Ever since reading the previous book Take, I have been on pins and needles to read Ricky and Martin's story. I have to be honest though, I was a tad bit disappointed when I found out that there was gonna be a lady between these two hot men. Everyone knows how much I love my MM books ;) No worries though.. I still got mine :P
Thankfully, my disappointment didn't last too long, since Talu was a pretty amazing heroine. I love how strong she was ... and believe me she needed to be. This is a pretty dark series and this book is no exception. Right from the start, Tula is subjected to the most horrible of crimes...by those who are supposed to protect !!!
In a flash, she went from being a law-abiding English teacher to being an inmate in one of Mexico's most dreaded prisons...and all in the name of sisterly love.
In order to survive, she is forced to say goodbye to her former self and become cold and vacant.
To survive, she needed to become like them.
She makes a move that saves her life...but it also forces her to become part of the La Rocha Cartel.... the one her mother always warned her to stay away from. Being a teeny tiny woman in a prison full of (horny) dangerous men...she doesn't have much of a choice though. So she says goodbye to the Tula of old.
She wasn't prepared for Ricky (and) Martin though...then again...who would have been Yowza !!
Martin and Ricky are two of Van's former (sex) victims and are now part of a group fighting the good fight, and trying to stop as many sex traffickers as they possibly can. They volunteered to be locked up for three months to try and take down the La Rocha Cartel from the inside.
It's no secret that these boys are really close...closer than is normal for best friends and if it were up to Ricky, they would be even closer :P But Martin doesn't seem interested in Ricky...or any other man (or woman) for that matter. So Ricky has almost given up...almost. Thankfully Ricky is not a quitter because thanks to a little help from Tula, he is about to find out just how much Martin really wants him....and her. This book was HOT... !!
It was also chock full of triggers and the angst was slapping me in the face from beginning to end.
This was definitely one of my favorites in the series, though Van will always be top dog for me. He had a really nice part in this one as well...which made me a very happy camper.
I also want to give some credit to a certain character I started out hating with a vengeance, but who earned my forgiveness ...and even a bit of my respect ;)
I highly recommend this series !!!

When I started this book I couldn't believe I was reading about 17 and 18-year-olds. The Rydeville High school is ruled by the Elite, which consists of Abby and her twin Drew, Trent, and Charlie. They are considered the rich and powerful. Now Abby may be part of the Elite, but she doesn't have much say. She is expected to listen and act accordingly. Most of the Elite, are already arranged to be married. And Trent, the dude Abby is supposed to marry, he really tops the asshole cake !!
Not wanting to give any of herself to her "fiancee", she decides to give her innocence to a stranger...a savior of sorts. Someone she chose for herself...a moment she will always hold dear. There is not much else she can do though...she is stuck in the life she was born in.
She doesn't know that everything she knows is about to change...and she will come face to face with her savior again... Will he still be her savior though.
I love high school settings, and when they have bullies in them...even better !! I was a bit confused when I started this one though. For a minute I thought they were all much older, but then I figured they were just that screwed up. I can't imagine my parents just giving me away in marriage because of family business and status...
As much as Abby was stuck, she still tried to be as strong as she could be. I really admired her and I can't wait to see what is gonna happen next.
Fair warning....we've got another cliffy right here !!!

I am a HUGE fan of the "Hades Hangmen" series. No one can do "dark romance" the way that Tillie does it. Usually, I skip the short prequels in series, but I knew I HAD to read the introduction to what is bound to be Tillie's new HIT series !
Now let me start off by saying, that there isn't anything "romantic" about this novella. It is purely an introduction into the world of "The Fallen". Gabriel, Michael, Raphael Selaphiel, Barachiel, Jegudiel, and Uriel.
They told them they were evil. They told them they were possessed by demons. They told them that darkness ran in their veins.
These boys aren't anything like the regular orphan boys at Holy Innocents. There is a darkness within them, driving them to act in violence. They have been chosen and isolated because of their inner demons... being punished, again and again.
They have no one to stand up for them en to protect them against the real evil that is the Brethren. No one besides Gabriel that is, the purest of them all....and he turns out to be everything they needed...
I advise everyone, who is planning to read this series, to start right here with this little story. It already explains a lot...yet leaves you with so many questions.
I myself have no idea what's in store for us next. It could be anything. I do know that this is just the tip of the iceberg and the best is yet to come. After this little taste, I can't wait to jump into "Raphael's" book.
I need it right now, please !!!

