So I'm gonna say 3.5 and leave it at that. One Shot was so cute. I loved the way that both characters had to deal with a height change. The complication of being the same person but being viewed as someone completely new was interesting, and the romance was cute as well....more

Spent a little over four hours just reading. It strikes a great balance between erotica and romance. Griffin is a monster, but he learns to become human with Ryder's/Toby's help. The first book is pure kink material, (Personally I'm not big into the pet play, but it almost worked for me in this instance) while the second book really starts to get into the emotional aspect of their relationship. I spent a lot of time unbearably hot, and unbearably sad at the terrible situation these characters find themselves in. If you are a fan of themes of restricted freedom, obsessive/possessive love, damaged love interest, puppy/kitty play, humiliation, and sap; then definitely give these books a shot.
Also, a lot of m/m books I review are available with Amazon Unlimited, (these two included) so if you haven't gotten it, and you find yourself reading a lot of m/m fiction, it's definitely worth the buy. I'll probably make a tag for books available on Amazon Unlimited if you want to check it out....more

This was my first dive (haha, get it?) Into tentacle play. Wow what a strange thing to just put out there, but we're in it now, so I'm just gonna go in. I really enjoyed this book. It combined so many elements that I'm desperate to see in my romance/erotica that are very rare. Things like a truly evil love interest, One sided love, obsessive/possessive love interest, non-con/dub-con, forced bonding, and drugged out delirium making the main character needy and pliable. Yeah, reading that list it sounds mega creepy, but that kinda does it for me too. Like I said, just gonna put it all out there. I'm glad I took a step outside of my comfort zone to read this book, because as soon as I got it I couldn't put it down until it was finished.
**Edit*** just remembered that this book reminded me of one of my other favorite M/M books, 'Want Me' by Rowan Mcbride. It has the same twisted horror feel, and the mental manipulation/mind control is there as well. I'd love to find more books of this type because for some reason it really gets to me....more

There are no excuses made for Mercury's behavior, there is only the blurred lines of morality that Sean begins to question the longer he gets to know Mercury and his motivations. I love when a story can make you love a villian, and you can't help but love everything about Mercury. I really enjoyed this book, and the cliffhanger ending had me desperate to read the second book. I was a bit disappointed when it began to delve into a darker territory that I, personally, didn't want to read for these characters. I DNF'D book two around 25%, but I would definitely recommend this series if you are a fan of GFY, hero worship, posessive lover, and a thicc big boi top....more

I kept avoiding it because the cover art seemed so poor. Thank god I was bored enough to give it a shot because this was so much more than a hot D/s book like I had assumed.
Yes, it is hottt, but it also has strong and interesting characters, along with a really fun and nerve wracking plot. The sex scenes were done so well. When Aedan is being forced into sexual service, the act isnt written to turn you on, but rather to explain Aedan's abuse. When he has loving sex, the difference is very clear.
I loved how Aedan and Demetrios both evolved throughout the book, both as a couple and as individuals. I loved how Cordelia handled Aedan's slavery as well, it was made clear that Aedan has a terrible life, but since it is the only one he knows it is hard for him to recognize. This made for such a compelling character arc, and the author definitely capitalizes on it.
The worldbuilding/magic system wasn't anything incredible, but it was very solid and unique. It held up well under the storyline, and it made for a well rounded book.

But I'm very picky. Drago Star hit none of my buttons. Sexy wise- I like to read books with a possessive Dom, someone who is not going to share. That whole caveman trope- ie Bloodraven, really gets me going. This is nothing like that. The female dom trainer was a no go, as well as the gang rape scenes. Plot wise- this is erotica, so of course there is no plot, and that's not an issue for me, (although I wouldn't complain if there was) but the fact that this story was so short really made the twist ending unwelcome and unnecessary, causing the book to feel tame and kinda wierd at the end....more

Nicholi's vengeance was that book for a torturous 80% of the read. That isn't to say it wasn't interesting, it was just incredibly hard to sit through all of the suffering Nichi endured. I found myself angry this entire read, waiting for the vengeance Nichi was fighting towards. It fell painfully short, however. The rage, shame, and fear is such a large part of this book I was surprised by the mellow ending. Normally I love a good HEA with a nice romance to go with it, but something about this book had me craving an explosive ending, something that fits with Nichi's passion and determination. And I never felt Nichi's relationships with any of his owners should have led to such a tame and anticlimactic end....more

Timing was short but sweet. Some of the things Rand said had me giggling from the romance overload. Of course, I really enjoyed the slight possessive streak Rand and Stef had for each other. The enemies to lovers trope, while not as fleshed out as I would have liked, was still a great fit.
The fact that this blurb mentions a murder had me shying away, because honestly I'm only here for the romance, and I was concerned that the story would be overpowered by the secondary plot. It turns out I didn't have to be worried, because the opposite happened. Honestly the book wouldn't have felt different at all had the surprise murderer not made an appearance.
It seemed to me that the secondary plot was a waste of valuable time, with the length of this book being what it is. I would have preferred more angst with the relationship between Stef and Rand, but I am overall happy with this book. It was a fun read with a cute relationship and HEA....more

For one, I felt that the doomsday prepper vibe that Taron had was a big turn off, as well as how he handled a lot of situations in this book.
But....As always, the possessive side to Taron, as well as his lumberjack body, worked well with me.
Then again, I really didn't like how the conflict was "resolved" at the end. It felt like a cop out, and a good bit of juicy storytelling fell by the wayside; which left me less than happy.
It's hard to give a negative review, though, because I've always been a fan of darker reads, especially ones with kidnapping/forced relationships.
But this honestly didn't go dark enough for me. I have no issues rooting for the villian in a story, but the author spent too much time trying to justify Taron's actions.
Plus..I honestly didn't feel much connection to Taron and Colin as a couple, and felt that their only real spark was the explosive sex....more
