I think they may have fallen too hard too fast for each other. I feel like there wasn't enough time spent on them getting to know each other really. Actually I kind of feel this way about a few aspects of the story. I think they could have done with being explored more in-depthly.
Overall though I did enjoyed this book. It was a mysterious, creepy and intriguing read....more

After reading excerpts and participating in the book blitz for this book, I was really intrigued. When the author contacted the blog requesting a review I jumped at the chance. And although I'm disappointed I didn't love it, I still enjoyed the book and managed to finish it in one sitting. The story is full of mystery and suspense. At times I wasn't sure what was gonna happen next. The book held my attention and made me not want to put it down. Daniels has created a fascinating world and we have only just scratched the surface of it.
Now while the story itself was interesting, my main reason for giving 3 stars has to do with the characters. I never really connected with them. I'm not really sure what it was but they just came across a little...flat. I think there was too much trying to be packed into such a short book that not enough time was spent on character development. And the relationship between Maylin and Thane progressed way too fast for my liking. They knew each other about a day and they were already making out (I'm pretty sure it was only a day). I know if I was kidnapped by a vampire, which I had always thought was myth, I would not be making out with him the next day. I can maybe reason that because Maylin had been locked away for the last 2 years that she was craving some human (or vampire in this case) contact that she kind of latched onto Thane, but I still would have preferred their relationship to have been more fleshed out.
Apart from all that though I did enjoy the story. The ending has me looking forward to book 2. I'm excited to see where the story will go from here.

The main thing to draw me to this book was one word. Dragons. Any time I see the word dragon I'm like a meerkat popping it's head up. I love dragons and if a book is about them then there is a very strong chance I will read it. Dragons Are People, Too though was such a unique take on dragons. These are were-dragons and I think I've only read one other book about people that can shift into dragons and it was nothing like this. I absolutely loved Nicolas' take on them. This urban fantasy was action-packed, exhilarating and highly entertaining. It has such a diverse set of characters and I loved the protagonist, Kitty. She had all the characteristics I love: snarky, tough, and well able to kick some butt. And her side-kick Sani was also great. The two of them make a brilliant team and I loved watching them work together.
The story itself is very fast paced and has no shortage of action. The world building was done really well too. The history of dragons and DIC wasn't made overly complicated. It was easy to understand and follow and I never felt lost. The book is very well written and I just found myself completely immersed in this world. I stayed up until well after 3am to finish it, I just could not put it down. I really hope there will be a sequel because I need more! A fab start to what I hope will be an amazing series. So obviously this book was awesome. It is by Airicka Phoenix after all. Everything that woman writes I love and this one was no exception. While it was more along the erotic side than I usually read, it still had a great story line with a fantastic cast of characters.
The main thing I absolutely adore about Airicka's books are her snarky characters. They always make the most interesting reads. Ali and Gabe have an instant disliking to each other and the hostility between them was brilliant. I love the hate-to-love stories cause they are always so much fun. Ali was very likable and was easy to connect with. She was funny, witty, insecure but brave. She had a really tough childhood that has followed her to adulthood and as such she is a bit of an introvert. The anonymity of voyeurism appeals to Ali (Aoife), and even if the "relationship" she begins with Gabe (Q) wouldn't necessarily be something I would do, we all have a little voyeurism inside of us. That's another thing that makes Airicka's books great. There is always something relatable to be found in them.
As always, Airicka has written a swoon worthy male lead in the form of Gabriel. The man was intense, domineering, brooding, broken, and so very very hot. I may have liked for there to have not been as big of an age gab as there was, but I let it slide. The connection that "Q" and "Aoife" share was great to read about and I loved that not all their interactions were about sex. Even though they made a deal to form no attachments, that's just what they did. They became so much more to each other.
I'm not really sure what else I can say. This was an intense, sexy, heartbreaking, funny and all around amazing read. I highly recommend it!

