That’s the kind of story Cherise Sinclair delivers.
If Xavier Leduc is the Liege of Dark Haven, then I declare Cherise Sinclair the Liege-ess (I know I just made that word up), the Mistress or perhaps more appropriately the Domme of storytelling that is all things delicious in the BDSM lifestyle. And she never fails to deliver a sexy, smart, loving, meaningful and ohh did I mention sexy story. I may have even teared up a bit while reading this one.
I’ve always maintained that it’s a really bad idea to go into a BDSM club under false pretences because if you get found out...watch out because the penalty may not be worth the crime. As a Professor facing cutbacks and potentially losing her job Abby Bern had great intentions when she infiltrated Dark Haven. She only intended to gather information to write a paper about the BDSM lifestyle. She had no intentions of outing anyone or exposing identities. Her paper was simply intended to examine the lifestyle and report on the relationship hierarchy within.
Abby never expected to make friendships with other women in the lifestyle or develop feelings for Xavier. And some of her experiences literally left her “hot” and “cold” at the same time...in a totally erotic sense. My Liege knows exactly how to make a woman “burn” when he delivers the “funishments” and he‘s pretty darn handy when it comes to “target“ practice as well. Once again Ms. Sinclair educates the reader with her descriptive scenes. Oh my *fans self*.
One of the things I enjoy about Ms. Sinclair’s writing is her heroines always seem like normal women, with very real insecurities about their bodies, their jobs and messed up family dynamics. And her Doms...her sinfully sexy, alpha-uber Doms are always the most loving, caring, hottest men on the planet.
As usual the secondary characters are interesting and diverse in their own right and I hope Lindsey gets a story in the future and if it’s with deVries, she should be very afraid (I’m afraid for her in a totally hot, butterflies in my stomach kind of way).
Dark Haven was a nice club to visit, but *whispers so as not to attract My Liege’s attention* I think I still prefer Club Shadowlands just a little bit better. ...more
