Oh. My. God. I really am stuck for words. This book blew me away. Even days later I can't get it out of my head. This review is gonna be short and sweet because I'm not gonna mention anything about the plot. This is the type of book that I recommend you go in blind. As the story progressed there were so many wonderful surprises that my heart nearly exploded. The characters, oh god they were all amazing. Alice was one of the best female protagonists I have ever come across. She was so kick-ass and feisty and so well written. All the characters were. Such a variety of personalities, I loved them all. And Finn? Swoon! You will fall head over heels for this guy. I also adored Lyons' writing style. The book was so intelligently written and the words just flowed effortlessly across the page. And the attention to detail! I can't imagine how much research Lyons did for this series. I am in complete awe. One of the most creative and unique books I have ever read. There were a few grammar mistakes but because I got an eARC I am not gonna mark down for that. I will assume the final copy doesn't have them.
Everything about this book was flawless. Pure gold. Not only one of my favourite reads of the year, but of all time. I cannot recommend this one enough! Now bring on book 2!

What can I say about Darkness? This book was just everything I was hoping for and more. I didn't think I could fall any more in love with this series but I was wrong. My love grew tenfold with this book. Cho continues to amaze and dazzle with his spellbinding storytelling. I am seriously in awe of the world this author has created. So much happens in this book and I was sucked in right from page 1. When Florence learns of a terrible prophecy, she will risk everything to undercover the truth. Venturing in to the Darkness, Florry and friends encounter terrifying monsters and more, dodging death at every turn. Like the first two books, the story is told in 1st person from Florence's POV. However we do get chapters here and there that focus on other characters. I really liked this as it helped to move the plot along and gave more insight in to what was happening in the background. As always I loved Florry. She is a brilliant character, so strong and determined. Now that Niemela is her home, she does whatever she can to save it from the Darkness. She is truly a character to admire.
I just seriously adored this book. The story-line is fantastic; full of mystery, heart-stopping action, and a sweet romance. I love the direction the author has taken with mer. It's such a unique take. I really hope I won't have to wait another 2 years for the 4th book because I NEED it!! I know there is so much more still to happen and I cannot wait to find out what will come next. I really cannot recommend this series enough. Without a doubt one of my all time favourites.

It's over!! *cries* I can't believe it's over. I seriously love this series. I didn't think it could get any better because I absolutely adored book 1. But I was wrong. The Revolution of Ivy was amazeballs! Packed with action and suspense, I could not put it down. Ivy goes on such a journey through this book. She grows so much, I loved watching her become her own person and become so strong. And the relationship between Ivy and Bishop? One of the best ones I have ever read about. They are absolutely perfect, each others pillar of support. And I did not think I could love Bishop any more than I already did. He pushed Ivy when she began to close off, and he was never afraid to tell her exactly what she needed to hear. He is just amazing. And I adored the new characters, Ash and Caleb. They were such great friends to Ivy.
I won't tell you anything about the actual story other than the ending is just all kinds of perfect. It is heartbreaking, bittersweet, and the best way to end the series. I am so sad to say goodbye to these characters, I have come to care for them so much. Thank you Ms Engel for creating such beautiful books. They are going to stay with me forever....more
I'll be honest. When I first heard about this one I was a bit hesitant to read it because I absolutely hate taxidReview and Giveaway: The Shadow Realm
I'll be honest. When I first heard about this one I was a bit hesitant to read it because I absolutely hate taxidermy. I can't stand the thought of animals being treated that way. But because this is Nikki Godwin I knew I had to give it a shot because I have adored everything this woman has wrote so far. I went into this with an open mind and I am so glad I did because like all of Godwin's other books, I loved it. I'm not sure what I can say about this book and about my love for it. I loved the crazy cast of characters, especially Levi, the living Nightmare Before Christmas. I loved Jude's hobby of collecting broken glass in the colours of the rainbow. And I loved this quote:
“Maybe broken doesn’t mean you’re shattered,” Dad says, apparently in favor of an explanation. “It just means you feel every piece of your soul. Maybe you’re not meant to feel like one complete piece, but instead, a lot of different pieces that complete you. Sort of like your glass collection. You couldn’t form the rainbow without the broken pieces of each color.”
This book was heart-warming. It was quirky. It was fun. And it was everything I've come to love about this authors writing. Even though I didn't exactly like what they were doing, I was still able to enjoy the book regardless. I could appreciate why they started doing it all in the first place. Nothing will ever sell me on taxidermy but Godwin wrote about it in a way that didn't put me off reading. And I think that alone makes this book amazing.
Nothing about this book is typical. It is oh so very weird and oh so very wonderful. It seems Godwin can do no wrong. ...more

