Sue Gerhardt Griffiths This sounds so good, I have it on my 'Want to Read' shelf. I love the early Australian history stories, I really must bump this one to the top of my tbr list. You might want to try Patricia Shaw's books. They started my love of reading early Australian history fiction books.

PattyMacDotComma Great review - I must find this. I loved the books about the Duracks moving from NSW up into Qld and then across the country. I remember them sending one son "back" to tell mum they'd arrived safely - but of course all the backs and forths took months. What a time!

What a time - absolutely Patty. It's so hard to imagine a letter taking months and months to find someone. And there's mention of a trip to London by ship that took 6 weeks (which was considered speedy!)

Thanks Rob. I'm a fan of Greg and have read his other work. This is different, but his writing is still vivid and engrossing.

Greg Barron Thanks again for a wonderful review, Lily. Writing Whistler's Bones was such an incredible journey for me. The level of research was crazy, working off tiny clues and slowly tracking down the facts. It changed my mind about the truth of what happened on the frontier.
Thanks again!

Hi Greg! My gosh - the research I can just imagine. The list at the back shows how many different sources you stitched together.
