There were several aspects of the book that made it pretty awesome. The humor, the song references, and even the movie references. Lots of laughs. This is the start of an addictive, magical new series, from a talented author who has created a Realm that is only privy to others; witches, vampires, and werewolves to name a few. The story, itself, is full of surprises, keeping you on your toes. I never knew what was coming, I was fascinated by the Realm, with it's two moons, that let shifters shift at will & with a sun that won't burn up vampires. Of course, there's witches, and it's oh, so magical. You're taken on a journey of self discovery, a princess, who discovers she's more than what she knew along with realizing her destiny and all that entails. And just for good measurement, there's a hot and sexy love triangle that our princess is smack-dab in the middle of. However, I'm thinking she's allowed to that, since... Well, I'm not going to spoil it!! These characters are solid, relatable. You feel with them, some you feel for, and none at all for some. The main character never waivers in what she believes in, she stays true to herself, throughout the story. The ending wrapped up well, you know there'll be more and you will, indeed, want more. So for me, it was an intriguing, unique, sexy paranormal read, one I refused to put down, and am anxiously awaiting the next book. Five Fangtastic stars from this reader....more

This is one of those books you're going to need a box of tissues. Now, I'm all for an ugly cry but be prepared; I warned you. So much happens in this tragic, yet, beautiful story. And I'll be honest, I was going to set this book aside for a much later day but instantly, I was hooked. I kept asking myself. “Ariel, you don't even like contemporaries, what's so special about this one?” A part of me thinks it was the mystery of not knowing but as I kept reading and as the answers were revealed it broke my heart. And I must admit, I didn't think the author could put Bay back together again. Yeah, I put in a Humpty Dumpty reference in there. How could I not?
Not even a baby or all her good men could put Baylor back together again.
However, while the author shredded my emotions all over the place, she did an astounding job of making the wrong right...no scratch that…she allowed her characters to heal from the wrongness of life and move forward, no matter how hard that can be and that was what mended this readers’ heart. Yeah, it was an epic love story or stories, as you may learn. Memories of Us has got to be my favorite of contemporary of the year!! I encourage all readers to buy & love this book. Not surprising, however, it's totally different from how she obtained her previous Nactghuls. With false gods and the Council on the heels of the three heads of Hell, and trying to gain the trust of not only her Angel but her Soulmate, can Anjali keep it together without losing it all? What I really got a kick out of was the fact that it was so easy to read. I enjoyed how there wasn't a big time back and forth to where it was dragged out. The characters are all well developed which is why it makes for an easy-breezy read. It does, in fact, deal with domestic abuse. According to the NCADV(National Coalition Against Domestic Violence), "Domestic violence is an epidemic affecting individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. It is often accompanied by emotionally abusive and controlling behavior that is only a fraction of a systematic pattern of dominance and control. Domestic violence can result in physical injury, psychological trauma, and in severe cases, even death. The devastating physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and last a lifetime." Hell And Back really makes you look at the issue by enabling the reader to observe the affects it has, not just to 'a' person, but to everyone around said person. Kudos, to the Author. :) (This is my first novel from the Author and I must say, that I am extremely impressed because I am not usually a fan of contemporary romance but I took a chance and am so glad I did!!) Even though the events that take place in this story are brutal, the healing and recovery was definitely sweet & heartwarming, hence, readers are going to fully appreciate. And I want to be clear that am I in no way glamourizing the fact this is a story of abuse, I'm glamourizing the Author for not glamourizing it herself. I mean extreme research must have been given to the psychology in this story. (We really should be applauding the Author for digging deep within herself to write such darkness. I felt and I felt in the strongest way. It had to be strongest for the Author, just saying.) It's found in the horrific aftermath of what's happened and currently happening. You learn who you are from experiences great, good, bad, or just plain nightmares. It shapes your mind, it's what makes you the person who you are. And while I understand Pim’s, I'm dead scared of Mr. Prest’s. He's a mystery, dropping subtle hints, but completely and totally dangerous. I see him as someone kind but his mind is at a battle with his conscious, yet so far, and this is only book one, he's been nothing but the dark hero we've fallen for, especially from this Author, with her deliciously cruel storytelling. But Fear is always present. Fear of his threats. And ultimately, Fear of the unknown. I want to see how these two interact with each other now that they're ‘together’. How they treat each other, the true sides to both monsters. I have no doubt Pim will have a bit of monster in her too, after what's happened. (Hehe, hell yea, I went there.) Im going to say this this…even though ton of bad happens, there's also hope, even though that hope is sure enough going to be twisted, it's there nonetheless. Overall, just brace yourself. I have to say that this book took me by surprise. I read it in a day. And normally, it would've taken me a couple of days, I'm a mother-I'm kind of busy, just not this go around. I'm going to be bold here and say that Krystal Blue is the best book I've read this year. Why? Oh, let me count the ways!! One. It's a page turner. Two. The suspense. Oh my gosh!! It's why I couldn't put it down!! I had to know, just like Crystal. I