This book. Oh god this book was just...perfection. A lot of the time I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy dystopians. I was a little worried when I started the book that I wasn't in that mood, and so I would not really enjoy it that much. But thank god that not only did I enjoy it, I loved every second of it.
I won't rehash the summary as there isn't much more I can add to it. The plot is very well thought out and flawlessly written. It is very smart and not everything is as black and white as you might think it will be. It is not action packed like so many dystopians, with fight scenes every other chapter. This book didn't need it. It was so intense and suspenseful as it was. The pacing was perfectly done. It never dragged. I was lost in my kindle, I just could not pull myself away.
The characterization was amazing. There was so many layers to them, I never really knew where I stood with a lot of them. Ivy was a fantastic protagonist. Even though she is following her fathers orders and wants to stay loyal to her family, she still questions the right and wrong of her families plans. I loved that she wasn't afraid to speak her mind many times, especially to Bishop's parents. She had a quiet fierceness and strength that I really admired. Bishop I absolutely adored. He is a man who doesn't speak his mind that often, not until he truly trusts a person. Because of this we don't get to see the real him until a good bit into the book. He is a man shrouded in mystery. A wonderful love interest.
I don't know what else I can say. This was an intelligent, superb gem of a book. One of the best books I have read this year. I cannot believe I have to wait a whole year for the sequel! That is just cruel! ...more

I am so happy that JLA is doing an NA paranormal series because I was in desperate need of one. And being JLA I knew it would awesome. And my god was it! Wicked was...wicked! Lol. There is no other word to describe it. It was everything I was hoping for and more. As can be expected from JLA, the heroine was bad-ass! Ivy was tough, smart, fun, and I just loved her. And in true JLA fashion she was so snarky! I loved all the Disney references she made. And I want her roommate. Tink was...oh lord that dude was brilliant! I laughed so much at the stuff he came out with! Definitely one of the shining stars of the book lol! I can't wait for more from him in Torn. Another shining star was Ren. Oh Ren *swoon* JLA really knows how to write em. There was no shortage of smexy times to be had between these two. You might need a fan while reading this one ladies. Ren is HOT! ;)
On top of a stellar cast of characters, the story-line itself was addictive. I have always been fascinated with stories centered around Fey and the direction JLA took with them was a great twist on what I have previously read. I loved learning about all the lore. I especially loved the setting of New Orleans. I have always wanted to go there but this book just cemented my desire even more. I want to visit all the places mentioned and I definitely want to try a beignet. The book is also action-packed and I was on the edge of seat, with a death grip on my kindle so many times. My heart was racing and I just could not get enough. I finished the whole thing in like a day. JLA's writing is superb and I felt like I was actually in the book, experience everything as Ivy experiences it. And that ending?? Omg cliffhanger alert!! How long do I have to wait for Torn because I need it now!! Not fair Jennifer!
This book was just all kinds of awesome. A kick-ass and snarky leading lady, a drool worthy love interest, and a story-line that will leave you breathless. This is one book not to be missed! Bring on book #2!...more

You never cease to amaze me with your ability to turn me into a sap. This book was just too fickin CUTE! I had a grin plastered to my face like 90% of the time. I couldn't help myself. I loved every second of this book. The characters of Brea and Adam are defo my favourites of the series. I adored those two. Brea was a fantastic protagonist. She was written with such realness, it was hard not to connect with her. And Adam was the ultimate best friend. He was such a sweetheart, I just wanted to squeeze his cheeks! Too cute!
In true Cassie Mae fashion, there is no shortage of laughs to be had. The chapter titles alone had me laughing out loud more than once. There was so many hilarious moments, I'm glad I didn't read this in front of people because I think I was laughing like every 5 minutes. As well as humor though, Cassie really knows how to turn me into an emotional wreck. There were a couple scenes that had me shedding a few tears and that just made me love the book more, because it was able to affect me so much.
I'm sad to say goodbye to these characters, but the best was definitely left for last. Bookworm has become my favourite of this series. I just can't fault it. Absolute perfection.