When I started this one, I had read some books (not all yet) in the "Eagle Elite" series, and so I was very curious about this new spin-off. It was said that this story was a complete stand alone, but I have got to be honest here and say that I was a bit confused when I started this one, as to who everyone was and what their "place" in the story was.
So I went back to the Eagle Elite series and did some more (re)reading...it did help. I still have some I need to read, but I have a bit of an idea which person is behind most the names now. I do think this story could be read as a stand-alone. but you won't have all the knowledge about everyone. So my advice would be to actually read some of the "Eagle Elite" books. It makes it that much more enjoyable. At least, that's how I felt.
Now for those who haven't read the previous series and don't feel like reading it first...no worries. The author does not leave us completely in the dark. At the beginning of the book, there is a list of names (a bit of a family tree) which shows us exactly who is who. So there you go ;)
I am a big fan of Mafia-type books. I think that's because I really love me a big bad anti-hero and that is what most of them "Made Men" are
The previous series was all about the Italian Mafia, but this one...this one also brings us the Russian one... the Bratva.
Blood in. No out.
Compared to the first Mafia book I read by this author...this one is way darker. The series really evolved. What I loved most about it though, was that it wasn't all darkness. There were also some nice laughs here and there and for me, that's what really broke the tension.
Andrei is definitely the sort of (anti) hero that I love. Constantly battling his demons and fighting his way to freedom. Torture is his specialty.
Alice, captive 632, is part of the "De Lange" family, though I am sure she wished she wasn't. Her past is pretty horrifying. Even though she has no reason whatsoever to trust anyone, especially not a man...she sees something "more" in Andrei. There is an instant sort of connection between the two.
This book kept me at the edge of my seat from the very start, and I really enjoyed reading it. I can't wait to see what's next, but first I am gonna finish every book I skipped in the "Eagle Elite" series.

It is not a secret that BDSM isn't one of my favorite tropes, it has to be really nicely done, for me to give it a go or even "love" it. I usually avoid it, because it just isn't really my thing. T.S. McKinney is really my thing though , and I gladly make an exception when it comes to her books. Case in point... the "Game Day" series, which are two of my favorite books. She has a way of making me love something that I would normally shy away from. Gotta give credit where it's due !!
This book reminded me of "Touchdown" actually.
Kingston is the envy of college. He is very handsome, the star quarterback, an awesome student, and an actual nice person... Who wouldn't want to be him ?? Well...looks can be deceiving and in this case, Kingston is slowly withering away inside. When an incident in college makes it even worse, taking away some of the things he worked so hard for, he resolves to the only way he has left to make himself feel better...
But when shit goes down...it goes down fast and so Kingston is caught in the act by none other than Memphis ...his nemesis and the one who took his place on the field...
Memphis already knows one of Kingston's secrets and so Kingston is freaked out by how much information (read blackmail) Memphis has on him.
Seeing Kingston hurt himself has the dom inside Memphis bristling. He wants nothing more than to care for and protect Kingston and give him what he really needs... A dom to submit to...
And so it begins...
I really enjoyed this story. The moment I started, I knew I was gonna finish it in one go. Another zombie night for me, but it was well worth it. I loved both characters and my heart hurt for Kingston. His father was one of the evilest men I have ever met...what a douche. Not that Memphis' father was that much better...I hated his guts too !!
The BDSM was very nicely done I think. Extra credit to Ben and Memphis' uncle, they were pretty awesome as well. This is a bit of an insta-love book. I am normally not a fan, but for some reason, it didn't bother me as much with this one. Maybe because I really wanted Kingston to have someone in his life who loved him.
Even though I really enjoyed this one and I hope there will be more...I can't give it 5 stars. Reason being that I felt there was something missing. I know this is a BDSM book and I understand that most of the book is in fact about that, but I had hoped there would have been more about their classes, and football and friends...
I love sports in books and after reading the blurb, I just expected lots of football "stuff". They only spend one scene on the field together and that's it when it comes to the "football" in this book. I also missed them coming out to the college team or Memphis' family... It was all skipped over and I am a bit confused whether they ever really came out together or not...
Still really loved it though and I will have to keep my eye out and see if there is gonna be more...because I could do with some more

