Melissa Bartlett You’re brave for stomaching the audiobook! I started and couldn’t do it. I switched to the book and ended up loving it!

Let's just say it's very awkward to listen to in public... so many gory details...

Samantha I just listed to this one through my library’s app and really enjoyed it but I totally get where you are coming from....it’s disturbing and there were moments when my stomach flipped from how gruesome it was, but somehow i still enjoyed it Haha

message 4: by Roos (new)

Roos For me this book didn't feel like a Karin Slaughter book at all. Started it two times but both DNF'ed it. Love her other books though

message 5: by ♡ Dakota ♡ (new)

♡ Dakota ♡ (Sarcasm is my middle name) I audiobooked The Good daughter by her and yeah... some of the scenes aren’t made for public listening. I was trying not to ball my eyes out during that book.

message 6: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Indeed. This is very graphic in terms of sexual violence and violence in general

message 7: by Erin (new)

Erin Emily, I had a hard time with this one too. You're very brave to listen to the Audiobook.

message 8: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Aranda I haven’t decided if I want to read this book, but if I do I’ll stick with the print version.

message 9: by Teodora (new)

Teodora Toncheva I loved this one but I completely understand your view on it. Totally not a book for everyone. As a person that finds thriller to be my comfortable zone when it comes to books, I still found it really disturbing and hard to swallow at points. Which only made me enjoy it even more (omg am I messed up :D )

message 10: by Mandee (new)

Mandee Lei I just finished this on audiobook myself and also gave it 2 stars. The beginning was alright but it just got more and more graphic without any payoff. Very hard to finish for me. It felt like torture p*rn. I'm not sure how to feel about her writing but will try another book by her and see.

message 11: by Naoko (new)

Naoko I am listening to it too and feel like I had enough already at about 50%. I do like some of suspense in the book but violence and gruesome descriptions are a bit too much for my taste. I am considering abandoning it right now.

message 12: by Antonia (new)

Antonia Stručić I didn't like the book, but because of other things. Like, would any mother really abandon her daughter (Lydija) after what they've been trough with Julia?! Would she send letters by Puaul!? How Claire didn't recognize Paul on video tape? And the main thing, we know that Paul shaved his head, but on the end (few days after) Claire removed his hair from his eyes... This book is so unconvincing and inconsistent. I didnt't like it because of that, and it was too long. On some parts it was boring and full of unnecessary details.

message 13: by Emily (new)

Emily Baugh I didn't like this book either. It went on about 100 pages too long.

message 14: by Meg (new)

Meg I'm at the end of this book and totally agree - I feel like it's too long and the graphic disturbing stuff is really hard for me. I really like thrillers but I don't think I will recommend it. Pretty messed up.

message 15: by Allison (new)

Allison Lockwood I agree. I watch true crime on TV all the time with no problem but hearing this book? It was just too much. It was interesting enough but I ended up not listening to the lat 10% of the book because it was dragging on so long