I really did not see Ms Phoenix taking the story in this direction. I was so surprised and I loved that! I hate when a story is predictable and you can guess what's gonna happen from the get go. But not this time. Oh no, this story is in no way predictable. There are so many twists and turns you have no idea what's gonna happen next. I really do applaud Ms Phoenix for her creativity and imaginative story-telling. There are so many new elements thrown into the mix this time around. How she comes up with them all I have no idea!
Poor Fallon. That girl just cannot catch a break. Things keep going from bad to worse for her. My heart really breaks for the situation she is in. One she doesn't seem to have any control over. But at least she has Isaiah by her side. Can I make a suggestion? Isaiah is not allowed to wear a shirt ever again. I think all the ladies out there will agree with me on this :P I love that boy. Please Airicka, don't break my heart when it comes to him. There are so many new characters introduced, one of my favourites being Archer. I just have a soft spot for the sarcastic ones :P
This book has been a long time coming and I can honestly say it was well worth the wait. Full of heart-pounding action, sizzling romance, and so many new revelations you will be glued to the page! And that damn cliffhanger!! Ugh if I have to wait another year for book 3, me and Ms Phoenix will be having words! ;) I cannot recommend this woman's books enough. They are just amazing!

I am so sad to see this series come to an end. This series just kept getting better and better which each new book and GUNS was just all kinds of awesome! I so love Spencer. Just as much as I love Ford :) He was all kinds of yummy and even though he's a bit of a caveman he still stole my heart. And I was so surprised how much I loved Veronica. I didn't think I would like her all that much or connect with her but I really did! She was a great character and I think maybe my favourite of the 3 girls :) She was so bad ass! I really felt for her and what she was going through. I knew why Spencer was keeping her at a distance and I completely understood it and agreed with it but at the same time seeing Veronica so upset I just wanted him to get his head out of his and stop being an asshole. I just couldn't stand seeing her so sad
This was one hell of a way to end the series. The last couple of chapters I was on the edge of my seat. I didn't know what the hell was going on and I could not put the book down. Loved, loved, loved, LOVED!! Can I leave my review at that? :P No? Ok I’ll try to elaborate.
Every book I read by Cassie I adore and The Real Thing was no different. Cassie has a fantastic knack for writing a story that turns you into a gooey mess of emotions. One minute you are going “awwwww!” from the cuteness of it all and the next you are on the verge of tears from how heartbreaking it is. You are really put through the emotional wringer with her books. And The Real Thing was no exception. I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud or had a tear in my eye.
One of the things I loved about this book was how relatable it was. I think so many of us can relate with either Mia or Eric. I know I can relate with both. Especially when it came to Mia and her addiction to technology and the internet. But I think the majority of us will see a bit of ourselves in her :P Another think I loved about the book was Eric. So many NA books feature a bad boy with a tortured past and a girl with some sort of self-esteem issue. But never have I come across a character like Eric. It’s so rare to read about a guy with body image issues and social anxiety. He was such a breath of fresh air and I just adored him so much. Cassie discusses the topics of social anxiety and weight issues with a great sense of realism. She doesn't sugar-coat it but at the same time she doesn't fantasize it. It was handled brilliantly and so bravo to Cassie for that.
The story itself is the friends to lovers type and I always love these. What I loved even more about this book is that it didn't take them the entire book to act on their feelings for one another. It wasn't dragged out, so the entire thing wasn't taken up with the whole “will they, won’t they?” The story was about so much more than that. It was real, it was modern, it was everything.
A fantastically written book that is so much more than a love story. Everyone needs this book in their life. This book has made a home in my heart and it will forever stay there. ...more