I have been a huge fan of these two authors ever since I first read "Shiver". There was no going back after that one, and Lucas, Andrei, Snow, Jude, Rowe, Noah, Ian, and Hollis have pretty much been like family since...well maybe "family" is not the right word, considering all the dirty thoughts I have about them... Acquaintances might be a better word.
I love all the men in this series...each and every one of them is special and amazing, (though everyone knows that I am gonna marry Hollis one day) but I think Snow and Jude are definitely the hottest couple. So getting another book about the two of them is a real treat.
It has been three years since these two found each other and, they have been going strong ever since. Things have finally settled down for everyone and after working non-stop, Snow and Jude are ready to have some vacation time..aka alone time together...
Too bad fate feels like screwing with them once again...
When Jude's youngest brother ends up violated and beaten down in the hospital, Jude and Snow will go to extremes to find out what happened and punish those responsible. Thankfully they are not alone, which meant I got to see all my favorites again !!
I absolutely loved this one...I spend most of the time reading it on the edge of my seat. It deals with some heaviness but these wonderful authors know exactly when to lighten things up a bit, preventing it becoming too dark. And since this is Snow and Jude we are talking about, there is also some delicious steam...
I highly recommend all the books in this series and I can't wait for some more Rowe/Noah and Ian/Hollis (oh how I love Hollis ). Jocelynn and Rinda have already promised us their stories next ;)
Now if you'll excuse me...I have some Unbreakable re-reads to do :P

That said, this book does deal with something that I find hard to read about, which is why I just couldn't give it a 5-star rating, even if the writing was superb.
Milo was a real sweetheart, just like I knew he would be. His life hasn't been the easiest... Being in an abusive relationship has made him very shy and timid...even though that's not his real personality. Thankfully he was saved by Niall, his brother's best friend and the man he's had a huge crush on when he was younger. After spending some awesome times with his new buddy Oz...his sparkling personality slowly starts to comes back though....but then so does his crush...
I think Milo and Niall were both absolutely wonderful. I loved seeing Milo slowly get more and more confident. His friendship with Oz was one of the best parts of the book... boy do I love that snarky little man !!
But even though the developing relationship between Milo and Niall was awesome...I had a bit of an issue with the relationship between Niall and Milo's brother Gideon. You see, this is a "brother's best friend" trope...but... these supposed best friends are so much more than "just friends". Niall and Gideon have been getting down and dirty for some time. Now I am best friends with my sister and I just can't imagine something like this happening... I had a hard time getting my head around it... I try not to judge though, but it's not always easy :P
What made my feelings even more of a confused mess, was the fact that I actually felt sorry for Gideon. He seemed so lonely... So the only hope I have is for Lily to give him his own man and a very awesome HEA. Please Lily Morton, make it happen !!! I am not below begging :P
Gideon aside, these two were extremely hot and sweet together. They should have been together a long time ago...but I think Milo still had some growing up to do, and I don't mean physically. The ending gave me all the nice and warm fuzzy feelings, like I usually get when I read a book from this author.
I can't wait to see what's in store for us next (please be Gideon !!).
I highly recommend this series, so for those of you who haven't read Oz's awesome book yet...what are you waiting for ??

