What an ending!! I absolutely love the infusion of Viking lore and the way this series is wrapped up is perfect!! So many ups and downs, I was gripped from start to finish and what a finish indeed! I don't normally enjoy longer series (and yes to me 7 books is long haha) but Age of Vampires moved so swiftly with twists to tease my desperation and intriguing characters to hold me enthralled that I'd read it all again. Whether you've yet to read this book or you're worried about starting the series just know that the ending will totally satisfy. Peckham and Valenti have teamed up and by colliding their specialties they've created a riveting fast-paced yet slowly seductive Dystopian Vampire Romance series that is a must read for anyone with even the tiniest spark of interest in such things....more

I just cannot keep up with Peckham and Valenti as they spin this series!! So many twists, epic cliff-hangers, action, romance, everything!! The pacing doesn't slow down in the least, instead the anticipation, desperation, and exhilaration continues to build and when you reach the end of this book you will need to read the finale and badly. Who knew Vampire Dystopia could be such a winning combo?? Honestly if you've come this far then you probably don't need my review to convince you to continue because once the first book gets its hook into you you'll be strung along gladly from beginning to end....more
Every time with the cliffhangers!! Beware these authors!! Haha ;)
This book just might have the most action in it yet. As Valentina strengthens her army and rises to power, the prophecy is pushed to the wayside as Callie, Montana, the Belvederes, and the slayers are forced to cut down their unrelenting attacks just to survive long enough for a gasp of air before welding their blades once again. Sweet moments of bliss begin this book but blood, betrayal, and the gods' infernal unrelenting games hijack any thought of peace. The only good thing to come from Valentina's madness is the alliance at last formed between the royals and the slayers. The pacing is so quick and the twists so maddening that you'll be dying for the final end to this story of monsters and men!...more

I NEED BOOK TWO!!! AHHH!!!
It didn't matter how long life forced me to put down this book day to day, the moment I picked it back up I was sucked right back into the story. Every. Time. With every chapter the emotions, the intensity, and the intrigue grows until you find yourself out of pages and desperate to know what will happen next.
We start off on Earth, although it's a grungy futuristic world run by an evil corporation called SpaceTech, but it isn't long before we begin following Maité across the universe with a hotbed of action biting at her heels. There was never a dull moment, everyone was always constantly working towards something, obstacles rose in a natural way, and even with the many setbacks thrown into Maité's path I never wanted to groan with an eye roll but rather would grip the book tighter eager to see what move she'd make next. The combination of character, plot, and world struck that magic chord in me that put this right up there on my favorites list.
Off Planet is but the beginning in a truly spectacular science fiction drama. With a kickass heroine who bears the future on her shoulders, a plot that melts down reality and time until you're lost to all but the story flashing before you, characters that will win your heart and have you pledge loyalty, and a world that is wicked cool...beware, for this is a recipe for addiction. An absolute recommend for both sci-fi fans and newbies alike!

On one hand I feel incredibly honored to be an advanced reader for these books but on the other hand I wish I'd waited until they were all published so I could just binge-read all six books haha! This series is so addicting!! I was clinging to the edge of the cliff after book 3 and inhaled each page in this one. Now I'm left desperate to know what will happen next!
At first, sisters Callie and Montana are torn apart fighting to reunite, and then their paths collide only to leave Montana and Erik clawing to get back to one another afraid to accept the painful choice of family or each other as a mutually exclusive. As a thousand-year feud comes to a head in this book we get tons of action and I was continually finding myself holding my breath but the bonds of sisterhood are stronger than the gods deigned to realize and Callie and Montana might not only prove to be the answer to the vampire curse but they at last know who the real enemy is - not the slayers or the vampires, but the gods who use them as toys.
(view spoiler)[Callie and Magnar finally get to fully confess their love for one another thanks to her mom's ring and eventually her ability to throw off Idun's power/the binding of mentorship, but I admit my heart swoons extra for Montana and Erik so I'm desperately hoping/waiting for their chance to breathe even for but a moment amidst all this hellish chaos working so hard to tear them apart and allow them to just be in love haha. All the action and plot twists have my heart racing with exhilaration as I devour each chapter but I also want my beloved characters to have time to be happy and in love. Why must the gods be so meddlesome!! haha!(hide spoiler)]
If you're interested at all in dystopia with a paranormal/vampire twist then you seriously need to consider Age of Vampires as a series to be your fix because it is so good!...more

This series just doesn't stop, does it? Haha just when you think everything is going one way something flips it upside down. In book 3 we watch with wide-eyes as Callie faces the true depths of her choice to take the Slayer vow, something with more strings attached than the whispered promises that led her to take it. On the other side of the country Montana confronts her impending wedding as she battles within herself over what her heart desires and what her memories taught her to fear. The history, the prophecy, the characters' pasts all become more and more clear as they battle the present and fight for the future. At the end of book 2 we saw Callie and Montana's paths closing in on one another but no reunion could possibly come so easily as they might hope so they each must arm themselves however they can to seize the opportunity when at last it arrives. Once more the adrenaline of the plot rushes us towards an epic cliff-hanger and I feel at a complete loss as to what to do next until I can finally hold book 4 in my hands (or, well, my Kindle). This book was certainly not disappointing! It was a one-day binge and I can't wait to read more!...more