I didn't think this series could get any better because I absolutely adored the first book. But boy was I wrong. This was an amazing sequel! I devoured this book in no time, I just couldn't put it down!
A year has passed, Haley has graduated high school and we are back on the west coast to live out our forever with our new friends. But things don't always go as planned and we suddenly find everything and everyone starting to unravel. Haley quickly realizes that a lot can change in a year, and not everything lasts forever. The one think I always love with Nikki's books is the characters. A book can have a fantastic story-line, and it can be written beautifully, but if you don't get invested in the characters lives then none of that stuff makes a difference. And when it comes to Nikki's books I always get invested. I feel like I am right there with them, going through all the emotions they are going through. And I think the characters in this series are some of my all time favourites. I just adore them all! A.J. is still my #1 but ooh Topher. You just stole the show in this book didn't you. I am so glad he got a more prominent role because when we met him in CFD I couldn't help but love this little adorable, hyper-active ball of fun. I just want to squeeze him, he is too cute! I think he has joined AJ as my favourite. We get more of an insight into some of the other characters too which I loved. A couple peoples back-stories broke my heart though. And I was happy to see some character development too which I always enjoy.
A lot happens in the book so you won't be bored! There are plenty of twist and turns to keep you entertained. Another thing I loved was that the story is very realistic. It wasn't cliche or too overly dramatic. There was also enough romance to keep the romantic in me happy ;) I'm not gonna say anything about the actually plot because you need to experience it as you read but the one thing I will say is prepare yourself for a cliffhanger! I was not emotionally prepared for one so when I reached the last page and found out that that was the end I sat in shock for a minute because I couldn't believe Nikki would do that to me!! It was so cruel! Just...gaaaahhhh!!! I need book #3 NOW!! *breathes* I'm ok. I'm ok.
Moving on from that little outburst :P You all seriously need to read this book. If you haven't started this series yet then you are missing out! No words can express how much I truly love this woman's books....more

So. Many. Feels!! This book evoked so many emotions I don't know how I'm gonna write a proper review. I have never read anything by Theresa Paolo but I love all of Cassie Mae's books so I knew I was gonna love this book anyway. And boy did I. This book is just all kinds of awesome and of course so flipping cute. But apart from it being hilarious and really fun, it also packed an emotional punch in the sense that I wanted to bawl my eyes out! Friend-zoned stories always get to me because it's so frustration and unfair and you just want to shake the two characters and make them see what's right in front of them. And the dual POV makes it all the more frustrating cause you know that they both feel the same way about each other but they are too stubborn to realise it. I loved Ryan. Seriously adored him. He is like the perfect guy. I want one. How Lexie lasted so long without jumping his bones I do not know :P Speaking of Lexie I really liked her. She has had a pretty crappy life and I wanted her to realise what she had instead of what she didn't but I still liked her. She was strong and could stand up for herself but she was her own worst enemy. And I loved her obsession with nail polish. I want to raid her collection :P And I adored Nate and Kaylee. Those two are hilarious. I can't wait for their book!
So yeah I absolutely adored this book. It is so incredibly cute and will also make you want to have a good long cry. I can't wait for more of Lexie and Ryan! And I may check out Theresa Paolo's books!...more