I have a confession to make... I have waited until the last moment to start reading this one. Reason being...a dreaded cliffhanger. I absolutely hate cliffhangers and normally I avoid them like the plague and wait until all the books are out to start reading. So...why did I sign up for this one ?? Well the answer is pretty simple... because Aly Martinez is one of my favorite authors and I knew I wanted ...no needed to read this book !
So here we are now and I have been left with the mother of all cliffhangers !!!
Thankfully this author seems to love her readers, because she is not making us wait too long, since the next book is already coming out next month...so fear not ;)
I also knew going into this one, that I was probably gonna be hit with a truckload of angst...and sure enough...I was crying within a couple of pages !!
Thankfully, I was also laughing my ass off within no time, so the balance was restored swiftly
Now I can't say too much about the story itself because that would be spoilering and everyone who is familiar with Aly Martinez' work knows it would be a big shame to spoiler one of her books. So I am gonna keep this one very vague...sorry definitely not sorry ;)
As much as I hate cliffies, I am so glad I read this book. And I also have got to say...I didn't even see the end coming. It really took me by surprise and I am still trying to figure out what the hell just happened !!
I don't mind being left in the dark for a little while though...It was definitely worth it and next month will be here before we know it.
I highly recommend this book and everything else this author has written ;)

I absolutely ADORE this author. Ever since reading one of my all-time favorites "Kulti". I have been a big fan. Doesn't matter what she writes...I will always give it a go. So I have been on pins and needles ever since this new book was announced. Marianna Zapata doesn't give out publishing dates, so there was a lot of amazon page refreshing going on :P
When it finally showed up, I knew I was in it for the long haul...because you know what else Marianna Zapata doesn't do...short books...thank heavens ;) There are over 500 delicious pages !! Who needs food or sleep...just some coffee will do !!
As the title of this book already states...it is about lies, and I don't want to be the one to spill the beans so I won't be going into the storyline. I think you should definitely jump into this one blind... Figuring out what exactly is going on is half the fun I believe.
Now as much as it pains me to say...I could not give this one 5 stars. I love Zapata's writing style and I adore her slow burn...she is the only one who can get away with it without me bitching. And there was definitely a snail's pace with this one, let me tell you. No the reason I wasn't completely blown away, was Luna....
Most of Zapata's books have strong and even feisty heroines...It is the reason I have a little girl crush on "Sal". Luna was a bit different though. She has some self-esteem issues and she was very sweet...I bit too sweet if you ask me. There is nothing wrong with being a good person, but Luna was skating the doormat line and...this, unfortunately, annoyed me a bit.
I wanted her to stand up for herself a bit more. I also think that she took a very very long time processing things...which made her seem a bit dense. Thankfully was a delicious alpha asshole, so he made up for a lot.
Now don't get me wrong, I really did enjoy reading this one..I just couldn't give it the full 5 stars. I think a lot of people will actually love the hell out of Luna. I am just a bit weird (and harsh) when it comes to heroines.
I look forward to whatever this author has in store for us.

This is the 6th book in the Nothing Specialseries, but the first one that belongs to ..."The Swat Edition". Swat Edition is sort of a spin-off, continuing with the members of the SWAT team.
I absolutely love the "Nothing Special" series. I have re-read all books but so far "Here Comes Trouble" and "Nothing Special V" are my favorites.
This time we get Free and Hart's story. Free was introduced in the previous book as Tech's best friend and genius hacker. Hart is the Captain of the Swat team and actually one of God's best friends...which made me love him even more ;)
Now for those of you who haven't read the Nothing Special series yet...this one can be read as a stand-alone. I, however, would advice reading the other books first because there are so many recurring characters, getting to really know them all will surely make this story better.
Free has been on the run for a very long time. After accepting the job God and Day have offered him, as the new team tech, he finally feels like he has a place where he belongs. He loves his new job, being close to his best friend and....ogling his new obsession...Swat Captain Ivan Hart. Now if he can only get Hart to make a move on him...
Being part of SWAT is a big part of Hart's life. Especially since he doesn't really have much of a personal life going on, except for his best friends God and Fox. Hart used to be married to the meanest bitch in all the land, but thankfully she left him and so he is ready to explore/embrace a part of himself he never had a chance to...and he would love to do that exploring with a very sexy genius hacker...
I really enjoyed this one, it was sexy and sweet and both heroes were pretty awesome. I am a big fan of all things "hacker", so I fell right in love with Free, just like Hart did. It was a case of insta-love for both him and me Normally I am not a fan of insta-love but these two already had a connection in the previous book, it didn't bother me too much.
The steam was very nice, though I have to say, it felt a bit subdued when compared to some of her other books. That's not to say it wasn't sexy because it sure was, it was just a bit milder ;)
What I also loved about this book were the friendships. I think God trying to help his best friend was adorable. Same goes for Tech and Fox. Hart and Free were definitely blessed in the "friends" department. Talking about Fox...I can't wait to get my hands on his book. I already love him to pieces and getting to know his love interest in the bonus chapter...yowza !! I love me some hot cowboys
Hopefully, I won't have to wait too long, I highly recommend this series !!

