Jessica When they reintroduced the "boys" who were Chance's previous owners- I knew where they were going as well- and if it wasn't for my recent guilt about abandoning half read books, I would have put this one down as well... Pits have such a special place in my heart (due to the fact that they are so unfairly discriminated against) I could not stand the parts about the dog fighting rings. I wish the author had found a way around having that as a part of the story.

Sherry One good dog book!!! If you love dogs and you love reading , you will want to read this book. The writer gives you a full characterization of the dog. The dog is just as independent as the man he eventually lives with. They are both surprised at the bond they develop.
