Alice is stubborn, wilful, definitely does not play by the rules, is not a push over, and she says what she thinks. She is however pushed to her limits when the residents decide to play Cupid. James is looking for peace and quiet and starting over but his patience is tested when the town rally together and make his life miserable. They decide to fake things and thus the “fun” begins. This charming tale has it all. It is witty, full of banter, a touch angsty, lots of sexual tension, with a bit of spice and will have you laughing. It is a good read to escape reality for a while. Wareeze stories are told in the distinctive style of descriptive language for the period, which makes the story flow slowly whilst trying to get the hang of it. The writing is very descriptive, and perhaps too much so at times often leaving me wondering the point of its intent. There are lots of loose ends and unanswered questions and it seemed that others were just glossed over leaving the reader to guess what may have happened.
This poor young woman recently married is thrust into a life of loneliness as her husband is called off to war not long after. It is the events she endures whilst he is away that leave her in a place where terrifying events are taking place, wondering what is hidden in the shadows, distrust, hostility and more. Laurel was a contradiction whilst she was strong in some ways she wasn’t in others. I would have liked to have seen her have a voicing her opinions rather letting things go to keep the peace.

Unfortunately, I discovered after I had finished this book that it is the third book in the Irresistible series, but I did not feel like I was missing out on anything. He is not a man looking for love or so he thought. Then she walked into the room and his heart started beating again. Amanda is a romantic at heart and wants that for herself. She thinks it is within her reach until she discovers Mr Right has come at the wrong time. This charming yet emotional tale has it all. It is a heartbreaker, it is witty, full of banter, a touch angsty, lots of sexual tension, made with lots of sugar and spice and plenty of steam and is a tearjerker. Marilyn’s writing style flows easily and writes characters so likable they feel so real, and they capture your heart. Her narrative is so vivid you can easily imagine all that she describes. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from her. A definite must read! ...more

Once again Gumshoe the cat takes to the fore with his wicked sense of humour and crazy ways to help Mia uncover the plot of the murders taking place and unravel the mystery surrounding them.
I really enjoyed this fast-paced twisty action filled mystery and absolutely love Gumshoe as a character and his trusty partner Mia.
No matter your age Laura is a fantastic storyteller and definitely one author that should be on everyone’s TBR list.
I can't wait to see what comes next in the series!

I love how it was written in the multiple POV because it gives the story that much more meaning and understanding of them as people. It’s so easy for the characters to capture your heart and feel invested in them.
Marina has a way of telling a story that makes if feal real. Her writing transports you into the story and the world she has created. I enjoy her sense of humour that comes through in her words and has me laughing out loud. I have said it before, but I will say it again – Marinas words just click, and I can’t get enough.
It is a fun easy read, a tale of friendships and love, letting go of the past and building trust. It is a story of the heart wants what the heart wants, and it is not always what you would like it to be. I know what it’s like to9 want someone who likes someone else.
There is a lot of sass, intense moments, angst and a little drama and some cute times that makes for some fab reading. The story is a little predictable near the ending, but I still really enjoyed it.

I have only previously read one book by Meredith and really enjoyed it. Meredith writing style paints a vivid picture of this new world. The world building was intricate but well woven together. The characters are fleshed out, fully realised and well written. They may be broken but they take charge and forge ahead. Rowan and Arryn’s adventure is full of action, violence, danger and monsters. Two people from different worlds with misconceived idea’s, misunderstandings and miscommunications start these characters on an even rockier road as they go from enemies-to-lovers. It did take a minute to settle in with the characters but thankfully they are revealed as the layers are peeled back and do grow on you. There is a lot going on in the background in this fast-paced tale that is full of magic, a bit of mystery, some sassiness, a touch of humour, banter, and some steamy romance. Meredith’s exciting new world has many characters. There are elves, dwarves, dragons, and strange shadow monsters. This exciting book will appeal to anyone who enjoys reading paranormal fantasy romantic tales. I need to read more of this series....more

I recommend reading the first book before this one to get the background and history of the characters as they continue in this story. I loved the first book but this one is even better and is my favourite so far.
Seelie’s cleverly woven plot, where the suspense is palpable, had me on the edge of my seat, as they race against time to stop terrorists. I loved every bit of the action and adventure, the danger and lets not forget the humour and banter that had me laughing. Even though it is a short story it definitely packs a punch and keeps you on your toes.
The easy comradery, friendship and love between the characters and their antics makes them and their journey all the more real.
I look forward to and can’t wait to see what Seelie has in store for us with the next book and beyond....more

I love the characters whom are very endearing and very realistic and their chemistry and antics and their easy comradery and banter.

Paulette gives enough backstory in this book, so you don’t have to read the first one, but it does follow on and you are missing a lot. I like Paulette’s writing style and after enjoying book one was ready to jump in. I enjoyed the first book but am a little torn with this book. Rebecca actions were a little disappointing to start with, she is getting to do her dream job but at what cost. She does however redeem herself a bit after a while. The first book was more about Rebecca and her wants and needs but in this book, we get to learn more about Kyle. This tale is filled with lots of emotions, angst, disgust, drama, and lots, lots more. Paulette handles a delicate and taboo subject well and unfortunately it is something that is not discussed enough. It is also a subject that not many thinks happen unfortunately. Kyle has suffered sexual assault at the hands of a powerful woman, and it seems their paths are about to cross again. He finally has to open up and shares the shame and degradation he suffered with Rebecca, but she only thinks of herself. I was very disappointed in her actions. I read this in about two days and really wanted to know what was going to happen and if Rebecca and Kyle's plan would work out. I look forward to seeing how the next book pans out as I feel that there are some loose ends. As with the first book I think this is one story that you will either really like or not. ...more

The characters are beautifully written, and the storyline is intriguing. It is easy to imagine this world that Cori has created and brought to life. This is a must read for those that like a story that is full of magic, dreams, fantasy, wishes, wants, hopes, a twist or two and much more. Becky’s narrative is told through different POV’s which I really enjoy in a story because we learn so much more about the characters this way. The characters are fully realised, complex and you can’t help but become invested in them and feel that you are in on the journey with them. Doyle is determined that nothing will happen to her but with her unstable stalker on the lose nothing is guaranteed. Hannah just wants her life back but with someone out there lurking in the shadows her life will never be the same again. The chemistry between Hannah and Doyle is undeniable and I really, really liked them. How far would you go to save the one you love?

Holly Claus collects cheers and one small town changes things for her so much that Christmas could be in jeopardy. Chasing Cheer is the perfect book to curl up with a hot chocolate if you in the colder months like me or sip a glass of wine enjoying the warm weather.
