If I had to describe this book in a few short words it would be: whimsical, eccentric, amusing & entertaining!
You can not easily describe the plot of this book as there really is none. At first you feel as if you could be reading someones diary or listening to many different conversations. Monologue.
I have to say in all honesty it covers many different topics, thoughts & attitudes. It is fictional but at the same time it really get’s you thinking about yourself and possibly how you and your attitude could easily come across to others. It is very thought provoking and I really loved the quirky style in which it was written.
I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy a book with no real beginning nor end, and I mean that in a positive way. For me it was a breath of fresh air, very different from what I typically read....more

It started off a little slow for me but I kept with it because I believed it had tons of potential, it ended up being an incredibly enjoyable, deep story.
The story beings with Stanzie Brocks husband passing away, leaving her with the huge responsibility of managing her late husbands Publication. She finds much resistance from all those around her, especially the Editors In Chief.
She makes huge strides to try and add to and complete her husbands work including wireless electricity but it may not come easily for her…this puts the younger generation against the older generation. Will Stanzie accomplish what she has set out to do?
I highly recommend this book! While I found some dialog to be over descriptive in the first few chapters, I still very much appreciate Pandora’s style of writing in which I personally found unique. ...more

The main characters are Nixie, Kolya, her boyfriend/lover & Morten whom she is pretty much forced to marry due to an inheritance she will receive from her father.
While the characters seem very grown up, they are young and foolish. Nixie decides she can not wait for her inheritance and so the way around it is to have an “older” guardian, well marriage to Morten fixes that.
However, she refuses to let go of Koyla and goes back and forth between the two men. With the money they start a Russian Ballet that turns into a financial disaster mostly due to Koyla feeling he deserved the best of everything.
While Nixie is the main person in the story I feel much was focused on Koyla, his desires, his other lover. It was more so for me that he was asking the question if is it moral to love two women. Lust may have been in play more for both of them rather than love.
While going broke Nixies mother decides to try and find Nixie and spy on her which causes issues. Nixie and her mother don’t have an ideal mother/daughter relationship and it is very strained.
In the end, love does not always conquer all.
While I found some parts of the beginning of the book confused me and left me wondering if I had missed something, it really does come together. I also saw parts of the story differently I think than what was intended, specifically the relationships and especially Kolya.
I really did enjoy this book and I highly recommend it! ...more
