It has been a year since Sutton lost her husband, Maverick, suddenly due to an undetected heart condition. A widow at 24 with a toddler to care for, Sutton has been numb to everything but her grief and her devotion to her son. Throughout that time, David has been a constant presence and stable emotional support for Sutton, he truly cares for her with or without the simmering attraction brewing between them.
Sutton has always been rather impulsive and optimistic, carving her own path rather than falling into the family business as would be expected of her. The loss of Maverick has understandably dulled Sutton's sparkle and left her feeling lost and lonely. Vowing to be open to new possibilities on the anniversary of Maverick's death opens a wealth of possibilities for Sutton, from a career she would never previously have considered to unearthing the hidden feelings for David.
Sutton is a wonderful character, I loved watching her piece herself back together following the tragedy of the previous year. Sutton's conflicted feelings were realistically portrayed and easy to empathize with, although I have to say I was in the front line of the cheering section for David from the beginning.
While I adored David, Kyla manages to convey a sense of foreboding throughout the narrative, especially where David's sudden move to Lubbock is concerned. There are hints throughout about a rift between David and his family about which David is very secretive.
The Wright family are one of my favorite fictional families and I loved seeing them all together again. I love the way they support each other through good times and bad. The Wright Love highlights events from the family's past and the effect it has on the present adding another layer to the story.
There are a number of interweaving plot threads through The Wright Love ingeniously crafted into the narrative, culminating in one heck of a revelation/cliffhanger that alters perceptions and creates a HUGE barrier for the future. I cannot wait to see how this one plays out (I'm team David all the way ♥)...more

His arrogant, overly-confident, some would say ‘cocky’ (not trademarked or copy-written) personality doesn’t prevent women from wanting him. What Sean really needs is for someone to dig below the surface and see his insecurities, he needs someone who is going to throw him off his game and into something real. What Sean doesn’t expect is to be completely blindsided by a small but mighty vlogger.
Six is as adorably quirky as her name would suggest. A pixie sized stunner with a giant personality. Six reminded me a lot of Rosie from The Virgin Romance Novelist without the naivety but with the hilarious inner monologues and curiosity, coupled with a sharp wit and even sharper defence mechanism. A football fan herself, Six is disheartened when she overhears her football crush, Sean, being a jock-hole about his ability to seduce her.
Cue some very funny situations devised by Six to let some hot air out of Sean’s over-inflated ego. However, the chemistry between them is undeniable and the inevitable is bound to happen. Although, Six’s ability to maintain control is something to behold.
I loved Six’s ability to switch things up, keeping Sean on his toes throughout and making him confront real emotions. Six manages to balance Sean’s ego and not lose herself in the process. While the fun and games continue, some very real feelings come into play which both Sean and Six have trouble admitting to themselves let alone each other, creating some very frustrating uncertainty within their budding relationship.
One of the highlights of this series is getting to reunite with some of Max Monroe’s favourite characters, Georgia, Cassie, Wes, etc. You just never know which of their characters is going to pop in for a cameo appearance ♥
Pick Six also manages to progress the relationship between Quinn and Cat from Wildcat while providing further background information on the other members of the mavericks ready for the other books in the series!!!!!...more
You may remember Tilly as the surly 15-year-old from Lost and Found Sisters, now all grown-up although her life isn't at all where she pictured it woYou may remember Tilly as the surly 15-year-old from Lost and Found Sisters, now all grown-up although her life isn't at all where she pictured it would be following college. Returning to Wildestone for Tilly, initially feels like she has given up on her dreams but as we all know I am a great believer in everything happens for a reason and The Good Luck Sister proves that and then some.
Dylan was Tilly's best friend/first love growing up, they were a source of strength and comfort to each other while they navigated some traumatic events in their youth. Whereas Tilly inherited Quinn, Dylan truly had no-one and nothing to provide a stable foundation on which to build his future. Seeing no other option, Dylan enlisted as soon as he was able leaving everything in Wildestone in the rearview mirror without a backward glance. Although Dylan cared deeply for Tilly, he did not feel worthy of her love and needed to prove to himself that he could become someone he could be proud of. Having never forgotten Tilly, Dylan siezes his chance when Tilly returns to Wildestone to begin the next chapter of her life.
The chemistry between Dylan and Tilly is electrifying from the start but their shared past and painful goodbye acts as a barrier between them, Tilly is afraid to risk her heart again when it took so long to recover from Dylan's departure.
As Tilly and Dylan spend more time together their connection is quickly re-establish and the barriers between them carefully broken down to open the path to an HEA together.
The Good Luck Sister is a heart-warming story of second chances and finding fulfillment in unexpected places. While Tilly's career may not have been what she envisaged it is exactly where she should be - her 'calling' if you will :) While Dylan has developed into the wonderful man he was always destined to be, the person everyone else saw in him but he had to find for himself. ...more
