Gian is the grandson of the mafia boss. He is a made man, his dream come true. He has the looks, the personality and the sexy accents. Hard to resist!
Cara is a student. She is from a mafia family, but has left her home to avoid getting mixed up with that way of life. After losing someone close to her, she is more determined to have a normal life.
Cara has shut herself from the world after her loss. She is having a hard time coming to terms with this terrible ordeal. She needs a push! This push comes along in the form of a friend who convinces her to go on a night out. She reluctantly agrees, maybe it will help to get her out of this rut. Gian, the owner of the club spots her and makes a beeline for her. It's his duty to know his club's patrons!
He is confident in his approach and before long, they are chatting to each other. Followed by a dance. Then sex. Nothing serious! A casual affair. Before they know it, they start craving each other. The casual approach is not working and they are now addicted. Not just physically, emotionally too. It's the last thing that Cara wants to happen, but she can't resist. Neither can he!
At the same time, there is a lot going on in the organisation and Gian can no longer ignore the discord between the older and younger generation. He has been manipulated into the situation and intends to change that sooner than later. He soon learns that not everyone is who they appear to be and the betrayal stings! He does what he has to do, but Cara's life can be threatened. He takes the right steps to stop her from being a target and a bargaining tool. Although Cara is not happy, she understands only too well and complies to Gian's demand. Hopefully, everything will return to normal soon!
Cara makes a shocking discovery and it tears her apart. Gian has some explaining to do, but will Cara listen to him? Her pain is so raw and tangible that I felt it right along with her, and this is where this instalment ends.
It's a well paced. It's full of suspense, betrayal, lies and violence. It's intense and passionate. I am so glad that I don't have to wait to see how and if the situation between Gian and Cara can be resolved. I am going to dive straight into the next instalment.
Entangled
Unraveled, the first installment of this duet ended with a painful revelation. This second installment takes us to the conclusion of this journey that is entangled in a web of lies, deceits and so much more.
Gian is now the Don of his outfit. Something that he has been groomed do be from a young age, and it's what he wants. He is a good boss and he works hard, but he isn't happy.
Cara is doing well in her studies and doing well in a placement, counselling abused girls and women. She loves helping and is hoping for permanent employment once she graduates. If anything, she works long hours to keep her occupied. It stops her from hurting, if only temporarily.
Three months later, Gian and Cara have a chance encounter for the first time since that awful revelation. It's a short meeting but their feelings are still very strong. This prompts Cara to pull herself together and move on. It doesn't turn out as she expects! Gian just happens to be in the same place. Their initial unpleasant conversation brings back memories and their hearts win out. Their love is too strong!
Gian's position expects him to keep up appearances, which means a relationship with Cara is not acceptable. Nevertheless, they try to find a happy medium that will satisfy everyone. It's not so easy, given his past problems! He has more than one enemy, but one in particular is devious, calculated, remorseless and manipulative. There are threats, bloodsheds and more bloodsheds. Gian's is in a predicament, where whatever he does is bound to go against him. The unravelling of the extent of the lies and deceits make him realise that he can't trust anyone! Will he be able to resolve these problems and have as normal a life as possible?
This installment is fast paced, full of suspense and passion. I found my heart melting and then breaking again. It's a brilliantly executed plot with a worthy outcome. I was completely invested in this duet and hope that there are more stories to come with the next generation.

The cryptic clues are not usual and neither is their situation. Will they work in harmony to get out unscathed?
Sara is new to the firm and the treatment she receives from her colleagues is abismal. Their cruel behaviour is her downfall. Will she seek revenge or will she just accept what she has been dealt?
During their ordeal, dark secrets are revealed. The characters are immoral, over ambitious and greedy for money. The extent of their machinations is unbelievable, but what goes around comes around!
The plot on its own is unusual. The dual POVs works wonderfully well. There is greed. Victimisation. Bullying. Back Stabbing and Fraud. I like the portrayal of this story and the revelations of the true nature of the characters. The twist at the end is amazing. One that I didn’t see coming. It's a hair raising read which I would recommend to all readers.

