I'd been waiting for this book a really long time and I was so not let down. I was immediately back in the world of Aetheria, flying with Angels and Dragons. This book is a high fantasy and it keeps you glued from page to page with it's intriguing Prologue, to the mythology embedded within, to the battles and assassination assignments, which all come together to make one hell of a story. The story line was epic!! The plot twists, as well as the suspense, darkness of the characters and even the Lightness of them, too, were epic!! The characters themselves were well written and I must say this author writes to my very liking, it was in the way the story was conveyed. The writing style, choice of words. I chose to give this short story five stars because I love the feels I received from reading it. If you're familiar with The Tidal Kiss Trilogy, then I chose to give this short story five stars because I love the feels I received from reading it. If you're familiar with The Tidal Kiss Trilogy, then you know the mythology surrounding Atargatis. If you're not familiar with The Tidal Kiss Trilogy, then this would be a great way to start a new series, especially if mermaids are your thing. I liked the setting of the story, Victorian era. Women weren't really able to be independent without a man or enough money. Insane, right? But it happened and still continues to this day, but it's nice to feel hope. And things could all change in a moment. Magically or not, it definitely applies to everyday life. This book, it's so beautifully written, almost poetic. I also adore Atargatis!! She's defiant to her husband, Poseidon, but for all the right reasons. It's funny. But really, she's one of my favorite characters in the series. Poseidon is a bit of an alpha male though. (And for the record I loved seeing the swoon-worthy Orion, without Callie, hehe) If you love Greek mythology, mermaids, and new beginnings one click this magically romantic tale....more

Callie is crowned Queen and has to deal with all the responsibilitiesThe Kiss That Saved Me is a marvelous continuation from The Kiss That Killed Me. Callie is crowned Queen and has to deal with all the responsibilities that come with the title. All the while trying to figure out who she is now. It definitely puts a strain on her relationship with Orion. And speaking of, he's so damn swoon worthy. I love their dynamic. While crazy stuff happens, they actually see through their issues, and come out better for it. Azure and Starlet, that was heartbreaking. And the same with Azure, she isn't dark, it's just a part of her. I love that notion. And Vex, ah, what can I say of that sly fkr? I love him but then I hate him. So to wrap this up, this is a fascinating, colorful-sometimes dark, world that the author has created and it really makes me want to jump in the ocean and find Callie. No, I'm just playing. It's in the way she told a paranormal romance story filled with fairies, vampires, werewolves, magic wielders, there's even a dragon!! The whole flaming wolf thing, has my attention. I love Wolfe. This is the start of an addictive, magical new seriesAn ARC was thrown my way and I read this book, and the following is my own thoughts of the story.
This is the start of an addictive, magical new series, from a talented author who has created a Realm that is only privy to others; witches, vampires, and werewolves to name a few. The story, itself, is full of surprises, keeping you on your toes. I never knew what was coming, I was fascinated by the Realm, with it's two moons, that let shifters shift at will & with a sun that won't burn up vampires. Of course, there's witches, and it's oh, so magical. You're taken on a journey of self discovery, a princess, who discovers she's more than what she knew along with realizing her destiny and all that entails. And just for good measurement, there's a hot and sexy love triangle that our princess is smack-dab in the middle of. However, I'm thinking she's allowed to that, since... Well, I'm not going to spoil it!! These characters are solid, relatable. You feel with them, some you feel for, and none at all for some. The main character never waivers in what she believes in, she stays true to herself, throughout the story. The ending wrapped up well, you know there'll be more and you will, indeed, want more. So for me, it was an intriguing, unique, sexy paranormal read, one I refused to put down, and am anxiously awaiting the next book. Five Fangtastic stars from this reader....more

