Everyone who knows me, knows that I am a big fan of closure. Especially when it comes to the stories I read. A book with an open-end gives me hives. I can't help it... I am special that way :P
[image]
Now imagine my level of giddiness when I received this awesome conclusion of the "Fake Boyfriend" series. A huge epilogue for all parties involved!!
This book gave me warm and fuzzy feelings all throughout.
It also left me a bit sad though...knowing we have finally come to an end.
That said, I am sure that Eden Finley will grant us many awesome new series in the future and I will be re-reading this one over and over and over again...
This book should not be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend the whole series, so what are you waiting for?

It is no secret that I am a huge Tijan fangirl. There are plenty of books by her that I love, but especially the Fallen Crest High series, I can read over and over again. The same now goes for this book. It rocked my world and I am sure I will be re-reading this one over and over again in the future as well.
Now, it has been established that I love Tijan's writing style, but do you know what I am also a big fan of? Sport themed books!! So yeah, I really hit the jackpot with this one, because college, sports romance is like cupcakes with sprinkles to me!!

Dusty and Stone used to be best friends back in high school, but for some unknown reason, from one day to the next, she stopped existing for him.
While Stone kept rising and rising, becoming a well-known name into the football world, Dusty kept falling and falling, getting hit by one tragedy after another.
Now life is about to hit Dusty one more time and this time Stone is right there to keep her from falling. Question is, will she let him?
So much resentment and so much hate...how will they able to overcome all these feelings. What will happen when all the secrets come out??
I really loved Stone, he was pretty awesome, but I am gonna be honest here and day that I had a huge ladyboner for Dusty.
She was exactly how I like my heroines to be. Strong, independent, a bit stubborn, and not willing to go down without a fight!!
I had a wonderful time reading this one. It had the perfect amount of snark, angst, humor, and love. Definitely a Top Read of 2019 for me!!
Highly recommended!!

I am gonna be honest here and say that so far 2019 has been a bit of a let down bookwise... Especially when it comes to the mm genre, I wasn't as blown away as I was the previous years. You know who absolutely didn't let me down? Lily Morton !! She wrote some pretty awesome books and I have to say that this book, it took the cake and it will definitely go on my "Top Reads of 2019" list.
Levi is moving to York, where he has inherited a house from some far-away family member. It actually comes at a perfect time, because he has just left his cheating boyfriend and he is ready for a new start. Had he known about the "state" of the house, he might have reconsidered.
It soon becomes clear that his new house isn't like any other house, and even being the skeptic that he is, he has to admit that something is amiss. When he finds out his (murder)house is part of a "ghost tour", the puzzle pieces start to fall together. How he finds out made me laugh my ass off.. poor Levi [image].
All of this gives him the perfect excuse to chat up the ghost-tour guide, "the mysterious and amazing" Blue. I mean he has been having his eye on the man since he first saw him.
Turns out the amazing Blue is even more amazing than Levi thought and he comes with some very special abilities. Together they try to find out what is wrong with Levi's house and how to put a stop top it. Secrets are revealed and slowly the danger keeps on rising. Thankfully the love keeps on rising as well and it was wonderful to see these two men grow closer and closer and fall for one another.
This book is definitely a slow burn and the steam level is quite a bit lower than what I was used to from Lily Morton. That said, it had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish and really scared the crap out of me at times. I was totally invested right from the very first line. Blue and Levi were awesome characters and it really felt as if I was "living" this story right along with them, which caused me some serious palpitations.

It was very refreshing to read something different. I am very highly impressed and I really hope there will be more to come...

I absolutely love paranormal romances and Vampires...yeah they are definitely my kryptonite. All that hot dark and broody ?? Count me in !! Knowing there are 3 more vampire brothers and that they are getting their own book ?? Hell yeah !!
This story sucked me in from the very first page. I was at the edge of my seat trying to find out more. The mystery and suspense were very well done and it kept me entertained from beginning to end.
The romance between Marcus and Ethan was a bit on the fast side though. Now I always say that I don't mind insta-love so much when it comes to paranormal book...and I don't, but in this case, the "I love you's" came a wee bit fast and unexpected.
One minute Ethan hated everything related to vampires and the next he was claiming his undying love...while they hadn't really been together yet. I had a bit of trouble adjusting myself to his very fast change of heart. Once I got myself to move past this fact, everything was right again and I could move on. I mean I did want these two together.
This was definitely a great start to a new series and I for one am gonna read all the books that follow. The brothers were awesome and I can't decide yet who is gonna be my favorite.... Rafe or Winter. I think they are both in the running for being my number 1 ;)

