That was, indeed, the irony for me vis-à-vis the first book. Marcel would have coughed up de Botton's suggestions like a series of irritating furballs...which I suspect the author knew (subconsciously, at least) and did a bit of reveling in. ;-)

Greg Tymn Interesting. I just happened on a podcast on Simone d' Beauvoir yesterday by Stephen West (Philosophize This!). Somehow, I think this new medium is better suited to understanding Kant and Wittgenstein than the written, overly dense word.

You may be on to something there, Greg. I find myself approaching philosophy through a number of different "delivery systems." This sounds like one to investigate!