Like seriously I am fangirling over how fricking cute it was! I think this has become my favourite novel by Cassie Mae. It was so adorkable and sweet and nerdy and funny and...I think you get the idea ;) I loved Sierra! I didn't know what I was gonna think of her because I didn't really like her in How to Date a Nerd but after Band Geek I think I like her even more than Zoe :) Bless her heart she is so awkward and such a glutz. It was like watching Bambi learn how to walk. Her inner monologue was hilarious. She is such a dork. And she suffers from a serious case of word vomit. I cringed so many times :P I loved Levi. He was so sweet and adorable. I felt so bad for what he was going through at home. I would have liked there to be a bit more of him in the story, to find out more about what he was going through but I'm sure we'll see more of him in the next book as it's about his sister, Brea. I loved too that we got to see more of Zak and Zoe. They are so cute together and are still the biggest geeks ever :P
So yeah if ya can't tell, I loved this book :) It was all kinds of cute and had another awesome ending! If you are looking for something light and fun and will leave you with the biggest grin on your face then this is the book for you. I cannot recommend it enough! How to Date a Nerd tells the story of Zoe, a girl who was so cruelly bullied in middle school for being a nerd that she reinvented herself when she started high school, burying her nerdiness away and becoming Popular Zoe, who, for lack of a better word, was a bit of a bitch. I was worried I wasn't gonna like her but I actually found myself really connecting with her and really liking her. Even though she has turned into someone not nice, and I wanted to slap her upside the head a couple times, I completely understood why she did it. Many of us have at one point or another hidden our real selves, fearing being laughed at and humiliated. I felt so bad for Zoe for what she went through. I really wish kids weren't such assholes and just let others be. Because seriously? Geek Zoe is fricking awesome! Her inner monologue was hilarious! I could so see myself being BFFs with her. I just wanted to jump into my kindle, hug her and tell her that being a geek is nothing to be ashamed of. I found myself tearing up a few times when she was at a low point. But then what she did at the end of the book? Hell yeah! You go girl! I loved it! A brilliant ending. Now on to Zak. Oh my god can I have one? Like seriously he is just adorable! Him and Zoe are made for each other. They are so cute and geeky together, I just love it. He could be so awkward at times but I just loved him even more. The book is very well written, the writing flows smoothly and it is so easy to read. I would have finished it in one sitting if that pesky little thing called life didn't get in the way.
Cassie Mae is quickly becoming my go to author for when I need something light and fun to read. While humorous, adorable, and packed full of nerdy awesomeness, this book is also a touching tale, with a great message to be yourself, no matter what other people think. A must read! I really can't wait for book 2, How To Seduce a Band Geek. Looking forward to more of Levi :) ...more
This was a beautifully written story about moving on, finding who you are, and learning to live life to its fullest.
I have loved everything this author has written and this book was no exception. It was such a beautiful and touching story. I loved the characters, but if I'm honest Ridge did get on my bad side a couple times. This made him come across as more real though. He wasn't perfect, but no one is. I think the author did a really great job of writing from the male perspective. I'm not a guy though so I can't really say with 100% certainty :P But it all felt very believable. And Micah I adored. He was such a sweetheart. The relationship between these two slowly built into something truly sweet and was another aspect that the author handled with realism and didn't try to fantasize. Ridge struggles with his feelings for Micah but you can see him slowly bringing down the walls he has built up. The story takes place over the course of a summer so there was no insta-love. I loved the carousel horses part of the story. It was a great way for the two boys to get to know each other and to build their friendship. The glimpses into Micah's life and his culture gave the story that bit extra dept too. It had me engaged, wanting to learn more about life on the reservation. Everything about this book was just brilliant. Nikki's writing is something that I truly adore. She describes everything in such detail and clarity that they just leap off the page. And I loved the little bit of a crossover with her sisters book that we got.
If you are looking for a sweet, moving and flawlessly written book then you need to read Falling From the Sky. I cannot recommend it enough. This book is so much more than a love story. I actually chocked up when the book was over because it left me with such a strong feeling of satisfaction. It was everything I wanted. I will never be able to look at a carousel without picturing Micah and the crazy summer journey he brought Ridge on. I 5683 this book. ...more