really felt her struggle. Not only was she kept in the dark, but so was I. I would guess at the unknown and then when its all revealed, I just wanted more!! Three. The story itself is unique. It's a #ParanormalRomance which is not just your average read. This is the story of Crystal & Alveya. These are two young women who are trying to fit in basically where they can get in. For Alveya, it's her family. Events took place at her birth that left her alone and unwanted. She's constantly reminded of why she's alone. Crystal, was thrown into the system when her adoptive mother was murdered. Not only is she different, but she's also gorgeous. Foster parents often resented her for not only her beauty but her being different as well. And since she has no one, who's to tell her who she is, where she came from? Yet, when these two come together, it's freakin' frustrating because Alveya drops hints here and there(with an attitude. #Asshole, hehe). Truth be told, they each broke down the others wall. That, is what made this book. Their love story. Yes, this is a Lesbian romance, my first in the Paranormal genre, and while I don't swing that way, I had no problems with it at all. I mean, it wasn't the main focus of the book. Therefore, it wasn't being shoved down my throat. Even when it did get steamy, it was so tamed!! There was an element of freedom. But more so of self discovery. I enjoyed it, gave it realness, and that's why I read. I'm going to stop there and let you, the audience-reader find out for yourself how great and awesome this book is. I really did leave out a lot but it's only so I don't ruin it for you. So, if you love ParanormalRomance/UrbanFantasy, shifters, witches, and werewolves, and an edgy love story that will keep you on your toes, then Krystal Blue is just for you. (Hehe, that rhymed.) P.S. This is what I've been waiting for!! Yea baby, yea!! #BethAndSkull have GOT to be my favorite MC couple. They went through some shit and shit sometimes just gets the best of us. I remember reading Burned and being a bit pissed off at Skull. Okay, I was fkn mad but I held out hope. There was too much between these two characters to just leave it alone. As my emotions were all over the place, I couldn't imagine myself reading their story any other way. I love this book for the feelings I experienced. The way the Author took me from hating a man to loving him even more than who I thought he was before. And Beth, she definitely grew throughout the series. Not so naive as she once was. I did connect with her and her Mama Bear attitude. We see their love story go from good, to bad, to even better than before!! We've had to endure heartache and pain and in order to get past that, we had to watch these two fall back in love in the name of forgiveness. And it was such a beautiful thing. I am SO in love with this story!! This is the first book from the author I have read, and I must say that I'm hooked. Advance...the theme here would have to be Freedom. Freedom to be yourself. Freedom to just simply exist and live life. Faith, Hope, & Destiny are all test subjects for government experimentation. Only Faith has showed that she's the 'special' one, by travelling(& yes, I mean Time Travel). When she traveled, she lived life, fell in love, and made the ultimate decision to come back and stop Advance Industries. However, the one she fell in love with, came back for her. Kye...Oh, my!! That man is so Alpha!! I loved it!! A little possessive, but overall, I swooned over him. You looking for a new book boyfriend? Kye is it!! He came back to save her, maybe from Advance, or maybe from herself. With Kye's crew and help, they face off against Advance Industries, and while it's not pretty, because I ugly cried, I was held captive to the very end. The ending!! OMG!! Could I have that next book, NOW?? Hehe. I know I'm left with a scary feeling. Although, Kye & Faith are together, what will they face next? Wowza!! The only thing I can say after reading Betrayal by Treaty is Trey Jaden is now a freakin' GOD!! Lol. Maybe not in the sense of having all divine powers but if one were to look just at the outside of things, it would look like Jaden is a GOD. Oh, how I loved this sequel to Under by Treaty!! The Qui Empress must choose between love or duty and the path is not always clear-cut. With war on the brink, a traitor in the midst, and a new alliance being formed to stop war, can Sonil protect Jaden as promised? I can't tell you the answers to that but I will say that Jaden goes above and beyond for Sonil, The Qui Empire, and his home planet, Earth. I, myself, found it enduring and selfless of him. Sonil made sacrifices, too. And it was BIG!! My point, these two belong together. The addition of the new characters played very well into the bigger picture, *ahem* Calad'n. :) Calad'n, too, is just as possessive of Sonil as Jaden is. Of course there's going to be some clashing with those two Alphas. Read to see what I mean. But there at the end...Oh my!! Yassss!! I'm finding myself somewhat jealous, lol. Two alphas fighting for your heart, willing to do anything for you, even die. And it doesn't hurt, only adds, that they're well endowed. The #Swoon factor comes highly into play. That crazy, everything hanging in limbo-ending...Grrr. I couldn't read fast enough. I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that there'll be more stories after this one. A fallen Angel, two badass vampires, and a nerd on the ultimate quest to find the answers of the alien question. Sounds exciting, right? Oh, it is!! If this is your first time delving into the words of Mr. Luedke, you’ll find yourself wanting to know more about these ‘side’ characters, Aaron, Michelle, and Urvashi. I know when I met Urvashi in The Nightlife Series, I was constantly wondering what Urvashi is, why she’s here, and where she came from. She really is an intriguing character, and I may just get my answers yet. The flow and writing is flawless as ever. You’re hooked from the beginning and as always, Mr. Luedke leaves you wanting more. I'd like to start off by saying that this book might not be for everyone due to the content in this story. This story deals with all forms of abuse from drugs, mental, physical, & sexual abuse.