I have been on the edge of my seat since the first book and my butt has started to hurt :P My god what a ride this trilogy was. I figured the last book would be a bit more laid back, but boy was I wrong ...
What I loved most about this last book and the reason it is my favorite off all three, is the fact that we get multiple POVs. Not just Callie and Tanner's voice, but Jo and Tatum's as well, who are definitely my favorite couple ;)
This book was filled with delicious angst and tension... I could not put it down. Too bad I can't say much more about the plot because that would spoiler everything and believe me...you want to jump into this one blind.
I highly recommend this series and I look very forward to the spin-off Bella Jewel plans to write about Alarick's MC.

Nothing romantic going on just yet....but the promise of one is in the air and it smells so sweet !!!
The only part I really didn't like was the end... Oh, how I hate cliffhangers and waiting !! Please hurry with the next books because I need them, like RIGHT NOW !!
Gavin and Ginny were definitely awesome but I also loved revisiting my old favorites....yes Shade, I am talking about you ;) Might be time for another re-read I think.
I do have one advise before starting this trilogy and that is to at least read "The Last Riders" series. I think this trilogy can be read as a stand-alone, but it will confuse you a bit. You also won't know all the wonderful (and not so wonderful) side-characters, which would be a real shame.
Just don't go into this one expecting roses and sunshine and romance, because you won't find any....that's not to say that there won't be any in the next book... This first book explains how Gavin and Ginny came to be the people they are today. And let me tell you...do they have a story to tell !!!
I'm giving this one 4,5 stars, Shade still holds the top with 5 stars ;) ... so far.

This book has been a very very long time coming. It doesn't matter though because it was definitely worth the wait. I would have waited a few more years for this one if needed. That's how much I wanted to know how Brady, Cam, Lucy, and even Kai Ren were doing.
The first two books were definitely favorites of mine and I can happily say that this third one will also be making my "Top Reads" list. That said... there were also some things that made me a bit sad...
Now I am not gonna spoiler this book. It should be read spoiler-free, so I am gonna do my best not to ruin it for others.
Let me start by saying that this book should not be read as a stand-alone. You won't be able to make head or tails of it. Start with book 1, Dark Space and let yourself be taken away into the wonderful world of Brady Garrett... you won't be sorry. I am not so big on Sci-Fi, but this series rocked my world!!
Speaking of Brady, he is still my absolute favorite in this series. I love his awesome grumpy sarcastic self, and I am glad to say that he hasn't changed that much in that respect. He has matured a bit though, but he still hates the black...with a passion [image]
Thankfully Cam is still right there by his side to keep the grumpiness down to a manageable level and Lucy really brings out his softer side. Chris however still annoys the hell out of Brady, so there is still that. I wouldn't be so happy being stuck in outer space with my boyfriend's ex either!!
Cam only loves Brady though... They even found some little secluded place to really be together and let me tell you ... HOLY HOTNESS.
We find out a whole lot more about Kai Ren and the Faceless in this book and not all of it is as I expected. Especially the second part of the book had me on the edge of my seat. There were so many different emotions going through me while reading this book... sadness, anger, fear, surprise, joy, and love... so much freaking love!!
In the end, even Chris had grown on me and I really wouldn't mind if he got a book of his own... hint hint hint. For Brady and Cam...and, of course, Lucy, this was the perfect ending though. But you never really know, what the future might bring. And what is lurking out there in the big black !!!
I highly recommend this series!!

This is the second book in the wonderful Pineapple Grove series, but, even though there are some recurring characters, it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. This time it is the sweet B& B owner's turn...Wesley.
Wesley owns and runs a lovely little B&B, which caters mostly to the LGBT+ community. It is important for Wesley to offer them a place where they can feel safe and welcome. So when a big-time multi-million dollar investor comes sniffing around, wanting to buy his little B&B to make room for a hotel... Wesley naturally freaks out... He will sell his precious B&B .. over his dead body !!!
Nathan has his own (personal) reasons for wanting to put his hotel up...and he is getting more and more annoyed with Wesley for holding out. I can't say I agreed with Nathan's reason but...who am I to judge ;)
Nathan believes he will eventually convince Wesley....everyone has a price, right ?? Most of the shop owners in the area have already agreed to sell... It is just the stubborn, but very handsome, Wesley who is holding out.
This book definitely had all the ingredients to make a wonderful "enemies to lovers" story. No matter how much they hate or annoy each other...there is no denying the delicious chemistry between them...which makes for some awesome steamy scenes.
With the two of them falling deeper and deeper into the rabbit's hole...the question that remains is.... who is gonna give up his dreams ??!!
Even though I enjoyed reading this book, and the previous one, very much, .... I have to confess that I still like "The Unbreakable Bonds" series better. I am just a huge action and mystery fan, and this series reads a bit sweeter.
So if you want to read a sweet and fun story about two enemies falling in love...you should definitely give this one a go. I can't wait for the next one...Lincoln and Jamison's story.... it sounds like they might turn out to be my favorite couple in this series.