This book srarts off with a young Ren and how he becomes who he is. Despite all his faults, he is loving, loyal and nothing can stop him doing what he has to, to survive and look after his siblings.
Lucia leaves her life of luxury to follow her heart. Except her heart was born on the wrong track and those who love her want her safe. To be able to do that, they have to break her heart.
Lucia and Ren find themselves on the run, but that doesn't matter as long as they are together. The Marcellos have other ideas. They want her back where she "belongs." Ren and Lucia are always looking over their shoulders. Although, they manage to overcome the initial barriers, the inevitable happens eventually. Will Lucia ever be able to forgive her family, even if their intentions are good? Will Ren ever break away from the situation he finds himself in?
This part of the story is soul wrenching. My heart still bleeds for Ren and Lucia who have been through so much at such a young age. I love them both. Their love. Their patience. Their loyalty. The way the story ends has left a gap in my heart and I can't wait to see the conclusion of this heartfelt story.

I was mesmerised by the court process, Reese's expertise and Cat's reports throughout the trial. I like the way they navigate through the issues whilst their reasons for living are being thwarted by lies. They love and protect each other with all they have and that intense chemistry they have is absolute. It's a strong and heartfelt storyline. Reese and Cat are truely a model couple. The roles of the familiar secondary characters strengthen this compelling plot and I loved every single aspect. Magnificent! ...more

After listening to his phone messages, Eric goes back just in time to rescue Lauren from an attack. She is relieved to see him, after thinking that they had parted ways for good. He quickly takes her with him since has all intentions of claiming her for his own. The thing is that they are both harbouring secrets. What those secrets are remain to be seen.
Although repetitive in places, this is a good follow on to the first book. Eric's personality is revealed in more depth. Lauren says that she is all in, but she doesn't come across as being invested in Eric as he is in her.
Unless I read this piece wrong, Lauren isn't the only one who knows about Eric father's visit. Gigi is in the know too, after her discussion with Lauren.
“Why is Eric’s father here in New York City?” I demand. “He’s—what?” “Don’t tell me you don’t know.”
I don't know if this is an oversight or not, and besides that, this book is full of mystery and intrigues. The passion between Eric and Lauren is really steamy. There is danger in every corner. Who is the real target(s)?
Even though, this part is lengthy in places, I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and can't wait to see what transpires next. I would like to know who is being targeted and why? ...more

I like the way Syn tackles her issues and adapts to her situations. This story shows that nothing is impossible and dreams do come true. A forbidden love turns into a beautiful fairy tale.
I am intrigued by Beau and hope that he tells his own story.

Brice played a big part in the previous book where he was a young lad, brother to Abby, the main character. He is now a man and a sight for sore eyes. He is looking to better his future despite the psychological scars left by his estranged mother.
When Brice notices Naomi taking pictures of the event, he is instantly drawn to her and there is something about him that calls to her. There is an attack on Naomi and Whitney that evening, and Brice comes to the rescue. None of them managed to see the face of the assailant, but it would appear that Whitney is keeping secrets. There is another attack on Brice and Naomi and knowing what the problem might be, Brice decides that he needs to protect Naomi. Whitney remains tight lipped, then there is a nasty accident which convinces everyone that they are in a dangerous situation. Can Brice keep Naomi safe and catch the guilty parties?
The mystery behind the brutal attacks makes for a compelling read. The interactions between Brice and his younger brother Caleb show their love for each other, even when they are in dispute. The obvious attraction between Brice and Naomi gets even stronger as the story develops. I absolutely love Abby and Clayton whose love is stronger than ever. Naomi's mother is one of those characters who brings fun and laughter in this otherwise dangerous story where those in power get away with murder! It's very well portrayed and the vivid descriptions of the places and events made me feel part of the whole thing. I would love to see Caleb, Jace and Cooper get their own stories.