I knew going in to this book that it would be a tough one to read. I knew that there would be aspects that would be hard to stomach and that it wouldn't be a light read. And god was I right. This book was so gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking, I think I was in tears for most of it. Andrews wrote a story that ripped out my heart and stomped all over it. Even days later, any time I think of it my stomach cramps up because it was just so upsetting. A book may have a tough subject matter, but unless I am able to connect with and sympathize with the characters, it is tough for me to be affected by it. But Juhan and Chosi were written so well that it was hard not to connect with them. The things these two go through is horrendous. Especially Chosi as she is sold into blood sport. The book is told in dual 1st person POV. I always enjoy 1st person more as it allows me to truly get into the characters head, to feel what they feel. Sometimes though I almost wished this book was in 1st person because I didn't think I could take anymore sadness and heartbreak. There were a couple things that I would have liked a little bit more of, like Chosi and Jemes. But maybe that's for the best because I was upset enough as it was lol. And omg there were so many times when I didn't know whether I was suppose to love or hate certain characters. My heart didn't know what to do!
This book was so well written. It was so descriptive and imaginative. I've said this before but I really am in awe of people that are able to create whole new worlds and galaxies like this. Andrews has created something amazing here. I kind of wish this was a standalone because I can't go through much more heartbreak! But I am so looking forward to book 2. Especially after that ending! This is a violent, soul-crushing, intoxicating read about survival and the lengths someone will go to for the person they love. An absolute must read!...more

This review is gonna be short and sweet because I'm not gonna mention anything about the plot. This is the type of book that I recommend you go in blind. As the story progressed there were so many wonderful surprises that my heart nearly exploded. The characters, oh god they were all amazing. Alice was one of the best female protagonists I have ever come across. She was so kick-ass and feisty and so well written. All the characters were. Such a variety of personalities, I loved them all. And Finn? Swoon! You will fall head over heels for this guy. I also adored Lyons' writing style. The book was so intelligently written and the words just flowed effortlessly across the page. And the attention to detail! I can't imagine how much research Lyons did for this series. I am in complete awe. One of the most creative and unique books I have ever read. There were a few grammar mistakes but because I got an eARC I am not gonna mark down for that. I will assume the final copy doesn't have them.

I was immediately intrigued by this book after reading the blurb. And the second I started reading it I was hooked. I could not put it down! I would have finished it in like a day if life didn't get in the way. Gabriel/Tom was such a fascinating character, and the author wrote him really well. We get a few sections from his POV which was great for learning how much he is struggling. My heart really broke for him and I just wanted to give both Gabriel and Tom a big hug. While Gabriel could be an ass a lot of times, and had terrible anger issues, this just helped to more define his multiple personalities. The author did her research on this disorder and it showed.
Now while I loved this aspect of the story, my main reason for not giving a higher rating has to do with Caden. I just could not connect with her. She annoyed me for so much of the book. When we meet her she is coming out of an abusive relationship and I did feel bad for her but she made some really stupid decisions. She basically left one bad relationship for another. She was trying to change herself, to become more strong, but she still came across weak and helpless and a bit immature. There were so many times I wanted to slap some sense into her. And her inner thoughts were so repetitive. So much back and forth. She showed a little bit of growth by the end of the book but I would have liked more. And I didn't find her intense feelings for Gabriel that believable. It was almost a case of insta-love but not quite. For me I would have liked their feelings for each other to have taken a bit longer to develop.
Apart from Caden though I did enjoy this book a lot. I loved the moral and ethical questions raised about whether it was right to start something up with someone with two personalities. Going in I thought it was a standalone but I'm so glad there is gonna be a sequel. That ending was such a twist! I can't wait to find out what will happen next!...more

I was looking for something light and fun and this one seemed like the perfect fit. And it was. I really enjoyed this book, it was super fun and super cute. I really liked Alexis as a protagonist. She wasn't perfect but that made her more likable. She might come across a little condescending and entitled but she showed a great amount of growth as the book went on. She was actually a very compassionate and caring person. And I loved that she stood up for her friends and for herself. Although I wish she would have stood up to her mother more. I really did not like her mother. She was so stuck up and entitled and was constantly putting Alexis down because she was more into sports than her "looks". She's a pageant mom and is obsessed with Alexis' seven year old sister's "career". I cannot stand pageants, especially for little kids, so she really grated on my nerves. I would have told her off so many times if I was Alexis.
The romance in the book was really sweet and progressed at a nice pace. There was no insta-love, and Noah and Alexis had great chemistry. Noah was so sweet and kind and was so nice to everyone. He's so loyal to his friends and family and my heart broke for him when I found out what he had to deal with. There was also a great host of secondary characters and I would actually love books about a few of them. There's some of them that I really want to know more about.

