A comprehensive field guide that covers all the insect orders, major families therein, and the commonly occurring species with a short bio of each species with color photograph and size bar to scale. Each order and family gets a detailed discussion of life history, occurrence, and habitat with a line drawing showing form and body parts. Included also are other arthropod groups like spiders, harvestmen, millipedes, centipedes, and many other arthropods. No one field guide can cover all insects and related organisms in a single field guide. But this books does an great job of synthesizing much information into a well organized field guide. This is an excellent field guide for the advanced amateur naturalist.
