Same thing happened with me. It wasn't seven years, but this book was on my shelf for a very, very long time before the good people here urged me to finally pick it up. I'm very happy they did. It's the good kind of peer pressure :)

Hope you'll enjoy them once you read them. I really adore the way in which Riordan writes his books. They are for middle grade but every age can enjoy it.
