Might be due to the yoga aspect, might be because Harrison was struggling with things, might be because the whole Wynn family is facing a horrible thing that could/would change their whole dynamic, then you throw in Arya's past, just a lot of things going on.
I liked that Harrison was smitten with Arya from the start, that he persued her and went at her pace. Were there some bumps, yes, but those were overcome through talking. When Arya explained things to Harrison it changed things between them for the better. I liked that as these two were exploring their relationship Arya was there for Harrison as his personal life sort of imploded and that she was there as he worked through what was going on in his professional life.

I wasn't sure I was going to like it After reading a book that gutted me this was just the one to follow it up. At times this one is silly and crazy. I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first because Beck comes off as a big man-child, and not in a good way, but the more you read the more you see that Beck is all about looking after those he calls family. They all seem to have an open door at this house, they congregate there as Beck is fun to be around, he sees the good in everything. It's due to this that you can see how the tweet went wrong. Going to his sister it would have all been tongue in cheek (those closest to him knowing that), going to a stranger...well he deserved all the hate he got.
Sarah was a good balance for Beck, super smart and hiding a secret of her own, one that made her know how much bad publicity can do to a person. I loved how the two of them helped Beck get out of the hole he was in, how Beck helped Sarah face her past, he helped her embrace her parents.

What I liked about this one was the quiet time before hand where Peter was contemplating his life, how things were progressing with June and how he was trying so very hard to overcome the static. I fear what happened in this book made worse the latter, but also helped June understand Peter so much better and for her to like him as he is. I hated how threatened Ian felt in this one. First at the restaurant, then at home. With his history with the guys it's easy to see why he didn't want to tell them, but of course they all found out and stepped in to help. It lead to some crazy times at the end, but it also lead to the heart of what these guys are about...protecting the little guy and giving second chances. Sure Ian made a difficult decision, but once he did all of the guys were behind him 100% and lending support where they could.

PricWhile this one was a MC book it didn't have a lot of that in it. The book more focused on the relationship between Price and Gray, which I liked. Price definitely doesn't run his club like most, as witnessed by his behavior with Brisco. I liked how things worked out there and how everything was exposed to the club and to Gray.
Gray was interesting. She totally knew about the MC life, liked it and found a way to be a part of it with her bar. I liked how things changed for her when Price and his guys started coming around. It was a good thing she was familiar with the MC life with all that she had to go through, other women would have ran at any number of points.
Gray and Price were great together. I liked that they were honest with each other, even when Price said there were times he couldn't talk, but he would tell her he couldn't talk, not lie. That felt like it was ok to me.

It's always funny to see how everyone reacts to her. Most think she's a bitch at first, but then when her mind makes these crazy leaps and figures things out they realize she isn't a bitch, just not all that great with people. I thought it interesting that others are noticing her team "managing" her by not letting her get off on her "Miranda" tangents, better was Miranda starting to notice this as well. As a team they are really starting to gel and work well together, to depend on the others to get what they don't.
I still want the CIA bitch to get hers though. She's so sneaky and gets away with everything. I want her to be found out and taken down in a spectacular way!...more

So it was sad to see Monica thrown off her game, beaten down by bad luck. I loved that Naomi turned to Stocks to help with her with Monica. Stocks was always there to help, he understood Monica in a way that no one else could. But the most important part is that Stocks still saw Monica as the queen she was at their first encounter. I loved how time and time again he showed Monica that with his words and actions. And as much as Stocks helped Monica, she helped him too, was there to help him find a new direction in life. I didn't care for Yiayia when she first came to town, she had a bit of a mean streak, but spending time with Gramma Finnie seemed to soften her and Finnie called Yiayia out when the meanness popped back up.
While running around town looking for a dog, trading one errand for another, for another to get the dog we learn Yiayia's history. After hearing that it's easy to see why she had that streak of mean, but also how she could get past it. I think by sharing it with Finnie it will take away the hold it had on it. It was also fun to see Pru's view of the story, or at least the PG parts.

There are 2 big things going on in this one. First how instantly smitten Seth was with Mara and Finnley. I was glad that they had months on the phone to get to know each other, it made things down the road easier for them.
The second thing is Amelia and Seth sleeping together one drunken night. I get that that sounds bad after my last comment, but at this time Seth and Mara weren't together, had only met once, were only chatting on the phone and lived in different towns, none of that was changing anytime soon. I liked that both Amelia and Seth acknowledged what they did was wrong, that they didn't have feelings for each other than sibling type feelings and how neither really knew what happened other than being naked and a used condom on the floor. I will say at this point I thought Amelia would end up pregnant, but was torn because even then you could see Seth was intrigued by Mara and there really were no feelings for Amelia.
Things start to happen fast, Mara gets the job she interviewed for 6 months prior, she's moving to town, the job is with the construction company, she's renting Mark's house and through it all Seth is right there helping Mara adjust. They start dating right away, Mara reluctantly, Seth letting Mara set the pace. They talk about hard stuff, Finnley's father, Mara's lack of family, they start building a family and are damn cute doing it. You are rooting for them, even as you know the night between Amelia and Seth will blow things up.
And sure enough it does, but not how you expect. Mara is rocked, questioning everything, talks to Amelia and after hearing her side of things her mind explodes because Amelia has cancer, the bad kind of cancer, one that she doesn't want to fight because she wants her last days to not be sick. In fact she found out about this cancer the day she slept with Seth. It was her "why" of getting stupid drunk, the kind of drunk to sleep with a BFF, the kind of drunk that you black out and can't remember. Learning this forces Mara to look at things in a different light, she knew Seth didn't cheat on her, they weren't dating, Amelia didn't betray her, she just needed something to help her cope.
It's from here you really need the tissues, because we haven't hit the worst of things. After Amelia, Mara and Seth tell the group everyone rally's around Amelia, they want her to fight, to do something, but at the next appointment days after everything has come out we find out Amelia is pregnant. BOOM.....there it was, what I thought would happen and things get messy, so very messy. Once again the group is convened, more info given, now Amelia is not going to fight, she wants the baby, her last days spent being a mom.
The drama is crazy, everyone putting on a stiff upper lip, doing what they can to help Amelia live out her bucket list. Amelia happy and sad. She's having a baby, but knowing she won't raise it, knowing her baby will be loved by Seth and Mara, knowing her BFF will be her baby's mother. All of them creating memories so the baby can know how great Amelia was. Even Finnley got in on the action. So much time reading through tears, some bittersweet, some sad, a few happy. But in the end we have a group of people who all love each other no matter what, a group of people building family where everyone jumps to help whenever needed and a family that will forever be missing an important part....more

Daddy's Girl - Melissa Marr This one was flat out creepy. I didn't like how calm Iris was about things, to say she had issues is not even close to what was going on.

I’m a sucker for the surprise kid, one who is precocious and how the new parent doesn’t have a clue how to deal with them. This fit Regan and Cazador to a t! Cazador took the right tone with Regan from the start, honest and treating her like a mini adult and sharing his not so good past, a past that showed Regan that he understood her. Right from the start JJ was there with Cazador and the guys helping Regan adjust, giving her another adult that was in her corner.