I have read some of this author's work, "Let love Live" was a really great read for me...but this book far surpassed that one...at least for me ;) I laughed, I cried, I drooled a bit...it was awesome ;)
Now I can hear you say....well Wendy, if it was so great, why not 5 full stars ?? Well, that's because even though it was wonderful, it wasn't perfect ...the best things never are though ;)
Ryan and Quinn meet for the first time in high school, when they are about 13 years old and Ryan is about to be beat up by his (twin)brother. If you look up the name Patrick in the dictionairy you will find "most hated (book)character by Wendy" next to it ;)
Quinn steps up to protect Ryan, but to say Ryan was happy about this...no not really. So he pretty much ignores Quinn for the next 5 years...well Quinn and everyone else, since Ryan is quite the "loner".
It isn't until they take a wood working class together, when they are 17, that they become friends...friends who want to touch that is ;)
These two were so cute and great together, but Ryan...he has so many issues and his family plays a major part in this.... My heart broke for him. Quinn wanted to help him, and be by his side...But Quinn doesn't know everything that has been going on, and Ryan ...he doesn't want him to...
Now I wanted to be angry at Ryan for his flighty behavior and his lack of communication, but I just couldn't... Because he has his reasons to be how he is...and in the end he is the bigger man... I would not have been able to do that !!
I really don't want to spoiler this story too much. I think just jumping in and reading it will be most satisfying...it was for me. So I am gonna stop myself right now, but I do want to recommend this one to everytone. I think it was the perfect book for me at this time....
I am definitely gonna keep my eye on this author ;)

I am a huge Sloane Kennedy fan... The hugest biggest ;) So of course I have read every book in this series (and in all the others). Now I have to be honest here and say that I am even though I really enjoy the "Pelican Bay" series... the "Protectors" are just a bit more my style. This series is a bit different...sweeter and milder I would say, though it still deals with multiple triggers...
I really enjoyed this one a lot and I would have given it 4,5-5 stars if not for one little thing (person), that annoyed me..... Ford. At first I could deal with his brand of avoidence/acceptence, but after a while... I got more and more pissed !!
Now, this is not the books fault. This is just a trigger that I sometimes have a problem with reading about. I have never been in the situation ,that Ford is in (thankfully), and I know I shouldn't judge...but damn I wanted to shake some sense into him a couple of times !! Thank god for Cam...who was pretty great actually ;)
Sloane Kennedy does hurt/comfort really well, and even though Ford annoyed me at times, I still loved him, and I was glad he had Cam on his side to be his rock...Which in turn made him strong enough to be there for Cam ;) A true love match !!
This was a great addition to the series, and I also loved catching up with old characters. I can't wait to read more in this series...or any of her other series. I am especially curious about Sawyer and Jett's story, which will be next....and what about Theo... So many characters and hopefully so many future books :P