Usually I am in favor of leaving the happily ever after to our own imaginations. I like reading about the build up to the relationship and the beginning of it. Sometimes when we get the HEA in epilogues, it doesn't feel right to me. Like it's too rushed or not that realistic. But this book? This is how it should be done! The relationship between Liz and Landon was so real and believable. The stress of planing a wedding and the arguments they get into wasn't overdone or overly dramatic. It was all amazing. And omg these two couldn't have been more perfect for each other. Liz was hilarious and Landon was a such sweetheart (even if there was one part where I wanted to smack him!). I laughed and cried so much. Cassie why do you do this to me?! If I don't find my own Landon I am gonna be so upset! xD

What can I say about Darkness? This book was just everything I was hoping for and more. I didn't think I could fall any more in love with this series but I was wrong. My love grew tenfold with this book. Cho continues to amaze and dazzle with his spellbinding storytelling. I am seriously in awe of the world this author has created. So much happens in this book and I was sucked in right from page 1. When Florence learns of a terrible prophecy, she will risk everything to undercover the truth. Venturing in to the Darkness, Florry and friends encounter terrifying monsters and more, dodging death at every turn. Like the first two books, the story is told in 1st person from Florence's POV. However we do get chapters here and there that focus on other characters. I really liked this as it helped to move the plot along and gave more insight in to what was happening in the background. As always I loved Florry. She is a brilliant character, so strong and determined. Now that Niemela is her home, she does whatever she can to save it from the Darkness. She is truly a character to admire.
I just seriously adored this book. The story-line is fantastic; full of mystery, heart-stopping action, and a sweet romance. I love the direction the author has taken with mer. This is the first book by this author I have read and I think after this one I will definitely be checking out her other books. This one was really funny. I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud. The wit and sarcasm were off the charts. The story is well paced. A lot going on so I never felt bored. The characters were entertaining but my god they frustrated me to no end! No one would just come out and say exactly what they felt! They would all just skirt around the issue. This got quite annoying but not enough to make me stop reading. The presence of a love triangle also wasn't my cup of tea but it was bearable. Mainly cause I loved Blake! That dude was awesome :) Don't get me wrong, I was team Grennedy all the way, but I still had a soft spot for Blake. Kennedy I did like but my god could she be such a bitch. I seriously love that girl, she is just all kinds of awesome. It was fun watching the relationship between her and Lukas develop more. They are a great couple and couldn't be more perfect for each other. They had some really sweet and some really intense moments and it was fun watching them bicker over how far to take things as Lukas is so old-fashioned. A character that I am growing a bit of a soft spot for is Valefar. He may be Jessie's "Master" now, as he likes to remind her, but there's more to him than meets the eye. I'm definitely eager to find out more about him in the next books and learn how deep his ties to the Darker family runs.
Like in book #1, there was plenty of action and some really kick-ass scenes. Never a dull moment to be had. There was also lots of twists and turns and shocking truths revealed which just had me glued to my kindle. I was hooked! And I really loved the connections between past and present that were unveiled. It was really interesting learning more about the Darker ancestors. The book ended with dozens of questions still to be answered so I can't wait for book #3 to see what is to come next for Jessie and gang. The wait is killing me!...more

It's over!! *cries* I can't believe it's over. I seriously love this series. I didn't think it could get any better because I absolutely adored book 1. But I was wrong. The Revolution of Ivy was amazeballs! Packed with action and suspense, I could not put it down. Ivy goes on such a journey through this book. She grows so much, I loved watching her become her own person and become so strong. And the relationship between Ivy and Bishop? One of the best ones I have ever read about. They are absolutely perfect, each others pillar of support. And I did not think I could love Bishop any more than I already did. He pushed Ivy when she began to close off, and he was never afraid to tell her exactly what she needed to hear. He is just amazing. And I adored the new characters, Ash and Caleb. They were such great friends to Ivy.
I won't tell you anything about the actual story other than the ending is just all kinds of perfect. It is heartbreaking, bittersweet, and the best way to end the series. I am so sad to say goodbye to these characters, I have come to care for them so much. Thank you Ms Engel for creating such beautiful books. They are going to stay with me forever....more