I am not really familiar with Edie Danford's work yet. Some of her books are on my TBR-list, but this is the first one I've read so far. I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be checking out those other books ;)
That said, this story did start out a bit slow, and considering the number of pages, it had me worried for a while. I like a nice slow build as much as the next person, but I am also a bit impatient....am I still making sense ???
Thankfully it picked up a bit towards the end, but I am gonna be honest here and say that I would have enjoyed a bit of a faster pace.
The writing style was a bit different then what I am used to, which was kind of refreshing. I especially liked the romantic epilogue, it made up for a lot of frustration I felt along the way. Talking about frustration.... I am not so sure how I feel about Shiloh.
This was a very emotional story and Sage and Antonio definitely tugged on my heartstrings. They both deserved a second chance at life...a second song ....
If you're a fan of hurt-comfort stories, then you should definitely give this one a go.

A brand new series by one of my favorite authors....sign me up !! Even though I have read multiple books by this author, she is mostly known to me as the brilliant co-writer of one of my all-time favorite books "Him". I have not (yet) read the "Brooklyn" series which this new series is a spin-off of. No worries though...it can be read without reading all that one first ;)
If you're a fan of sports, banter, fun and sexy times, you definitely have to give this one a go. I will confess and admit that she had me at "hockey player", which is why I will now also have to read the "Brooklyn" series.
Playing hockey is not all Eric does though...at least not if his brother has anything to say about it. And so Eric gets lured into doing some security gig while posing as a fake boyfriend to CEO and childhood friend Alex.
I really liked Eric, he was pretty awesome, and I also loved that Alex was such a smart, strong and independent woman...even if she was she was in danger and needed help.
I am definitely curious as to what's next. Keeping my eye out

This was everything I expected from Lily Morton ... What an awesome, fun and sweet read !!! I absolutely loved Jesse !! About as much as I love Eli, which is quite understanding since they are the best of friends ;) I wished there would have been more of Eli and Gideon, but hey...we can't always get everything we want.
Jesse has been working for Zeb for three years now. He is what they call a "jack of all trades". Zeb's company caters mostly to the LGBTQ community and offers them everything they need... from gardner to "fake boyfriend" and anything in between.
Jesse has been crushing on his boss from the moment they met, but Zeb has never shown any interest....he has also been in a relationship for years, so Jesse just crushes on from afar so to say...
What Jesse doesn't know is that Zeb has been feeling the same way about Jesse ... He is just worried that he is way too old for the likes of Jesse, they do have a 20 year age difference. He doesn't think Jesse would be interested in someone like him.
But now, things are about to change between the two of them, because Zeb needs Jesse's help to pose as his fake boyfriend at a (pre) wedding getaway. And we are not talking about just any wedding here. We are talking about his ex-boyfriend Patrick's wedding, who cheated on him and is now marrying a woman... He even promised to be his best man. Should be some good times (read the sarcasm) [image]
Things are never boring with Jesse around though, so I laughed my ass off. I also had to make use of my dear old fan when things between Jesse and Zeb started heating up !!!
So many wonderful side-characters were introduced and I really hope we get all their books. Lily Morton has set the bar high with this very first book in the series, but I am sure the rest of the books will be awesome as well. I for one can't wait ;)
Highly recommended !!!

I absolutely loved the first book on this series
"The Trouble With You"
, and I had very high hopes for Jason's story... What can I say, redeemable assholes are a weakness of mine, and Jason was definitely an asshole [image].
The minute I started this one, I was fully engrossed. I could totally get why Felicity chose Jason to pop her cherry ;) He was hot, troubled, mean and oh so sexy. I really wanted them to be together...but... I also wanted Flick to stand up for herself a bit more. Jason stomped on her feelings again and again and again, and even though I love me some mean assholes... I don't want the heroine to be some kind of a doormat.
Now I am not saying Flick was a doormat, but I am saying she was skating the line here... I guess I like my heroines a bit tougher, they should be able to stand up to those assholes...and for me, Flick was just a tad bit too sweet and forgiving, which is why I could not give this one 5 stars. That's okay though because she didn't change who she was for him... I think plenty of people will absolutely adore her.
Which actually brings me to the next book... I am guessing Asher won't have things quite as easy as Jason, because his newly introduced love-interest, Mya, sure looked like a tough chick to me !! I have a feeling she might be my kind of heroine.
I can't wait to read their story. I fell deeply in love with Asher in this book. He may not be such an asshole but he clearly has some other qualities that have already won me over.
I really love this author's writing style and I hope there will be plenty more to come, I am definitely a fan !!

