I feel like I know the people in the little town of Wakefield, and I can relate to the small town gossip and the feeling that everyone knows your business. I can also relate to doing whatever it takes to protect your children, and sometimes as a mom, I don't always make the best decision, but it's the one I feel is best at that time. I think Addy and Jake were both selfish, but they were young and needed some life experience and growing up to realize what was what. I loved the humor in this book and the realness of the characters. I'm anxious to know what the authors will write about in the next book, but the possibilities are endless since several side-characters were introduced. Great job on this one! If you like clean stories that you'd see on Lifetime or Hallmark if made into a movie, then pick this one up....more

This is a great short and sweet story that has a touch of romance, a touch of action, a little bit of suspense, and a surprise or two that I wasn't expecting. Add an awesome dog and the warmth of one of the most beloved Christmas songs of all time and you have a perfect Christian read. Well done. ...more

However, the story is good and kept me turning the pages. My heart went out to the women and I love a good Christian story that isn't too graphic. Granted, there were parts that were hard to read, but the author left plenty to the imagination. I will definitely finish this series when the rest is written. Thumbs up!...more

There were parts that were hard to read, and definitely some parts that I didn't see coming. I was page turning and on the edge of my seat here and there, and that's a good thing. Because this is the first book in a series, it ends on a cliff-hanger, so if you don't like cliff-hangers, you might be disappointed with the ending. It didn't really have closure; it just stopped. That doesn't bother me because I know it's a series. In this book, Peterson tackles tough issues such as alcohol, abuse, disease, and murder, but it's not graphic, which I appreciate. I'll be reading the rest of this series. I received a review copy of this book and my thoughts are my own. ...more

I also liked the other characters too, and I could relate to Andrea. The Christian parts of the story weren't over done and only really showed up at the end, so even someone who isn't Christian might still enjoy this story. Everyone--Christian or not--deals with some of the things that Andrea dealt with. I look forward to reading other books by this author if she puts any more out because I really did enjoy the story she created, and I loved the message she sends to the readers. Forgiveness, grace, mercy.... I would recommend this story to anyone who likes to read Christian fiction. :)...more

I also like that the violence is depicted in a tasteful way and the book is clean. It's clean enough to be read by students and not full of sexual stuff as some other Boudicca stories are. If you like history and/or reading about war, conflict, revenge, etc., give this short story a few minutes of your time....more

As a marriage coun"Fifty Shades of Faithful" is a collection of humorous and touching short stories that celebrate the Godly institution of marriage. As a marriage counselor in training, books like these make me want to do back flips! This is the kind of thing to get excited about! If you're married, this is a must-read. Why? Because it talks about sex! That's right! SEX! But not in a perverted or graphic way. Findley does an excellent job with these short stories; each one having its own issue that a lot of marriages face: adultery, abuse, fornication, selfishness, and more. And to add to those issues, these stories have a mixture of surprises. You will laugh, you might cry, but you will definitely turn the pages. And if you're like me, you'll be asking Findley when the next installment will be out. The Christian literary world needs more books like these! Marriage can and should be fun! All marriages will have trials, but there is hope! Do yourself a favor and grab this book....more

Ever felt like all you do is change diapers and clean up messes? Ever feel like you have no purpose outside of being a mommy? Ever looked in the mirror and not recognized your reflection? If you answer yes, you will identify with Susan, who is in desperate need for a retreat. But she's also in need of a savior. Jesus. This book reads a lot like a self help book. There's not a whole lot of dialogue. It's mainly telling versus showing, but that's not a bad thing for this story. The author does a great job getting the reader to relate to Susan. There were times I felt like the author had read my own journal. As a mother of three, this book really helped me. If you're a mom, give it a read. ...more

I agree with some of the other reviews that it's a bit preachy, but I like that part of it b/c I'm Christian, and the author states it has Christian themes. It also is a series, so I expected it to be a cliff hanger. Actually, I don't really classify it as a cliff hanger, but it does just end. Granted, it ends abruptly, but this kind of story could go on forever. It has to end somewhere. It didn't leave me hanging where I feel obligated to buy another installment, although I probably will. Why? The author has a way of grabbing you and her characters seem to have realistic thoughts and actions. I liked Randi a lot. I liked all the characters really. Even Celia wasn't all that bad. She was just not right for Martin. Anyway, if you like clean romance with no sex and no bad language and don't mind conservative views concerning dating and marriage, give this book a read....more