If you know me, then you know I'm not really into the contemporary romance genre and it's because I feel forced to continue through the story when there's no connection, emotions, and no realness there. However, NINE is such a different read for me. I connected with Nine. I can relate to her emotions and therefore the connection was made. I totally swooned over Trig. He's so ALPHA, sexy, & dangerous. Who wouldn't be attracted to that? And he sees right through Nine.

Yes, Nine is a lost little girl, who's had to grow up too fast, too soon. She's suffered & she was rejected by her own blood. Nine has worked her way up from nothing. Then one night is all it takes for her to lose everything, only to gain the one thing she's ever wanted...love. NINE has become one of my favorite dark romances & the author gives you a nice little HEA. It's raw, emotional, & so worth the read. So this story is one big allegory for what we, as in our future generations, will face if something is not done, NOW. Climate change, our water being controlled, our crops as well. This book really makes one think about what it is we're doing to our home, planet Earth. It's sobering. Imagine a world without animals, no life in the sea, or not even being able to look outside at the end of the day and see a beautiful sunset? Would that not make you mad if your daughter or son could not, or even had the chance to see a beautiful sunset? Wouldn't you want them to see how the oceans paint the sky blue? You see where I'm going with this? And what I really loved was how the author even gave the young readers advice and tips on little things that you can do that can go a long way in helping our planet heal. I am so glad I read this book!! The messages are THAT strong that it NEEDS to be shared with EVERYONE. There was also another message in between the lines of this story. It's Love. Not hate. It's just common sense, I guess. And only time will prove that. While there are messages, we couldn't have them without this awesome story. This is the first book from the author I have read & she has a different way with words than most. It truly captivated me in reading more each time I would read. The story held it's own pace, a steady one. I fell in love with more than a few characters. Sam Poe, my favorite one of all. That young man is an Alpha!! He's a stone cold killer but man...when it comes to Anna Rose, he's putty in her hands. *Sighs* I love his brothers. Liem & his twin, Charlie. Of course there were people I had a very strong dislike for and they got their comeuppance. With their comeuppance a sacrifice had to be made. I have a huge freakin' smile on my face. :) Why? The reason is this book!! With Dane & Erin, this being their story but really it's not because of the other 5 men around who all have come to love and cherish Erin. None of them want to see her get hurt especially in the situation that she's in. I honestly could not just choose one. I did like seeing Erin come into her own. From losing her virginity to having the little trysts with some of the guys. As I look at it, it was all part of her growth. Dane had some issues but were solved. It really was funny how he reacted to love. He didn't know what the emotion of love was. I saw him feel it. He just couldn't accept it without looking at what the world has thrown at him. So while Erin is being 'saved' by these generous, loving, protective men, she also 'saved' one of them, too. Honestly, it got me right in the feels. It's sexy, taboo, sweet, & full of Alphas to get those panties melting. I love it. And hey, Brandt's story is next!! Yay!! <3...more

So there's this quote that comes to mind: Sometimes life brings you full circle to a place you have been before just to show you how much you've grown" And this quote is on point when it comes to Angel 6.0: Emissary. This being the last book for our dear Angel & crew, I had a bittersweet vibe. While I'll miss Angel and her pain is pleasure ways, I'm also very happy for her, too!! Of course Angel had the the loves of her life beside her, but as war is descending upon her, she will have to figure a way to keeping them alive as well as herself. It's a lot to take on and in order for her to do it, she'll have to figure out why and who she is. Although, I'm inclined to believe that she always knew it, just never believed it until now. I had my downs and I definitely had my ups with Emissary. Thinking back to the very beginning and where the story has ended, it's been dangerous, sexy, violent, emotional, crazy, and I got to watch a cast of characters grow and I guess that's why it's bittersweet. I will miss reading about them. I accidentally got attached. Whoops!! This Space Opera wrapped up, not as epic and blown out of the water, like I'd thought it would be, (you know Science Fiction & all). The author had a more subtle approach, a believable one, to the end and it indeed came full circle. If you like your Sci-Fi naughty and gory then this series is one hell of a wild ass adventure you won't want to miss out on.