She is apprenhisive at first as she loves her life in New York. Kathryn sees this as an adventure. She should be back home within no time at all! On seeing Oberon, she is fascinated and intrigued. He is an impressive figure and she senses his other nature. She examines him and starts the treatment, but he wakes up unexpectedly. To a stranger! His reaction is aggressive and in some ways comical. Kathryn is not in the least impressed by his behaviour and they start on the wrong foot. She gives him as good as she gets and the cat and mouse game begins until Oberon sees reasons. Seeing that he has no other options of being liberated from his nightmare and save his kingdom, he begrudgingly agrees to Kathryn's suggestion of treating him. He is no longer the same man revered by all before his self induced seclusion. Although, they dislike each other, there is an attraction that they can barely ignore. Will he be his old self, should she succeed in her operation? Can she adhere to the doctor/patient protocol to explore what might be?
I devoured this story from beginning to end and still craved more when it finally came to an end. I was ehthralled by the sometimes funny, sometimes heated and sometimes sensual and loving interactions between Oberon and Kathryn. She is a strong character who stands by what she believes and doesn't take any nonsense from him. Grouchy at the beginning, he soon shows that he has a humourous, gentle and caring side. They work well as a team and their love and loyalty knows no bound. Although it's sad to come to the end of such a fabulous series, the conclusion is more than rewarding. The presence of some of the characters from the previous two books acts as a reminder of how good those stories were. I love this series.

Josie left her hometown with a broken heart and she returns ten years later to try and get some closure by means of her art.
Cole is no longer the "boy" she used to know. He has deviated from his ambitions to become a merciless tycoon.
Although Josie expects to come face to face with Cole on her return, she doesn't expect it to happen so soon. She is shocked by the changes in him. His physical beauty as well as his detached demeanour. She is a still heartbroken, but seeing him reminds her of some of the happy moments, but he doesn't give anything away. Does he even care anymore?
He notices the changes in her, like he used to, ten years ago. His urge to protect her gets the better of him whilst he tries to push her away at the same time. The pull that they once had still burns brightly, but he tries to bury it! He attempts to sabotage her project. The very reason of her return until he discovers what she has been through for the past ten years. Will he relent and rekindle what they once shared or will he stick to the belief of his unworthiness?
I gobbled up this part of the story despite all the angst and misery. Although Cole appears to have changed drastically for the worse, the old Cole is still there. Josie sees through him and when he divulges the reasons for his actions, my heart went out to both of them. The cruelty and hatred of the community towards Cole are vindictive, but he takes it all in his strides. I love Cole and Josie, but not so sure about Nathan. This ends with a cliffhanger that left me wanting to find out how it all ends. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Astor is a well known perfumer with a mysterious past. He is sinfully sexy and is not known for sticking to relationships on a long term basis. He comes across as being a player.
Raquel is the proud owner of Perfume Girl. She has been creating perfumes since she was a little girl and now, everything she has built and worked hard for comes crashing down.
Raquel is on the right track for achieving her dreams until she finds her husband cheating on her. A divorce follows and money is becoming scarce, threatening her business. The something special that she has been working hard to create could well be her salvation, but to add salt to her wounds, it goes missing along with her formulas. She doesn't have a clue about who could be the source of this cruelty until she has a chance encounter with a client. She takes matters into her hands and decides to confront the culprit, but things don't go as planned!
Upon meeting Raquel, Astor is initially dismissive until she makes a witty comment about a perfume which could suit him. His curiosity is piqued and he decides to humour her until he finds out what she is really up to. After all, he has been subjected to industrial espionage in the past! It's a compelling and romantic story which had me turning the pages to find out who is really behind this web of lies and deceit. I love the storyline and absolutely love Astor and Raquel. Despite the doubts and heartaches, the author delivers an exquisite conclusion.

Fitch is an art hunter who has just uncovered one of the Siren's paintings and is now on a quest to discover the location of the remaining paintings.
Brenna has come across some information which might lead her to the identities of the artist and his alluring subject. Upon arriving in London, she meets non other than Fitch, her sworn enemy. Underneath her "apparent" loathing, she goes weak at the knees whenever she comes into contact with him, but she doesn't believe in love and relationships. Fitch, himself is quite besotted by her and intends to get into her good graces.
When it becomes apparent that they have information which could prove useful to both of them, they call a truce and pair up to follow the breadcrumbs to the origin of these paintings. They embark on an exciting journey and as they spend time together, feelings change. Besides, Brenna has been going on assumptions about Fitch and now that she knows the truth, things are different. The problem is that he slips up and might ruin any of his chances.
Together, they uncover the truth about the Swan, a courtesan whose disappearance has been a mystery. The love story from several hundred years ago is bittersweet and runs parallel to Brenna's and Fitch's story in the present day. It's beautifully crafted and the characters and events are captured vividly.
I like the storyline and its uniqueness. It's emotive and captivating. Well worth reading....more