I have been a fan of this series since I started the first book "Five Minutes Longer" and I have been a fan of Vance just as long. Which means I was very excited about this one... It pains me to say that my expectations for this one were not completely met...
I think the biggest issue for me was the romance part of the story...as in there wasn't much of a romance, to begin with. Now I don't need a lot of hearts and flowers in my books to enjoy them, but in this case, it didn't even feel like the MC's liked each other all that much. Well one of them didn't anyway. It all felt very one-sided.
I didn't really care much for Sam's character, or his excuses for hurting Vance. And as much as I loved Vance in all the other books...he just wasn't the same in this one...
What I have loved most about this series, since the beginning, is the whole "enhanced" part. It is so intriguing to me and I always get so curious as to which abilities everyone has. Those are my favorite parts of the books and I am so sad that those parts felt a bit glossed over in this book. Even though the background story had some element of " enhanced abilities" there wasn't much elaboration of anything. I wanted to know more about all Vance's abilities and his medical tests and why he was healing so fast all of a sudden... I didn't get it though and that's too bad, because all those "superpowers" are what made this series one of my favorites. Unfortunately, we don't always get what we want.
What I did really enjoy was seeing everyone I have come to love again. It was great to see how far Finn has really come. I really missed all of them and for me, their friendship and the bond between them all was the best part if this book. So even though this one wasn't exactly what I expected... I am still very much looking forward to the next one, which I hope will be Eli and Daniels book. Now that sounds like a very interesting story to me ;)
These books should not be read as stand alones. I recommend this series to those who enjoy sci-fi, action, and man on man loving !!

I love this author. I have read many of her books and I have plenty of them in paperback in my bookcase. So the moment I heard about this one...I knew I had to read it....no question about it !!
Then I started this one, and within a few pages ....I wanted to close my book and throw my Kindle out of the window...
I know this book has a trigger alert...but I am still gonna give out my own warning. This book deals with physical, psychological and emotional child abuse... and it damn near broke my black little heart !!!
There were some moments I even considered not finishing it because it hurt...
I have heard this author being referred to, as the "queen of angst" and I've got to say, that she really stuck to that title with this one !!
I myself am actually a sucker for angsty books, so I knew I just had to suck it up and keep on keeping on. I love book that make me "feel" and since this one gave me an overdose of "feels"...I have to give it 5 stars.
I don't want to go into the storyline too much, because I really don't want to spoiler it, so I am gonna keep this short.
Zed and Caspian meet one summer, when both are around 15 years old. They click instantly and form a deep bond, one that goes beyond friendship even. Both have horrible home lives in their own way....and both can't wait to be old enough to leave...
When things go from bad to worse, they decide they no longer want to wait until they are old enough to leave. But some things are just not meant to be and sometimes the people closest to you, are the ones who will betray you the most...
Years pass, but these boys, who slowly grow into men...they never forget, especially each other. It was love in the truest form...
This book cut open my chest, took my heart out, ripped it into pieces, sowed it back together and put it back in !! How is that for a visual :P
If you are a fan of angsty books and a sucker for young and "true love", then you should definitely give this one a shot. I am so glad I did... I highly recommend !!!
I must confess that I haven't read a lot of "love triangles" and there is a reason for that. They make me extremely nervous. I like angst in my books
I must confess that I haven't read a lot of "love triangles" and there is a reason for that. They make me extremely nervous. I like angst in my books but the angst that comes with "love triangles" can actually drive a person to drink. Which is why I am normally not a fan of this trope. You know who I am a fan of though... L.J. Shen !! So, me reading this book was a pretty much a done deal ;)
Writing a review is a bit of a challenge though because I really don't want to spoiler this story. I think it would best to jump into this one blind...
I am a huge fan of L.J. Shen's Sinners of Saint series. I loved all the HotHoles, which should tell you, how much I love a redeemable asshole !! Well, if you are anything like me...you are gonna love the hell out of this one...and out of Wolfe ;)
Wolfe Keaton was a kiss thief.
The heroine in this story, Francesca, she was a bit different than what I am used to...by this author... but also just in general. She was sweet, a bit naive, and shy...but she wasn't weak by any means. She was strong in her way. And even though I would have done things very differently than her...I still admired her. She wasn't exactly what I expected from a mafia princess. There were still times I wanted to shake her a bit though...
A Story of a Nemesis and a Villain with no chance at a happy ending.
This book definitely managed to make me "feel the feelz". Anxious, excited, angry, sad, happy are just some of the emotions I went through while reading, and I finished it in one go... No social interactions on this new years day for this girl :P I started the year exactly how I wanted to...with an awesome book !!
"Maybe I am the monster. After all, I come out to play at night. But so do you, little one. You're in the darkness too."
This one has unquestionably deserved a spot in my favorites list, though it hasn't surpassed "Ruckus" and "Bane" for me. That might never happen because I fell in love with those boys/men hard. Doesn't mean I didn't fall for Wolfe as well ;)
I highly recommend this book as well as any other one written by this author.
Aly Martinez has written some of my favorite books, "Broken Course" and "Fighting Solitude" being at the top of that list. I also read and loved "The Retrieval Duet" series. You know what I don't love though....Cliffhangers !! Thankfully I learned my lesson, so when I saw Aly was writing another Duet Series, I patiently waited until both books were out ... See I am clever that way :P
I just knew that I was gonna fall in love with this book. And I did, from the moment I opened it. It was EPIC... It's just a bit hard writing a review without giving too much away....
Let me start out by saying, that the very first page of this book reduced me to an emotional wreck !!
Both of the MC's in this book are very much broken. My heart went out to both of them, though I must say that I admired Cora just a tad bit more. I love how Aly writes the most awesome heroines and Cora will definitely be joining my list of "most awesome heroines EVER".
Cora has been through hell and back twice, but she has never let it affect her caring personality. Taking care of others, is just who she is... Doesn't matter if no one is there to care for her.... That's about to change though, everything is about to change, with the arrival of Penn and his brother Drew..
I loved how slowly all these secrets were being revealed, it kept me on the edge of my seat !! I also loved Cora and Penn's game of Truth or Lie....because sometimes lies are a necessity...
I won't be going into the plot any more than this. I think this one should be read without any major spoilers. I am however very happy, that I waited until both books were released, because that cliffy was a killer :P
I highly recommend this one to those who love a bit of dark, raw, real and sweet in their romance ;)

