April Thompson Currently reading this, soon to be finished. This is my first Megan Abbot novel I’ve read, so I have nothing to judge it by; however, I’m not impressed with this at all. I’m totally over books pretending to be “thrillers”. Like, who is this thrilling?

Yeah, none of her books have been "thrillers" to me. I think that term has just become a catch-all. The only category I would put her stuff in is either noir (which I haven't read, but apparently there are several) and "mean girls" because they are all have horrible teenagers for main characters ; )

Eilonwy You're reminding me I need to read The End of Everything -- that's been on my list forever! Even though I am faint of heart.
Great review for this one, too.

Char Awww, I'm bummed! Thanks for the shout out though. :)

I must be in that same boat because as much as I loved the book and Megan Abbott, I was underwhelmed with Kit's overreaction."

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one : )

They can't all be winners . . . but like I said I'll be the first in line for her next book so it's not like it was a total fail : )

Michelle It appears we had similar thoughts on this one, Kelly, and like you I will still grab anything she writes. :)

There's something about her writing. Maybe it's full of subliminal messages???? LOL ; )

Lower your expectations and you will probably enjoy them all : )

Kelli Grrr! I just put a hold on this. I’ve never read her. Maybe Ivwill start with the other one. Major months long book slump here.

Kelli Oh wait, I read You Will Know Me. Not that anyone cares for the clarification, I just don’t wanna lie

Kelly (and the Book Boar) Most of my friends liked this one so you might too Kelli.

Bernie I was SOOOO disappointed here. There were so many gaping character/plot holes, I started to pull away. Why would Serge hide Andy's body? Aren't there cameras all over laboratories which would have captured some of the murder/clean-up activity? And, much more disappointing, WHY would someone as strong, a survivor of parental neglect who worked as hard as she did to rise in her chosen field, fall apart after all those years? Just because her mom's BOYFRIEND came on to her 15 yo friend? I loved THE END OF EVERYTHING, but this makes me re-think whether I will give her another shot...
