I had read a few stories of overweight teens before and wondered if this was going to be a story about a girl who felt she was a big fat disaster and then found instant inspiration, which helped her to lose her weight. Thankfully, this story wasn’t that. It was so much more than that!
Colby is a confused 15 year old girl who is thrust into a world of change — and not by her choice. She is surrounded by an infuriating family (except for a couple of more distant relatives) and I found myself wanting to slap them all silly, especially, her mom. Fehlbaum writes this story in a unique way that makes you (the reader) feel like part of Colby’s world. Colby’s world is full of sadness. Her needs are always ignored. She is emotionally neglected and at times abused. Her narcissistic mother is one who tries to keep the outside looking pretty while the inside is a complete disaster.

A woman opens her eyes and finds herself on a train. She has no idea who she is, where she lives or how she got on the train. The only thing she knows is that she must do everything she can to find out. The answers to her identity lies in various clues she stumbles upon by chance. She begins to believe that she is in great danger and that someone is after her. Each clue brings her closer to her identity and closer to the danger. Not everyone she meets is who they seem to be, including her.

While Gone With The Wind is certainly one of my all time favorite novels, in my quest to get to know character Scarlett O’Hara better, I purchased the sequel written by Alexandria Ripley — appropriately named Scarlett.
When the story opens, Scarlett is at the funeral of her best friend Melanie Wilkes. Her life is shattered. Rhett has left her and her one and only friend has died. In an ironic twist of events, Ashley Wilkes — the man who Scarlett once obsessed over and the late Melanie Wilkes’ now widowed husband, is once again available. Even more ironic is that Scarlett has realized that she only wanted Ashley because she could not have him. She realizes (albeit too late) that Rhett was the man she was meant to be with. The Yin to her Yang. In typical Scarlett fashion she resolves to do everything in her power to win him back.

War of the Fae: Book 1 (The Changelings) -- we are introduced to trucker-mouthed rebel, Jayne Sparks and her sweetly shy but incredibly intelligent BFF Tony Green.
Jayne Sparks feels like a misfit and lives the ordinary life of a high school girl. However, what starts out as ordinary soon turns into extraordinary as Jayne and Tony (by process of elimination) are taken on an incredible journey. Jayne and Tony's adventure proves to both of them that they are far more special than either would have ever dreamed. A fantasy world is opened up to them and their dream of having a place where they truly belong is within arms reach.
There are a lot of moments in this book that made me laugh out loud.

I’m just going to go on record and say it right now… I am so sad this series is coming to an end. So sad in fact, that while I bought the book the day it was released, I couldn’t bring myself to read it until at least a week later.