I am a huge fan of the opposites attract trope and "the geek and the jock" is unquestionably my favorite. Not to mention the whole "fake relationship" deal. Count me in!!
Parker who is trying to climb the corporate ladder is in need of a boyfriend to impress her boss. She decides to go the unusual route to conjure one up....she hires him :P
Unfortunately, there is a case of mixed identity (kind of) and Parker is now stuck with her fake boyfriend's brother... Rhys... tall, muscled ex-boxer and totally not what she had in mind. Rhys jumps at the opportunity to solve his own financial problems.
These two were absolutely awesome together. I fell in love with both characters and their back and forth banter. There is definitely a case of "enemies to lovers" here and it was delicious.
If you enjoy funny and steamy romances with a touch of sarcastic banter thrown in, you should really give this one a go.

I have been on a real winning streak when it comes to the YA and NA genre this year. So when I got an invite to read and review this book, I jumped on it...especially after reading that awesome blurb ;)
What I did not know, however, was that there was gonna be a major cliffy at the end !! Oh, how I hate cliffies... but I have to say that I am starting to get a bit immune. That's how many I have already been confronted with this year !!! I am starting to get used to them ... Must be a cold day in hell :P
[image]
Anyways, about the story... Rea and Clinton have a bit of an "opposites attract" story going on as well as an "enemies to lovers" one.
They both go to the same high school but they have very different backgrounds. Where Clinton has all the money in the world, yet no one to really love him, Rae has a mother who loves her...but almost nothing to support them, except for her mother's abusive boyfriend.
Rae, being where she is from, and who she is, is definitely the schools "outcast". She doesn't much care though since she is tough as nails, and she has 2 awesome friends who are loyal as hell.
Both Rae and Clinton have it hard at home, but it is Clinton who takes his own hurt and projects it on others....specifically Rae. She becomes his most favorite target.
But what when a night of loneliness and heartache shows them that they aren't so different. And more importantly...that they hurt less when they are together...
I really enjoyed this one, though, in the beginning, I felt like I was being dropped in the middle of an ongoing story. I would have liked to read more about Rae's past ... both in her home life as in this particular high school. I wanted to know how she was treated in school in the past and how she met her friends.
I also wanted to know more about her mother's boyfriend. I know it is all just background details... but I am greedy like that, especially when I like a story.
Thankfully there is more to come. I just hope we won't have to wait too long...especially with that major cliffy !! I need to know what happens.... NOW PLEASE !!!

This is the 6th book in the Confessions series, but the second book about Henri and Bailey. It can definitely NOT be read as a stand-alone so if you haven't read the previous books yet, I strongly advise you to start reading the first book "Robbie" ...it's really good.
In this following story, we see Henri and Bailey really starting to get to know each other...the good and the bad. Especially Henri is afraid to confess all of his secrets, of all the people, he had to go and fall in love with a cop !!! One who won't just let up.
Those walls of yours? I'm going to climb them. And those bridges? I'm going to be the one who burns them down.
I do have to say that it grated on my nerves a bit, that I was reminded of the fact that Bailey was a cop/officer on almost every single page... I know it was a big issue in this story, but still, it felt like a bit much.
I was also a tad bit disappointed in "officer Bailey" to be honest. I expected a bit more from him when push finally came to shove. Thankfully he got his head out of his ass fairly quickly.
All in all this was a very sweet read, pretty low on angst and high on the "feel good" vibes.
If you are in the mood for something sweet, sexy and fun, I highly recommend this series !!
PS: I wonder if I can put in a request for a story about "Officer Dick" ?!!
3,5-4 stars from me ;)

I very much enjoyed Annabelle's previous shifter series, The Regent's Park Pack series, so of course, I had to read this new series as well. It's a bit different...but just as wonderful.
Now when I started this book, I figured it was gonna be like the Regent's Park books, each book a different couple. That's where I was wrong. This one ends on an open ending, with no HEA in sight for our heroes just yet....there is some promise though [image]
I also wouldn't say this first book was very romantic, even though it is chock full of sexual tension [image] The steam was also fairly low, but I am sure there will be some major explosions in the future !!
There is no question about Cole and Logan ending up together...I am pretty sure they are made for one another, and they know it too. It is just that there are some other present matters that took the front seat in this first novel. And what a ride it was !!!
I was completely drawn into the worldbuilding and spent most of my time reading biting my nails and trying not to fall off my seat.
This was a wonderful introduction into a new series and I for one am already hooked. I can't wait to see what will be next and I just hope the wait won't be too long.