OK. It's official now. I love Ford. He won me over in this book and now I really and truly love him, weirdness and all. Huss has outdone herself with this book. I loved it so much more than the Rook & Ronin books. I didn't know how I would feel while reading it as I didn't really like Ford in SLACK, but dear god my heart just melted all over the floor while reading TAUT. His voice was so strong and powerful, you could feel every emotion he felt. Huss did an excellent job writing the male POV. Sometimes female authors don't pull off the male POV but Huss hit the nail on the head when it came to writing Ford.
Although the relationship Ford creates with Ashleigh could be classed as insta-love it didn't bother me. Normally I hate insta-love stories but for some reason this didn't scream insta-love so I didn't mind it. I think it's because Huss created two great characters, with such great chemistry, that it felt like they knew each other for years. I loved how Ashleigh stood up to Ford and was able to handle all his shit. She was such a strong character even though she is struggling with something horrible that happened to her. When it is revealed what it is she is dealing with I couldn't believe how the poor girl was still standing. My heart utterly broke for her. And it made me realize that these two broken people really are perfect for each other.
This book created so many feels it was hard to sort through them all. But what I ultimately ended up with was happiness. Happiness that these two people found their HEA. It sounded really intriguing and I can tell you now that it did not disappoint! I fricking LOVED this book! So many fantastic characters and a story-line jam packed with mystery and suspense, with smoking hot romance at the core.
I always love Ms. Phoenix's female characters cause they are always so snarky and Katie was no exception. She has such a dry and witty sense of humor and I loved that about her. I also loved the friendship she had with Ashlee. The two of them are hilarious together. Oh and I adored Larson too :D Kaleb on the other hand. Woah mama *fans shelf* I want one. This boy is the definition of swoon-worthy. I want to fly to Canada right now and find a Kaleb for myself :P I loved the relationship between him and Katie. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. This book was capital-S Steamy! Like seriously you will probably need a cold shower after reading some of the scenes. So be warned ladies ;)
Although the book is seriously smexy and is focused more on Katie and Kaleb's relationship, there is also a good dose of mystery and tension. Ms. Phoenix does a great job at keeping us riveted to the story and to keep us second guessing as to who is behind all the creepy messages. You were left biting your nails, anxiously awaiting what was gonna happen next.
So as usual another winner from a fantastic author. I simply adored this book. I could not put it down :) Can I request that Ashlee and Larson get a book? :P Pretty please? Those two are adorable!

As I stated in my review of Finding Kia, I absolutely love Kia and Adam. And I just loved them even more in this one. These two are just perfect for each other. And guess what?! We get Adam's POV!! Yay!!! I had never been so happy. This guy makes me swoon so hard! As for Kia? Seriously, everyone needs a friend like her. Completely loyal, amazingly trustworthy and totally kick-ass. She is one heroine to look up to.
Now, the main thing I want to talk about is Nessie. My god this poor girl! For most of the book I wanted to throttle her. Her treatment of Adam and Kia and her parents was horrible! But when I found out what she was going through? My heart broke for her. Airicka deals with a tough issue in this book. Bullying is something that a lot of people have gone through, myself included, and I want to applaud Airicka for how she tackles the issue. I teared up when I read of her own bullying history. There is a fantastic message in Revealing Kia and one I hope many will listen to. There were times when I was being bullied that I felt so alone and depressed. But I knew that I had genuine friends and that I shouldn't push them away. I found myself relating to Nessie. Even though I was never bullied to such an extreme, I still knew how she felt. I became so frustrated with her, screaming at her to not push everyone away, that she would get through this. By the end of the book I was there crying along with her, wanting to wrap her up and make the pain go away.
This is a beautifully written, heartbreaking read. I highly recommend this to those of us who have ever felt unloved or unwanted. Thank you Airicka for another phenomenal read. [PS: I would love a story about Kenny and Nessie. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge... ;)]

I loved every single thing I think this is my favourite book by Airicka that I have read so far. It was just brilliant! I utterly and truly loved it!
I loved every single thing about this book but I especially loved Kia. Without a doubt my favourite character of Airicka's. She has such a great sarcastic wit. Nearly everything she said had me laughing out loud. Right from the first page I was highlighting sentences that I loved. But bless her soul she is such a klutz I think that just made me love her more though. Can I be friends with her? Pretty please? I related with her so much. I know how it feels to feel like you don't fit in or that the guy you like won't like you for you. I empathized with her and I got why she felt like she had to change her appearance. What surprised me though was how she dealt with certain situations. I wasn't expecting her to be so spunky. I doubly loved this about her. At one point I almost shouted out loud "You go girl!". The love interest, Adam, I also loved. Swoon personified right there. He was such a great character. Him and Kia just fit. They are perfect for each other.
I have two complaints however. It was waaaay too short!! I never wanted it to end!! I was so sucked in I finished it in no time. I tried so hard to savor it and make it last as long as possible but I couldn't. I just had to know what was gonna happen next and before I knew it I was finished :( My other complaint? The ending! Airicka how could you end it like that?! That's just cruel! If I bribe you with cookies will you give me the next book? ;)
Overall this is a fantastic book with a great message. It's about learning to love the real you, to be brave, and to take a shot at life. You never know what's waiting around the corner. I am eagerly awaiting book 2!...more

