Cat When was this cookbook even published? Do you like the Better Homes Cook books? I got one as a gift but haven't tried anything yet.

Kate It was published in 1957 and then reissued in 2003. I have the Better Homes cookbook (the one with the red and white checks) and I have gotten some pretty decent recipes. One of my favorites is cranberry relish for Thanksgiving. I also remember my mom making a lot recipes from that when we were kids.

Lucia You act like Bisquick is a bad thing. Man, I am deeply saddened by this news. I have always thought better of you. I'll have to rethink this.

I see Betty and Better Homes as beginner books to bounce off from. You will only find the classics, like, say, the candle salad dish and the best basic pie recipe in the world. =)

Kate I don't have anything against Bisquick. It was just every other ingredient in that book. And, have you ever even eaten a Candle Salad dish? Ick.
