Somia Okay I am now second guessing reading this book, I am a big NR fan so think I'll just push it down my TBR list. Nice review Jilly.

Thanks, Somia. It has the NR feel all the way through. Tall, thin girl with short hair who is independent and doesn't want a commitment. Charming guy who pushes through her defenses.
So, if you can get through the abuse stuff you'll probably like it.

I just read your review and you nailed it. And, no, Americans don't typically spend money the way they did in this book. Lol! They were buying things like coke dealers on meth.

Haha! That was a lucky(?) find. It really does need to be shared with the world.

Bummer! I kind of hoping to apply for immigration rights to this Promised Land...

Haha! Yeah, it's all gold chains and hookers here. For fun we like to have money fights and make snow angels on piles of gold coins.

Pamela I could not finish it. The truly abused that breaks free of it, and is able to raise a loving family, forgive, and move on does not enjoy others pain, and the triggers. I totally agree. I normally love Nora, or JDRobb. She even does paranormal well. I gave it a three because I kept putting it down. Then quit.

Sharon S This is the best satiric review I've read this year. 😂

Yeah, it was brutal. As a matter of fact I almost quit the book early on. The abuse was just making me miserable while reading and I thought Why the hell am I reading this again? But then I thought of all the great reviews and realized I was just about done with that part of the story and kept going. I wouldn't have chosen to read it if I had known how brutal that part was going to be.

Elisa S. Awesome review I agree with everything you said. I’m disappointed in NR.

Melanie OMG. Screw the book, I want more of your reviews. That was hilarious. I miss Nora Roberts' Bride series.

Yeah, she counts on her fan base to buy whatever she writes so she phones them in once in a while. It's annoying.

I love her In Death series that she writes as JD Robb. That is one of my favorite series out there. :)
