They've been together for seven years. They met in college and it was attraction at first sight. Love and marriage followed. An amazing future as baseball pro and baseball wife was on the horizon. Now seven years later ... everything is not so perfect anymore. They're struggling. With lots of things.
They're still so very much in love with each other, but ... ever since Elle started taking those hormones to help them have a child - she's been having this little sex addiction. They've always had an amazing sex life, but now Elle is just mega-über-sexed and she's not sure if she should tell Easton about her fantasies .... but of course - as the blurb already tells us - she does - and it's getting SEXAY!!!! ☺
This book starts by teasing us with a very kinky and sexy scene and then we go back seven years to how they met in college.
From reading the blurb, the reader already knows what might be coming. But what it doesn't tell us ... it's so much more than just a story about an old married couple fulfilling some kinky fantasies. Because that's not at all what's happening here.
We have this adorable and funny college story and then we fast forward to what happens in the present time - and we're not old at all! Elle and Easton are not yet 30 years old!
I just adored those two! They are so in love, but both are also so insecure in that love. They are afraid that they could be left at any time - they both think they are undeserving of the other.
I love that they talk about stuff though. Elle is not afraid to tell her husband about her fantasies - well, at least not too much. I just love that. We don't have those stupid misunderstandings and lies and whatnots - like in all the other books!
I adored the friends too! Funny and crazy and sad and adorable!
I can't wait to hear more from Elle, Easton and their gang!
Great erotic love story. Sexy, emotional, funny. A little different - but really beautiful!
The blurb is a tiny bit too erotic for the story. It wasn't this constant porn kind of book - not at all! It was definitely sexy, but the blurb sounds so much more erotic. Might be good to add a little bit to it ...

The South of France.
Sadie is traveling through Europe. She's about to leave for Barcelona, but on the way to the train station she almost gets her purse stolen by a creepy guy - and maybe something even worse would've happened. But she's saved by a mysterious, sexy stranger.
Olivier takes Sadie to the hospital and then home with him to his luxury hotel. Yup. His hotel. He's one of the Dumont siblings/cousins. THE Dumonts.
He's pretty happy with his bachelor lifestyle and his hotel business ... But ten years ago he made a stupid mistake and his creepy uncle is about to call in the debt ... that's why it's not a good idea to fall for this sweet American girl ...
Well. I liked that! I really did.
I loved the whole french, sunny, billionaire-y atmosphere.
Olivier is adorable. The typical poor rich boy. One with a past that will come calling soon.
And Sadie. She wanted out of her life for a while and Europe was amazing, until she found out that her idiot boyfriend cheated on her. But then she met Olivier and life is looking really good again. But she can't stay. She has to go back home. Her mom needs her.
Plus the whole Dumont family and their money and secrets are really scaring her ... But of course we all know that love has other plans... But Olivier and Sadie have to fight for their happily ever after...
I really adored reading this. It was sweet and funny and exciting and heartbreaking.
I didn't really love-love the whole bad guy thing. No, it was more that I didn't understand the why of it. Why were the bad guys bad? The uncle. Why??? He's not a poor guy ... why is he so creepy and power hungry? There's really no obvious need for all that in my opinion - but there had to be a bad guy for the story-line. It wasn't really logical, but it was ok for the story. And why was it sooo horrible what a 20 year old boy did 10 years ago? Makes no sense.
I also wish Karina would've asked a non-american french person to go over all her french sentences, but pff - who cares.
Great romance - can't wait to read the book about Olivier's sister next!

This time we get something a little different from Kylie Scott.
We have 26 year old florist Betty. Who is about to leave her fiancé Thom (34). He's just so boring and never home and ugh. It's just not what she expected her life as an almost married woman to be like. But suddenly she's being kidnapped and just like that her boring Thom is not as boring anymore. He never was. He just pretended to be the boring average guy. In real life he's a secret agent. An operative - or whatever you want to call him.
He's suddenly all sorts of hot and interesting! And he's also responsible for the fact that they're running for their lives! LOL!
This time Kylie doesn't give us a #RockStarRomance or a sweet little cutie romance.
It's a James Bondy kind of thing! But we still have lots of funny and adorable and sexy moments. Don't expect something completely suspensy and actiony and dangerous.
Yes, we are in dangerous and exciting situations most of the book, but all through the action and the running and waiting and looking for the bad guys and whatnot, we're trying to figure out if Betty can forgive Thom for lying - because our Thom doesn't want to give up on the first real relationship he has ever had. He loves being Betty's fiancé - he loves that she makes him feel like a normal guy.
I really adored those two! It was a great spy-dramancedy. ☺
I had some tiny little problems. Betty is 26. Had someone asked me how old I would guess she is? I would've said at least early thirties - she does not come across that young at all.
And then, just like in Kylie's last book - this book starts and we're right in the story. There's no warm-up - no foreplay - no prologue. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I kinda like it, because I hate unnecessary bla bla - but I also wanted a bit MORE before the real action begins. It feels like the book was a hundred pages longer, but an editor told Kylie she had to cut this and that and that and so much more ... it would've been better with some more pages.
But other than that - it was a cute little thrillery romance! I liked reading it! I wouldn't mind seeing it on TV one day!
And I REALLY love the cover!!!!!
LIES was a fun & sexy James Bondy dramance! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Thom - this one is MINE!!!