Book 1 set everything up, the characters and plot building and sinking its hooks into me as I climbed all the way to that cliff-hanger which shoved me over the edge when my back was turned and book 2 has been the adrenal rush that comes after. And yet even as things seemed to almost settle for a moment another cliff's edge came up before I could stop and now I'm in the free-fall of its aftermath until I can grab onto book 3. I'm telling you, this series so far is delivering an excellent combo of vampires, dystopia, and romance! We get to learn more about what's going on with a few POV chapters from Erik and Magnar so now details and pieces from book 1 start to come together with what's going on in book 2 and I'm waiting with bated breath to see what waits at the end as the answers lurk so tantalizingly close! This series really is fun and addictive. We’ve moved beyond the initial fallout, the characters are settling into this new life of survival, and yet they’re still learning more about the nightmarish experiments that hunt them down in the woods or crawl between the streets. Book four has us witnessing the organization of a first real post-chaos town and while things seem pretty good in Franklin there remains more than one bloodthirsty enemy stalking the fence. And these characters aren’t the sort to just hunker down and play cards, the world is still devolving (or perhaps evolving) and their next mission is to try and cut off the contamination from the source.
Wild adrenaline-pumping action in a crazy apocalyptic setting, Valenti writes a series with a fresh twist in each step.

Oooooo! This book concludes the Vampire Games and takes us into the Wolf Games! This is a good series to pull up on the good ol' Kindle when in a book slump or just if looking for a thrilling tale to pass the time. Yeah these books dance with horror and scenes that truly made me cringe, but at the same time it was all so fast-paced and fresh it was exciting. These books feel like quick reads and the series strikes a nice balance between "deep and dark" and "yay romance!" which worked for me.
If you're on the hunt for something in the paranormal genre, perchance something with vampires, werewolves, and hunters hell-bent on destroying them all, but you want it with a refreshing twist, then definitely check out the V Games Trilogy, and if it suits your taste then you'll be thrilled to know that this wild world established will continue on past the original trilogy (made particularly exciting because it will focus on two fantastic side-characters that simply demand their own time to really shine)!

This book picks up right where the last one ended and Altered (book 2) ended with a serious cliffhanger on the cusp of action. So for a moment I had to sort out my brain and remember where we were and what was going on but this book wastes no time carrying on!
Now as for the plot…in Afflicted this group of teens and marines tries to get to Haven’s gates before they close, in Altered they race towards a secured town called Franklin, and in Adapted we see what unravels as they cross Franklin’s borders. What was supposed to be a promise land of security from the raging earth and its creatures turns out to be, well, quite well protected actually, but what they didn’t count on was it being overtaken by a cult. And unfortunately once within their sights they don’t give anyone the option to leave.
Adapted pulls the gang off their constant run for survival and lulls them with safety but the darkness that lurks beneath such comforts may come at too high a cost. High-paced and wild this dystopian sequel doesn't pull any punches as it traps all with its promise of freedom.

Okay, I admit at first I struggled a teensy bit as this book seemed to move a bit slow in the beginning but it didn't take long to whisk me away and even before then there's something about this world that holds me captivated. Plus after the shocking ending of book one I was dying to know what would happen next!
Ari is a precious cinnamon roll that I would die to protect. Rab is feisty force to be reckoned with. Mas is a man with many secrets that I'm dying to unearth. (Also my latest fictional crush hehe) Sorek is both lovable and clever and he too has a well of mystery brewing within him that I'd like to explore.
Quelling is the thrilling sequel to an epic dystopian fantasy series that puts its competitors to shame. With careful, methodical plotting, and characters that will cause endless turmoil and intrigue, prepare to find yourself submerged in a world of blurred alliances and a deep fire threatening to destroy it all. Riveting, complex, and pricked with soft smiles amidst the bloodshed, this is definitely a series worth investing in.
I remain hungry for more and cannot wait to read what happens next! This world, these characters, it's all sunk deep roots into my head and I'm 100% committed to reading every book until the end!

I. Am. OBSESSED.
Okay this book was right up my alley. It's an intriguing blend of fantasy and dystopia. While the world-building and monsters beyond the wall build this story upon a fantasy foundation, the plot itself is very dystopian. The humans live within walled cities protected and ruled by the mighty Hulcondan soldiers, but what if the real monsters aren't lurking beyond the border? What if they're hiding in plain sight within their own home? Perhaps the monsters lurk on both sides of the wall?
Something that truly brought this story up a level was choosing to write it with dual POVs: the feisty Rabreah, and her younger timid sister Ariliah. By doing this we get to see two perspectives on the living situation of life within the wall and under Hulcondan rule, which seriously upped the intrigue factor.
Another standout element was the character work. Each character is multidimensional with pasts, presents, and questionable futures. Whether hero or villain each character will have moments that make you second guess your assumptions and gut-reactions. As the book opens it's only natural to accept the POV's thoughts as truth but as the story unfolds you'll begin to wonder just how much more is going on that neither sister sees or understands. Perhaps the monsters don't all bite and the heroes won't always save the damsel in distress.
If you go into this expecting basic, straightforward YA writing then you'll miss the plot entirely because it is packed with layers upon layers both in the action and the characters. Trust no one and nothing for there is always more than what you see. Everything is complicated like real life and that's what I really loved about it. Everyone wears a mask yet some aren't a mask at all, but how to tell?
Sowing kicks off a series filled with one-way mirrors, mystery, and the bonds of sisterhood. Packed with action, forbidden desires, and players keeping their cards close to their chests, this series is a intriguing read for both fans of fantasy and dystopian fiction.

Overall this series has some truly frightening and lovely world-building and the lead cast of characters are all fantastic (although I wish we could’ve gotten to know some more side characters, but that’s just me haha). I was drawn in with this gritty P.I. persona colliding with the supernatural in book one and by book three I was holding my breath for what began as a seemingly simple romance had grown into basically a battle to stop the end times.
