Colin Bruce Anthes Splendid review. This is often the case with Shakespeare; one really has to get to know it as a performance before the effect starts to sink in. Plus, it's usually taught terribly. I think a lot of people can relate to this experience with R & J!

Susan Williams You know the saying? "By the time you truly understand the characters, you are too old to play them!!!

Luigi I agree with your first statement i am currently a freshman reading Romeo and Juliet and i find it useless to read about how they fall in love in one night then them getting married after. But , then i see how Romeo and Juliet helps you to see many things like dramatic irony and dramatic language. I also agree with you when you said that You don't know why English teachers assign it to freshman because i feel like adults will better understand it then some freshman .