Tobias and Zara are now on a new quest. To do so, they have to put some of the past occurrences behind them. Even though Zara is eager to achieve this goal, she remains full of doubts whereas Tobias is his cool and collected self, confident of his plans.
With their new discovery which is part of Zara's past and her future aspirations, she teams up with Tobias and in the process, gains confidence in herself. She is no longer the wallflower, but a courageous and protective woman instead. Her only problem is her constant internal debates. Trust doesn't come easy to her.
Tobias will do anything for her. Even putting his own life and reputation on the line. He is one of the most enigmatic and magnetic characters that I have ever come across. One can't help, but love him. His achievements, both in science and in art are beyond belief.
The relationship between Tobias and Zara is passionate and sizzling hot. The depth of their love is unrivalled. There are times when their relationship is threatened by the unscrupulous Burrell family. They play a dangerous game where their lives are in danger, but the way they support each other sets the heart thumping. In these situations, they put each other's welfare and safety above their own. Despite Zara's doubts and mistrust, she sticks by her man, but there is a bit of a scare towards the end. Surely not. Not now. Will she overcome these shortcomings and give Tobias a chance to have their happily ever after?
This book starts off slowly and gradually builds up to a climatic zenith. The suspense throughout kept me at the edge of my seat. Their selfless love and sexual chemistry are enthralling. It's both compulsive and addictive. Loved it....more

The first time that Gemma and Cameron met, started off with fireworks and the ill feelings continue to linger. When he attends an all male Geology gathering, he is coaxed into getting invitations for two other fellow geologists since he is related to Gemma by marriage.
Gemma's entourage encourages her to change her attire in order for the gentlemen to take her more seriously when she gives them a tour of the geological collection. It works wonderfully well. Not in the way that she expects though. Although Cameron is impressed by her knowledge of the subject, her appearance doesn't go unnoticed. She is secretly pleased by his reaction, but can she cope with his amorous attention? After all, she is sworn to stay unmarried.
Gemma makes a discovery which is followed by a murder and the disappearance of her find. Now that Cameron is attracted to her, he wants nothing more than to help and protect her. The effects of these events take a toll on her emotions and she finds herself in a compromising position with Cameron. The only thing to do is to become betrothed even if they have to break up at a later date. This pretend betrothal turns into more and they find that they enjoy each other's company. Gemma takes the opportunity to have lessons in being courted. Never mind if it's inappropriate! Cameron who has never thought of marriage in the past is having second thoughts. Can he change her mind and protect her from the unscrupulous thief who wishes her harm?
This is a fairly pleasant read which is somewhat predictable. Once the crime is committed, the identity of the culprit is fairly obvious, but the plot in itself is interesting and the romance is satisfying.

He isn't the same person anymore. She gives him the benefit of the doubt, but keeps waiting for the penny to drop. Only it doesn’t!
His interactions with Beau are more than could be expected of a loving father. He takes an active role in the running of the estate and includes Verity in every aspect. He is responsible and honourable! Feelings start to develop. Does she dare hope for a better future?
Going through the books they uncover discrepancies and slowly they start to peel the layers. There is a lot more going on and when Rufus reveals his secret, what they are building could easily crumble. They discover that their enemies are closer to home. Blackmail, fraud and murder are involved.
Watching the mysteries unravel is mesmerising. This multi layered plot doesn't readily give anything away and it's rewarding to see the villains being exposed. It's a fascinating story where honour, love and loyalty prevail. Outstanding!

