I made to force myself to even get to the halfway point of this book it was so bad. And it wasn't just the story either which was filled with enough forced sexual tension it made me sick, but the writing was also very simple and filled with sometimes paragraphs of stuff that was either unnecessary or the same thing being phrased in two or three different ways.
There were also a couple of pointless chapters only there to forced the main characters to physically touch each other and felt very forced.
I'm also not a big fan of cheating especially when one of the people cheating has only been single for 3 weeks after her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend.
And as a side note, is anyone really stupid enough to punch with their thump inside their fist? This isn't the first time I've seen this in a book or movie and I really don't get it, it doesn't even feel natural to me to make a fist like that let alone punch someone like that. ...more

The writing is cringy and just plain bad. It was also very predictable and repetitive.
However I could have forced myself to keep reading if it was only the writing that was bad, but the characters were horrible. It didn't help that the relationship in the book is a love triangle and everyone falls in love with each other instantly. Shayne and Reese while being stereotypical wasn't unbearable to read, they could have been worse. Piper, on the other hand, was a nightmare. Made worse by the fact that this book was written in first person. She was just so weak, whinny, and overall boring.
It's sad really because I was really looking forward to this book. I love Greek mythology and Dystopian novels so I had high hopes that I would enjoy this book, but it fell flat. I honestly don't understand how this book has so many five stars. Did they even read the book? I can't tell because most of them simply left a rating and said nothing about it....more
