Anthony Vacca Thanks, Dan. I'm smitten with both of the novels I have read by Lavalle so far. He is a very refreshing voice in horror fiction today.

Becky Man... I wish I could write reviews even half as good as yours. My reviews are like the equivalent of a Hulk smash... There's no subtlety or nuance! But yours... as I was reading this review, I was alternately like "Nah, not for me... Oh wait, this sounds delight-No... OH YES." So now I'm not sure how I feel about this book other than you've made me super curious and want to read it to see what the hell it actually is and how much I might enjoy it.

Anthony Vacca Thanks for the kind words, Becky. I think you should give this wonderful book a chance! There's nothing stuffy or pretentious about it, and the writing is very likable and direct. So as not to spoil the story, I left out a lot of what I really loved about the characters, drama, horror and adventure this book is packed with. It's different, but I feel like this will appeal to Gaiman fans. If you dig audiobooks, the author does a great job reading it himself.

Becky Sweet... It sounds really intriguing! Also it turns out that I already have another of his books on my TBR, apparently because Dan 1.0 really liked it. So... I shall have to investigate this author further.

Ɗẳɳ 2.☊ I bet it's that Ballad of Black Tom book. If so, I got a copy here to lend.

I bet you're right, and I bet I'll take you up on it, and I bet it will be awesome, even though I bet that it will ruin my "Read only from my already owned TBR list" challenge. And I bet I won't even be mad about it that long. :P

Ɗẳɳ 2.☊ You sure are in a gambling mood.

Anthony Vacca I plan on reading Ballad of Black Tom, along with any other Lovecraft fan fiction that catches my fancy, only after I finish reading all of his actual stories first.

Becky MAYBE.

Ɗẳɳ 2.☊ If I remember correctly, I believe Black Tom & Lovecraft Country were 1.0's favorites.