This was one roller-coaster of a book. So much happens in such a short space of time. My emotions couldn't handle it all. Many many secrets come out in Panic, loyalties are questioned and Rook must decide once and for all if she can finally let the past go and stop running.
I went through so many emotions during this. Frustration, love, anger, hate. My feelings for the characters kept switching back and forth. Ronin I love. I really do. But the dude needs to cool it with all the marriage and baby stuff. You're 22 dude! You've got plenty of time to settle down. I love how Rook told him she wasn't ready, that she wanted to go to college and everything first. We learn new things about Rooks past and my god I really don't know how that girl is still standing. The things she went through is just horrible. I felt sick at the thought of what was done to her. She has grown so much from the girl we saw in the first book. I love her and Ronin together but they were a bit too mushy mushy for me in this one. Some of the things they said, especially Ronin, were very soppy and that's saying something seeing as I'm a romantic and all. Saying that though I am sad that there story has come to an end.
We don't see as much of Spencer in this as I would have liked but we do see a lot of Ford. I swear I really do not know how I feel about him. One minute I was like "Dude, you're awesome" and the next I was like "Dude you crazy". He said some things that made me hate him but then the end, the epilogue, oh god my heart. I cried. When I heard he was getting his own book I was over the moon. I can't wait to learn more about this wonderful psycho.
The story has many twits and turns to keep you hooked. The ending felt a tiny bit rushed but overall it was a great ending to Rook and Ronin's story. I love this series and I'm sad to see it come to an end but I still have Spencer and Ford's books to look forward to. If you haven't read this series yet then I highly recommend it!
Favourite Quote: “I'll ruin everything if you touch me. I'll ruin us. I'll ruin this. I'll ruin you, just like you said. I'll ruin you and I'll ruin your life. And I love you too much to ruin you. So I'm leaving.” (Cue the tears!)...more

I loved Tragic and I am so happy to say that Manic was just as good. Huss really has created a fantastic story here and I am so happy that I got to review these books.
In this book, Rook has taken on the STURGIS contract. But she really should have read the fine print before signing on the dotted line. She is after getting in way over her head, especially when she sees the cameramen setting up shop in the studio. Poor Rook. She really should have listened to Ronin before taking this job. And she realizes this straight away but that girl is one stubborn cookie and she isn't gonna let Ronin or Spencer, or new guy Ford tell her what to do.
I liked Rook for her spunk and her fighting spirit. The girl has guts. But by god she can make some stupid choices sometimes. I still love the girl but sometimes I felt like telling her to take a step back and really think about things before jumping in head first. She wants to do things her way but I still felt like she kind of let Ronin push her around too much. For someone who is escaping an abusive and controlling ex, she did seem to let other people make a lot of decisions for her. She didn't back down from the STURGIS contract, I'll give her that. She knew she made a mistake but she still stuck with it. I admired her tenacity.
The male characters I love in this book. Especially Spencer. He is hilarious and I wouldn't mind letting him paint on me ;) I would so love to see all the body art he painted on Rook, especially the last piece. From the way Huss described it it sounds amazing! Ford I didn't like at the start but he soon began to grow on me and by the end I loved him. I think he was a great friend to Rook, really looking out for her. I loved this quote from him.
“I’m not trying to fix you, I’m just trying to give you the tools to fix yourself.”
Him, Ronin and Spencer have a past together and it was exciting learning about them all. They really made a formidable trio. Ones not to be messed with. Ronin kind of annoyed me in this one. I can understand where he is coming from with not wanting Rook to do this contract and I completely understand his jealousy but his domineering crap pissed me off sometimes. I know he is Rook's manager as well as her boyfriend and he is only looking out for her. I loved that he was so caring and protective of her but I still think he needed to tone it down a bit and not keeping so many secrets from her. We got to learn a lot more about Ronin and some of it really surprised me. I loved that some of the story was in his POV as it really added to the overall story. Another thing that slightly bothered me was I kind of felt like they were maybe going a bit too fast in their relationship, especially with Ronin talking about wanting a family and everything. He's only 22 (I think). He has plenty of time before settling down. And Rook is 19. She should not need to be thinking about this. And I'm really glad that she told him she wanted to go to college. She had no intentions of starting a family any time soon.
The ending was perfect. What Ronin, Spencer and Ford did for Rook was awesome and completely genius. A lot of things got resolved and so I'm excited to see where Huss is gonna take the story from here. I really love this series. It's original and not that predictable. And it's slightly addictive lol. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a hot, sexy read with a whole host a smexy guys. ...more