Cole is a stranger to this new town and since his chance encounter with Kaddy, he is driven to get to the bottom of who she really is. Their mutual dislike won't stop him as he is rather persistent.
Kaddy is looking forward to reaching her goal. Mike is her best friend and anchor as well as a band member. They work hard alongside the other two band members, Josh and Owen to start venturing into the wild world.
Kaddy has always been different with her wild red hair and piercing grey eyes, and has been known as being a freak. She doesn't realise how different she is until she starts having difficult to explain episodes. Somehow, Cole always happens to be there to save the day. Then, she is faced with the most unexpected reality when she is told the truth about the "Chosen". She struggles to come to terms with this new development and finds that she has no other choice than to rely on Cole for help. Their interactions are far from being pleasant to begin with, but they soon grow on one another. They learn a lot from each other and quite often unconsciously gravitate towards the other. The more time they spend together, the more complicated the situation becomes. Kaddy won't deviate from her goal and Cole sticks to the rules. Will they eventually come to a compromise?
I like the premise of the story and find the half souls and shadows to be fascinating. The friendship between Kaddy and Mike is impressive. Cole's cool and calm demeanour together with his honourable actions make him the ideal protagonist. Kaddy is another story. The factors to their questions were brought about by one of their extracurricular activities and one particular discussion in the classroom. These questions only raised more questions as to what the appropriate answer might be. Do you believe in faith or truth?
To make the story more interesting, it erred on the side of the occult. The mystery behind some of the events could be debated as there were no conclusive answers to them. They were very well fleshed out, even though the mysteries remain just that.
It's one of those stories that make us examine our beliefs. I am sure readers will have some of the answers in common, but there is a lot of room for debate. It's an interesting story and if you like to scrutinise your own idealogy, then this is for you.

This novel is nicely paced and the characters are very well portrayed. Mark and Nicole are both stubborn, and at times I felt like giving Mark a piece of my mind even though he is lovable. Nicole is strong and independent, but doesn't show her vulnerability. There are a few twists along the way, the biggest one being after the mystery is solved. I was totally engrossed with this murder, mystery historical romance and absolutely loved it. It's entertaining and captivating.

It's so addictive and compelling that I couldn't get to the next page fast enough and was kept at the edge of my seat. The suspense is killing, but it's wrapped up beautifully and I love the way it ends. Great characters and intricately portrayed. Brilliant!

It looks like there has been a lot of manipulations going on.
When Joci's life is at risk, Cameron is faced with yet more hard truths. He has been played! This situation leads to more complications where the most unusual and rare phenomenon occurs. There is confusion all round, but Cameron and Joci come to a decision. The most logical one, if they want a happy ending. It doesn't end there though! More of the ugly past rears its ugly head and this is where it ends and suddenly everything is threatened once again. What happens next?
I like the relationship between Cameron and Joci, but her past puts so much pressure on their relationship. His love for her is unconditional and he readily comes to terms with this most unconventional situation. I didn't enjoy this part of the story so much as it sort of taints what should be a happy event. All in all, it's a well portrayed complex love story and would appeal to those who like a story with a difference and lots of twists to keep them on their toes.

There was no explanation of how the initial scenario came about. Once I started to get an understanding from the snippets, I quite enjoyed the storyline.
Dare is the team leader of one of the special ops team. He decided to go in that line of work at a very young age due to some tragic circumstances. There isn't room for anything else in his life.
Jenna is drawn into an ongoing investigation by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and is under the protection of Dare's team after mistaken identity is confirmed. They start off by loving to hate each other until they become aware of the sparks that ignite between them.
Jenna is being persued by the villains and when she is abducted, she realises that she is up against some unscrupulous individuals. What she witnesses makes her feel sick and she decides to play her part to stop anyone else from being subjected to that disgraceful fate. Dare reluctantly agrees, but the enemy is cunning for everything backfires and they are back to square one.
Dare and Jenna take a plunge with the understanding of having a fling for he cannot offer anything else. Just when their feelings start to surface, they are in the firing line once again. This sends them in separate ways until once again Jenna finds herself in the wrong place. Dare is now convinced that he has been played and is ruthless in his handling of the situation. More to the point, with Jenna.
One of the ploys leads to misunderstandings with negative impact. In the meantime, the villains continue with their deceitful plan, no matter the cost. Jenna and Dare become the primary targets. Can they survive these powerful and corrupted public figures?
This installment is a little slow to begin with, but once it picks up, it becomes an exciting read. It's action packed and there is violence, love and lust. The chemistry between Dare and Jenna is pretty intense and he has a change of heart. It has a good ending, but part the problem remains unresolved. It will be interesting to see whose story comes next and how far they get with their mission.

