I bought this book in paperback and then because I just could not get enough of it, I bought it on my Nook. Oh you deceiving covers.
So this story is about Charlie, a girl who has (up until now) never been kissed and the events that unravel after the much awaited kiss comes. This book is definitely geared for a younger audience. My younger, much more innocent self would have appreciated this book a lot more than I, as an adult, did.

This series starts off with a boy named Vlad. He's just a normal eighth grader. You know. The typical one that gets picked on, that has a crush on a girl who's out of his reach, oh and did I mention he's a vampire? What better way to get on with your middle school year than to worry about whether your fangs pop up or having someone discover you. Vlad is just about to learn what it means to live life as a real vampire.
I honestly enjoyed it. I loved the easy flow of the words on the page. I especially liked Vlad. His character is just really relatable. I so totally would've been his friend if I would've known him. He has doubts, insecurities, and just this personality that's totally to die for. After his teacher goes missing, he doesn't find any comfort in their new sub. He just kind of creeps him out. After his appearance, he starts learning more about where he came from (through his vampire side since he is half vamp and half human). I loved the plot! It was very unique and it def made me go through the book in just a few hours. My favorite character had to be Henry though. His best friend always had something to say and sometimes he would just crack me up with the things he said. I guess it makes me go back to that era when I was that young. I'm def digging this series and can't wait to dive into the next one! ...more
Another awesome Simone Elkeles novel! I abs do love her novels just because they have alternating point of views, so you get the story from both sidesAnother awesome Simone Elkeles novel! I abs do love her novels just because they have alternating point of views, so you get the story from both sides. Maggie is a very strong willed person. After she learns that Caleb got out of juvi early and would be attending her school, she kept reminding herself that it was no big deal and she faced him with her head held high. Juvi seems to have changed Caleb in many different ways, it also changed his family. But when both of them start working together, sparks fly and it’s surprising what really happens. This novel isn’t like anything else I've ever read, so if you want a happy ending, go lucky book then this won’t be your piece of sun kind of novel because it’s just very honest. The character’s have real life problems, there are secrets that could change everything, and most of all, there is the chance at finding true love in midst of everything. “Returning to Paradise” is the sequel to this novel, which comes out September 2010! I will honestly run to the store when it comes out! I give this novel 4 out of 5 paws. ...more

She wants to make this not an elite get asked to join kind of thing but something that anyone at school could do it. So she sets off and starts researching new techniques. Her love life is getting even more complicated as it already seems. She can't seem to get rid of Heath, her human ex boyfriend. While she feels as if she's neglecting her smexy new vampyre boyfriend, Erik. Anyway I don't really don't want to keep explaining because I don't want to ruin the book...
Anyway.. I really enjoyed the idea of this novel. The writing is abs awesome and I love the fact that P.C. Cast included her daughter in writing this series. However, I hated how they seemed to keep repeating the same things over again from the first novel. It gets tad bit tiresome after a while. There's a lot of sexuality in this one.. and the love triangles are getting to be a little bit too much. But over all I really liked this novel. Zoey's character is totally a bad ass and her friends are some that I would have loved to have back in high school. Especially Stevie Rae. Overall I give this novel 3.5 out 5 paws...more
