Elyse Walters Hi Linda ... thanks - enjoy ! Enjoy! Enjoy!!!!
Olive in her older age — gives us so much wisdom - and truth! I can’t express how much I felt this book. In ways more than the first book. Maybe because I’m older now too??
I love Olive ‘with’ you Linda. 💕💖

Elyse Walters Thank you Toni...you’re going to love this book...
and Shhhhh.... its kinda perfect for our age...
There are scenes that will make you reflect ( and hopefully about how grateful you are for your adult kids - son, daughter in law - in California- ha and maybe me too ( as friends sharing this wonderful book)... xoxoxo

message 17: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Thank you Jeannie- I’m sitting in Philz’s coffee with Paul -nostalgic type music in the background and I keep thinking about “Olive, Again”. You’ll love it!!! 💕🌻💕

message 18: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Holly... thank you - my eyes are almost starting to water I enjoyed this book so much.
I read much of it during sleeping hours ( but was rested) ..the quiet & stillness seemed to really add to the experience of this one for me too.
I think I love Elizabeth Strout more than ever. Somehow it was perfect for me - and perfect timing.
Big big hugs and ‘thanks’ for getting how I felt.
A great gift, Holly!!! Thanks!!!

message 24: by Antoinette (new)

Antoinette Awesome review,Elyse. I loved the first book and can hardly wait to get my hands on this one. Olive is such a memorable character, love her or hate her (as some people do). I love Olive and always wanted more and am so glad Elizabeth Strout has gifted us with another book!!

message 25: by Staci (new)

Staci I’ve not read anything by this author though it sounds like I should. Great review, as usual!

message 26: by Connie (new)

Connie G Great review, Elyse! Olive is not always likable, but it's easy to understand her emotions. I'm looking forward to reading more about her in this book.

message 27: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Hi Connie ... exactly! It’s easy to understand her emotions. I felt really sad for her in several parts that I’m still thinking about.

message 28: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Hi Staci... you’re in for many treats if you want - as all of her books are filled with emotional vigor... and intimacy ...she can make the ordinary feel important to look at straight on.
Her characters are sometimes achingly human.
Love to know your thoughts 💕

message 29: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Antionette- I feel as you - I’m really glad Elizabeth Strout gifted is with another book.
I can’t help but think people in our age group - give or take 20 years - lower or higher will appreciate this book in ways a 25 year old might not.
Its kinda wonderful - too - to age with the authors we love together.

Enjoy your turn!!! Hope you’re enjoying summer. I hear it’s around 50 degrees these days. 🌿🍃🌻🌿📚💕

message 30: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Hi Monica! 💕🌻📚... excites for you to enjoy this too!! Such a gem...
There are several scenes I haven’t mentioned ...some I keep thinking about. 📚🌿

message 35: by Angela M (new)

Angela M Fabulous review, Elyse. I could imagine myself thinking like Olive in many situations, too . I also agree that Kayley’s story seemed odd here. I also agree about what a fantastic writer Strout is !

Elyse Walters Thank you Kaceey! I’ve met to ask you - is there a little story on the spelling of your name? 💕It’s very pretty and unique spelling.

message 40: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Thank you Katie 💕

message 41: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Hi Toni... sounds like a fun full house. I’m coming too! Lol 💖

message 42: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Thank you, Norma 💕

message 43: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Hi Angela... yes & yes!!! It was so affecting...
some of those situations were really ‘felt’...
Sad in other words. But the more I thought about Olive - herself- I get the feeling that she’s always been a woman that ( even in crappy times)... can handle any bone that is tossed at her without completing breaking. But I felt sorry for her a lot in this one.
The baby- in the car kinda made me laugh. I’d hate to be in that situation myself. Lol
Big hugs!! 💕

message 44: by Elyse (new)

Elyse Walters Hi Nancy... I’d send you mind if I could transfer it to you. It will be out soon - and every library will have it!
It’s a perfect book for women in our age group too. Opens up things to think about aging - and our families. 💕
