Karen You're nicer than I am, this book is completely pointless to the xfiles franchise. But I don't think the author did a terrible job writing-wise. But where is the suspense? Such a strange choice for whomever decided this and its companion book needed to be a thing.

Thanks for reading, Karen. My review for Book 2 was posted at audiobookreviewer.com the other day. I agree, these are pretty pointless entries. The only reason I can think for these book existing is a simple cash grab. If they continue on with the Origins books after this, I won't be bothering with them.

Have you read the anthologies IDW published over the last year? There's some good stories in there. Although a few entries really drop the ball, they're pretty solid overall (and much better than these two Origins books).