I am a big fan of Sloane Kennedy's "Protectors" series. Along with the "Finding" series, it is definitely one of my favorites of her. So when I found out she was writing another spin-off, I was as happy as a pig in mud [image]
Anyways.. those of you who are familiar with the Protectors series, and especially the twelfth book "Unbroken", already know Remy and Luca. Now for those of you who haven't read Unbroken, I strongly advice you to do so....you will enjoy this story so much more if you do. It will give you a bit more insight as to what happened between Remy and Luca in the past.
Remy has never gotten over the fact that Luca gave him hope 8 years ago and then took it away. Luca never forgave himself for having to make that difficult decision and not taking Remy away. He wants to right his wrongs....but Remy isn't making it easy (not that he should).
Thankfully Luca is not about to give up that easily. There is just something about Remy that really pulls him in and he just can't let go...no again. Throw in a traumatized son, a cute little baby girl and some meddling badasses (in a good way) and you've got yourself a delicious story about heartbreak, healing, and family.
Also, be prepared to be frustrated. This book is an extremely slow burn, so slow it gave me blue balls...and I don't even have any !!
Now I definitely understood why they were taking things slow, but my poor little black heart ( and other parts of my anatomy) just wanted them to freaking kiss already !!!
Even though this book deals with some seriously traumatized characters, the triggers weren't as huge as some of Sloane's other books. Most traumas happened in the past and this book really focuses on the present. That said...there still are some, so keep that in mind ;)
I really enjoyed this new spin-off and I can't wait to read the next book. I could have done with a bit more steam though...even if I do get why it was a bit on the milder side. What can I say...I just love me some man on man lovin'[image]

Even though I have pledged my undying love to Hollis [image] (don't worry my lovely, I won't cheat)... I have to admit that Rowe and Noah are definitely my favorite couple. I just love the way they love each other and how they just grab life by the balls !!
When I first started this series I never would have expected them to turn out as my favorite pairing, but their book is definitely the one I re-read the most. Now I have this one to add to that, and let me tell you: it is awesome !!!
It has been a couple of years since Rowe pulled his head out of his ass and realized he was head over heels in love with Noah. He still very much is and Noah loves him back just as much.
No relationship is perfect though, and insecurities are just a step around the corner. But when Noah is personally threatened, and a piece of his past shows up in their lives...there is no room or time for doubt.
Soon bullets and code names are flying and these boys once again show, how well they "perform" under pressure [image] Thank god for duct-tape [image]
These two definitely still burn the sheets together !!!
I had an awesome time reading this one and I was extremely satisfied (hehehe) when I reached the end !!

Remember Priest's ex-boyfriend, from the previous books? Yeah, I had to go back and refresh my memory as well, but once I did... I was all team Henri !! He might be my favorite character in this series. The reason I say "might", is because I have no idea how many books are yet to come in this series, and you never know ;)
Now I am all for a delicious bad boy, and Henri definitely delivered on that count. I did feel very sorry for him about the way things ended with Priest...and how...It actually pissed me off a bit, I think Henri deserved more loyalty from Priest, but hey that's me... not everyone might agree here.
So him finding how own white knight ...a cop at that... cheered me right back up !!
Who would have thought, the cop and the bad boy, setting the sheets on fire ;)

But Henri has a past he is keeping secret, and a "sort of job" that Bailey knows nothing about... And he will find out, because he is closer to Henri's "work" than he knows.

I don't know why I didn't read this book when it was first published in 2008 as 'Midnight Encounters', but I am guessing it has to do with my ever-growing TBR list. That and the fact that my only free time to read in 2008, was when I went to the bathroom :P

Maggie and Ben were absolutely great together, and I am glad to say that I liked both of them very much. Maggie especially was a very refreshing heroine in my opinion.
If you're in the mood for a sweet but funny and light romance, then you should definitely give this one a go.