Another reason for wantinI'm going to start off with saying how gorgeous the cover is. It's apart of the reason I was interested in reading the book. Another reason for wanting to read this story was because who its from!! Dani Hart wrote The Arie Chronicles a few years back and since I read that series & loved it, I had to see what this new story was about, naturally. It's a #YA #ParanormalRomance that's full of intrigue, emotions, and is truly unique. And honestly, there is a love triangle but it seems nonexistent or even one-sided. I'm under the impression Abby and Wes are destined and Eli is just...there. I mean, I like Eli, but I want Abby & Wes together. So I guess you could say I'm #TeamWes over here. I think any lover of Young Adult Paranormal genre is going to want to buy this one of a kind, clean read. It amazes me how I got so caught up in this story with the teen-angst but felt it was on such a mature level. Of course, I want more and saw on Facebook that book two will be called Midnight Winters & is due in August. It's definitely going in the most fav. list this year. Isla is a sassy, spunky, sexy fashionista/killing-machine. Yea, that was a mouthful. And she also just happens to be one of the best characters I've come across in a long time. My opinion, for a vampire, Isla pretty sure has humanity figured out. I love the idea of her being such a known killer but really compassionate at her core. Ying and Yang, I guess. Her hunky alpha vampire slayer...well come on, he's some type of an upgraded human and I'm pretty sure there's going to be a book two. He's so full of mystery and I know I keep guessing at what he really is. But I won't know, until book two. And so I'll move on. The King...Well...I love him and even admire him for standing strong in the face of a rebellion, which, by the way, is against him. There are a numerous amount of characters you grow very fond of and all the while you're on guard not knowing who to trust. It all just feels like a big setup, you're winding through the twists & turns to setup for the biggest cliffhanger of 2017 that is!! The 100% mark of this book is guaranteed to make you want more. It's NOT over, it can't be. I DO NOT ACCEPT THAT ENDING. But I do accept a great story full of blood, mythology, and the simply hilarious inner & outer banter that is Isla. Even though there's a cliffy, you still think about the story and characters afterward. I've got my eyes on this series, as I can quickly become a raging fangirl at the potential fandom that is becoming The Vein Series by Anne Malcolm....more

Darkshine, in it's own neat way, blew me away. The reason was because we're dealing with Faeries. This is for Adults, (go away little teenagers, or come to the dark side, lol pun intended.) with adult themes and adult situations. Our main character is a Changeling not too shocking when we're dealing with Faeries though. But what is shocking was this chick realizes this halfway through her life. She's already living a mundane life. She's got a husband, who is a bit of a misogynistic, creepy, cop-loser. Truly, I am repulsed. She accepts her life his 'normal'. There's a saying that comes to mind, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit." Yea, only certain events happen that throws all that out of the window and she's trusted into a world where a.) She's got to survive. Easier said than done. b.) She's constantly trying to figure out the truth in all those garbled lies. c.)She's got to find out who she is, all by herself. This book is adventurous, magical, and downright neat. I can honestly say that I have never read a book like this. Or in other words, I cannot compare it to anything else I've read. It's unique and it's truly a blessing from the Book Gods when you come across a book like this because all I want is more. ...more

Lineage is one of those books where you start reading and you don't stop until you're at 100%, and then you're left wanting so much more!! What was really neat were the intermissions. The Author warns you to proceed at your own risk and you do anyway because you have to know what happens and who's behind it all. So, let's tell you a little of what this story entails. Joey, our main-female-character, has moved from place to place, finally settling down in her hometown(or from where her descendants hail from.) Her mom is nowhere to be found, apparently, she's off on business. Joey is by herself. Some weird things are happening in the town and as the book starts off, you're introduced to those weird things but not quite knowing exactly what they are. This Author is a complete master at showing you, just not telling you what's happening. That's why you're going to be on the edge of your seat wondering who, what, when, where(Well not really where, you know where.), and why. So, weird stuff is happening and a gorgeous blue-eyed stranger helps her out. He's also a bit frustrating with his fine looking self. He's very much the brooding type, but hey, aren't all gorgeous alpha males like that? I, personally, loved her friend, Carl. Not in the romantic way, but he's such a good friend. You need a friend sometimes. And to let you in on a secret, the gorgeous blue-eyed stranger is much more than he appears to be, he's also with a group of Paranormal Investigators, or at least that's what I think of them as. They're there to stop the weird stuff. Turns out Joey has a lot more buried in her blood than she thinks and the question is, can she figure out who's after her before their next move on her? I will tell you that this book has a bit of a cliffhanger. It's not in the way you're thinking, it's more of a who is this person-type of cliffhanger, mixed in with who are these people-type of cliffhanger. I definitely need more. My new year of reading has definitely started off right with this book and I am so very thankful, because I want you, the reader to know that this book is so worth the read!!...more

