I found this copy of What We See When We Read in the reading/books section of my local Half Price Books. I didn't really know what to expect but wasI found this copy of What We See When We Read in the reading/books section of my local Half Price Books. I didn't really know what to expect but was immediately intrigued by Mendelsund's unique voice and the use of images to explain the complex processes that occur between our brain and our eyes when we read. I have sticky noted numerous pages and definitely plan to go back through this book again and again. I see many of the chapters as important conversation starters about the reading process(es), particularly for high school and post-secondary English instructors. It's definitely worth the read....more