Oh lord *fans self* I need to cool down. Someone get me a drink. And something to cool down my kindle too, I can see the steam rising from it. Lord, Airicka you really know how to write the smexy don’t cha ;) I’m so glad I didn’t read this in public because I don’t think I would have been able to hide the blush that dominated my face for most of the book. Seriously ladies, brace yourselves for Mason because holy wow. Yum. I want one. I fell in love with this man straight away. Airicka has written another phenomenal book boyfriend that had me swooning every time he appeared.
But enough about Mason. Julie needs some attention too because I think I’m in love with that girl too. She was Bad. Ass. Like seriously cool. I loved watching her kicking the shit out people. You go girl! You awesome :) The chemistry Mason and Julie had was great, and as I’ve mentioned, they had some seriously hot scenes. Ladies you do not want to read this book in public. You have been warned :P
But even though the book is very romance heavy, there were also some very chilling and intense scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat. Especially coming near the end of the book, I could not put my kindle down. I was hooked! You will be second guessing throughout most of the book as to who the bad guy was. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep you biting your nails in anticipation. Ms. Phoenix really knows how to write suspenseful, thrilling books so I cannot wait for more like this from her. I have to give a shout out to the secondary characters, one in particular. Shaun. That guy was such an asshole throughout the book. I really wanted to sucker punch him. He pissed me off to no end. But by the end I actually found myself growing a bit of a soft spot for him and wanted to know more about him. So I am now gonna bribe Airicka with cookies to make her write a book about him :P I want more from Shaun.
Overall this was another gloriously addictive read from a fantastic author. A psychological thriller that packs a sexy punch. This is one book that will keep you up all night. A must read! ...more

The characters were brilliant! There was noGod this book was like a breath of fresh air. It was exactly what I want a book to be. It was just perfect.
The characters were brilliant! There was no unnecessary drama or stupid decisions. They were so level headed. Rory I want to hug. She thought everything through, never jumped to silly conclusions and was not afraid to go after what she wanted when all was said and done. She stuck to her guns, was never whiny and was over all the most sensible character I've ever come across. I loved her because of that. Tyler I also loved. His situation broke my heart I just wanted to hug him and protect him from all the bad things in his life. He was so sweet and protective of Rory. He just wanted to do the right thing even if he ended up getting hurt. He wanted the best for Rory. Their relationship was so sweet and heart-warming, but at the same time heart-breaking. Rory's friends I loved as well. Even though they were like polar-opposites to Rory in the sense that they were party animals and she wasn't they were still great friends to her. They were so loyal and thought that they were doing the right thing by helping their friend out with her "situation". One tiny thing that slightly bugged me though was when Rory found out that her friends payed Tyler to sleep with her. She never even confronted her friends over it. I would have been a little bit more upset over that but I could still understand Rory's logic behind not telling them. She didn't want to start into a big fight with her friends because she didn't want to lose them but I still think she should have said something.
There is so much more to this story than just Rory trying to lose her virginity. It is as much Tyler's story as it is hers. The situation that he is in is so heartbreaking and crushing and you really feel for him. I so wanted everything to work out for these two because Tyler really deserved to have a happy ending.
If I keep babbling on I'm just gonna start repeating myself. All you need to know is that this book is perfect and you need to read it! Do it! You won't regret it. And I cannot wait for the next book for Jessica and Riley's story :) I know it's gonna be just as awesome.