This novel is profound and full of suspense. It's well paced and danger is around every corner. It's sensual and passionate, but there are heartaches too. The build up to the conclusion is nerve wracking and compelling. Love and loyalty triumph!

The Red Rose is a dark and intense novel. It's fast paced and danger is everywhere. There is loyalty, hate, anger, betrayal and deviousness. David, Catalina, Melissa and Alexander have a terrible fight on their hands before they have their happy endings. It's an emotive page turner which captured my attention from beginning to end. A well portrayed complex story.

As they spend time working on the case, the attraction between them intensifies and they eventually stop resisting even though Alyssa has reservations about their status. It appears that the enemy is always a step ahead of them and there is danger in every corner. It turns out that "The Gentleman" is not so much of a mystery as his reasons for relentlessly persuing them. They find evidence that what happened years ago and the present events are all tied to the same individual. They then fall into a deadly trap where "The Gentleman" appears to be have the upper hand. Will they be able to save their sibling and themselves?
This is a very well paced story riddled with mystery and suspense. The romance between Kipling and Alyssa is as funny as it is hot. Once they acknowledge their feelings, their love is something to behold. It's an intricate puzzle which is nicely put together to solve the mystery behind all the horrors. A great read.

Linc had given up on love after having his heart ripped open until he meets Kelly and recognises a broken soul. They are well suited, but an occurrence at the club forces him to run, purely to protect her. He joins the Nomads and Jack. Here he finds his real purpose and the true meaning of what they stand for. Animosity and heartaches follow, but fate has a way of intervening. When their paths cross once again, they realise that the flame between them still burns. Trusting again is not so easy for Kelly whereas Linc is set on claiming back what they once had. The problem is that the enemy continues to rain one disaster after another upon them, putting the spanner in the works! Can they win this battle and allow Linc and Kelly to realise their five year plan?
This side of the story is beautifully woven and recounts the events of how the Nomads came together. Each and everyone of them have fought a hard battle before becoming property of Jack Parrish. It shows true leadership and loyalty. Linc's and Kelly's story is poignant, intense, sensual and full of danger. It took a hold of me and didn't let go right to the end. Every aspect of this story is palpable and it's one hell of a ride. The bonus scene is quite an eye opener! Heartwrenching, but fabulous.

Tilly was robbed of everything dear to her at a young age and has learnt to fend for herself. She is currently studying whilst waitraissing in a gentlemen's club. She is one of the few characters who featured in the prequel.
Keaton and Tilly were good friends, even shared their first kiss as teenagers and then her life changed drastically. She hasn't seen Keaton since that dreadful day and out of the blues, he turns up at the club. They are both pleasantly surprised and even though they have changed, the friendship and familiarity they once shared haven't changed. It turns out that there have been a lot of lies and deceits of which neither of them was aware. They easily pick up where they left off.
Someone is out to destroy the Benedict brothers and Tilly finds herself in the middle of a treacherous situation. There is a serial killer on the loose and his targets are all familiar to Tilly. Is she next? The person pulling the strings and his reasons for these atrocities remain a mystery.
Keaton fears for her life and offers protection, but there is another party who is just as dangerous. She dislikes Tilly and is set on a relationship with Keaton, whether he likes it or not. This only adds another layer and more intrigues to what's already happening.
I like Keaton's attitude and his mind set. Despite his wealth, he is down to earth and wants to contribute to a better world. Tilly has been through a lot of hardship, but she retains her compassion and works hard towards a better life. Their relationship is easy, comfortable and passionate.
This romantic suspense is very well paced and full of mystery. Even though some of the mysteries are uncovered and Tilly and Keaton realise their dream, there are still a lot of questions to be answered. This first installment is a good indication of what's to come. It's compelling, intriguing and addictive.
