So, of course getting a copy of this Valentine’s Day edition was worthy of a good squeal and giggle. Gerry is still the “Very Fairy Princess”. And it is time for her to make Valentine’s Day cards. After she makes them, she borrows a folder from her dad so that they won’t get ruined. The next morning she hurries to dress in all her heart clothing. Then she rushes to school, only to find out that she grabbed her dad’s work folder instead of the folder with her Valentines in them. What will she do?!? In typical Gerry-style she figures it out. She ends up “telling” her valentine’s to the class instead of giving them a paper one. And then her dad comes to drop off the folders and the day is saved for a second time.
I liked how even though something as catastrophic as forgetting your valentines for the class Valentine’s Day party happened, Gerry figured out a way to still make everyone understand just what it was she wanted to tell them in with the valentines. I liked how the class responded positively to something that could have made them mad and upset. And I like the amount of hearts, sparkles, wings, and pink that went along with Gerry’s outfit. This is the perfect book for a young fairy or princess reader who loves the subject of…well…love and Valentine’s Day. ...more

It will turn your brain to GOO!” As the valentine meets up with boys, girls, and teens they all have different reactions as to what they think about Leon’s attempt to tell Zoey Maloney that he loves her. Eventually Leon and his valentine bump into Zoey and her valentine (who Leon’s valentine thinks is awfully cute).
With the funny chant and classic fairytale structure, this is one story I can’t wait to tell to a group of kids. (And then to go and tell others about it as well.) The boys will like the chant of how yucky, stinky and gooey love is. The girls will like the ending. And the grownups will like the giggles that come from reading a book. Nice! ...more
