I truly hated this book. In all fairness I didn't read Harry Potter which the media compares tis to. Alice Hoffman is my style of magic..and that is bI truly hated this book. Alice Hoffman is my style of magic..and that is because I like novels with interesting well drawn characters, you won't find that in The Night Circus. What I found most annoying is the slow pace, I would say that the book is roughly 80% descriptions...ugh...bored me to tears. The so called love story was incredibly lame and had no depth, no romance. I would have easily quit reading this book half way through had it not been for all the hype. I just had to keep reading, hoping it would become this fascinating novel all the reviewers said it was. Even Entertainment Weekly gave it an "A" Whatever it is that America loves about this novel was lost on me....more