I think This is the second book in the Othala Witch Collection series I've read and, seriously, this is a world that I love escaping from reality to. I think it's neat that all these Authors have decided to tell a story from each Sector. Different places around the world, in this post-apocalyptic world. There's romance that's set off by the sizzling chemistry between the two Main Characters. So much intrigue, you'll be spellbound. And even though this is only the second book of the series I've read, I've got to say I think I see a theme/message here. It became real clear in the end. This world, that these Authors have all written for, I believe, are showing us, the readers, how to make our world better. I get we don't live in a post-apocalyptic world but there are other ways for us to advance, I guess you could say, as a civilization, we can move forward and find different ways of doing things. THAT is what I got out of this book. So, the storyline is awesome. The characters are well developed and be prepared love-to-hate, hate-to-love with some of these characters. I'm going to have to read them all as far as the series goes. I just can't get enough of the spellbinding world, that gives the reader a sense of hope against all odds....more

Reaped from Faerie was still awesome except for one itsy-tiny thing...It needed more of Sophie eating a damn good burger!! I get she slept for twenty-four hours but damn, eat a burger before going to bed, and make Owen pay for it, lol. I loved the story, a crazy little witch is truly on a delusional path and it's kind of getting out of hand. Enter Sophie. It even got emotional there, like twice, once with Belinda and the other with Owen(#Swoon). Oh, it was super-duper juicy there at the end. Lips are sealed but there's a battle!! There is not a cliffhanger, so that was a major plus!! You see Sophie & Owen's relationship enhance to something a bit more. And it's still humorous but with less burgers than the first....more

If you know me, you know I am a lover of #Mermaids. My name is Ariel, take a hint, people. I was six years old, and The Little Mermaid was my obsession!! Living under the Sea, being royalty, having an all consuming love, and of course, it being oh, so magical...like, I dreamt of that. And now I can finally say that as a thirty-one year old adult, my obsession has returned. With descriptions like this: Towering above the Occulta Mirum in all its splendour is a gargantuan palace, it looks big enough to fit Cinderella’s castle in at least twice and is a stunning shade of bottle green. My six year old self does a little happy dance. And this isn't The Little Mermaid as far as the story goes. Yes, for the most part, this story is under the Sea, she learns to assimilate to her new lifestyle.(Mildly put.) Yes, eventually, our Main Character becomes Royalty. She's curious but not enough to kill the cat. Unbeknownst to them, they'll have to pay a price for said Royalty. Yes, she has her very own all consuming love, which is so damn beautiful yet, heartbreaking, but then its triumphant. Yes, its truly oh, so magical. Throw in a Prophecy and a badass weapon of mass destruction, loveable, wicked characters, and the gorgeous detail that went in this, & you've got yourself a story worth anchoring down away from the real world. I left a whole bunch out but this is definitely going down in the Favorites list. How could it not? Mermaids crying tears that turn into diamonds. How pretty & valuable. The Banished & the psirens, it so works!! Hydraball. That was so fun!! The Mythology that is embedded in the story has me hooked!! That ending, so ominous. Its going to be juicy. (I hear an evil laugh far off in the distance.) So to conclude my review, the Author has created a unique world where you don't want to leave. But I love it!! I don't think this book is a novella, aka a shorty, but I did finish it in one day. I thought the whole #dystopian vibe was spot on. Then the Author threw in #magic!! It was magical. So, a little bit about this story...The Sector must find a Queen to mate with the Regent in order to keep the Sector protected, through magic, in order to kept out the Ravagers. Both Regent and Queen have or carry magic. With the current Display proving they are still in search of their Queen, the Regents’ Guard are witch hunters. They capture the Queens, aka witches. Head of the Regent’s guard is Alec, he spotted their next Doomed Queen from a mile away!! She puts up quite a fight, is even brazen, to say the least. However, they both felt that connection to each other. It's why he gave her thirteen days of freedom before he turned her in. Well that and for her to prepare for the Display and the Regent. She basically needs to hone her skills in and learn all she can before her time is up. So the question then becomes, can she do it? Can she save the Sector from the Regent? I'll never tell. What I can tell you is that this story is constantly on the move, it's well written and well worth every ninety-nine pennies I'll spend, since I pre-ordered it. I thought the alternating POV’s give the story more depth. It's not just one sided. And of course, the #magic. The way it read and they way I visualized it, it was beautiful!!
