Ellen Katie, you rock.

Katie I’m an early childhood educator, so I’m pretty well versed in language development, thanks. Not everyone in the store has to hear your words to your child - I’m referring to the loud, Make-Sure-Everyone-Knows-I’m-Doing-The-Most voice that has little to do with language development and more to do with a parent’s ego and stance in the minds of others.

Susie The thing about "Mommy Narration" is that it is actually does facilitate language development. Talking to your baby/toddler is highly recommended by the American Society of Pediatrics: "the quantity and quality of parent–child interactions (how much and how often caregivers talk, read, and sing to their children) are key in shaping healthy brain development during the first few years of life." It just makes sense.