Ever since finishing "Shattered", I have been on pins and needles for Aleks' story. Those of you who are familiar with "The Protectors" series, know that Aleks is Dante's little brother. He was abducted 12 years ago and spend 10 years of his young life as a sex slave. Two years ago, he was finally rescued by Dante and Magnus in "Atonement". But let's not forget they had a bit of help...from Vaughn. He played a big part in Aleks' rescue.
Aleks is not doing as well as he would have liked. It's been two years and he thinks he should be doing way better. He pretends everything is fine, but that is mostly so Dante will be proud of him. He is far from oke though...
And getting abducted...again....and this time by the man he admired above anyone else, is not helping his mental state.....or is it ???
Vaughn knew when he first laid eyes on Aleks, that Aleks was special. He should have saved him right then and there, but Vaughn had an agenda of his own he needed to follow. That didn't stop him from saving Aleks' life though. When a choice had to be made, he chose Aleks....and in doing so, he screwed up his own mission. He won't ever regret his decision, but he does regret not doing something sooner...
No time to dwell in the past though, since the past is slowly trying to catch up with them....
I absolutely loved this one !! I fell for Aleks the moment he was introduced in Dante's book and I knew he was gonna be awesome. He is so strong and sweet and even though he has been through so freaking much...it hasn't made him bitter. He is definitely UNBROKEN !!!
Vaughn was everything Aleks needed and I loved the two of them together. What I also very much loved was meeting Vaughn's brothers (by blood and by heart), Luca, Con, Lex and King. I can't believe we are getting another spin-off !!
I am so excited about "The Four" ;) I knew right from the start who Luca's love-interest was gonna be...damn but I love it when I am right and I KNOW that their book is gonna be awesome. Just hurry up Sloane...please ;)
I highly recommend this and any other series by this author !!
