At this moment, I feel as if the ending was a little rushed. I always enjoyed Penryn's fight sequences, but you don't see a ton of cool action on her end except for her sword fighting. Although Penryn and Raffe were more open about their feelings, I still felt that the end was cut too short. I only purchased this book due to the high ratings, some promises of it not really being a YA novel, and the cost of the ebook. Even after my purchase, I didn't pick it up until yesterday. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. It is pretty gory, and I have to admit that I kinda like the insane mom. (view spoiler)[ I also have no idea how Paige's role will be played out in the next book. (hide spoiler)]
This series has the making of something as awesome as the Fever series for me. As much as I am a sucker for romance novels, I find myself more invested/obsessed with books that have an engaging plot as the main show with a slow building relationship in the backdrop. I can't wait for book 2....more
