Ok. Thanks, Hilary!
Thanks Maureen, glad you liked this one too. It's a book who's characters have stayed with me. I love the unusual but ideal friendship of people with so mich in common but nearly 100 years apart in age.

That's it Hilary, such an unlikely friendship, but it worked beautifully 😄
It's sad that now, unlike when I was young, children don't go to older peoples houses unless they know them. There's a lot to be gained for both parties from such a relationship.
Lovely review Hilary! Thank you so much for the head's up for this beautiful book. I'm waiting to receive it on Monday. You are so right in how sad it is. What used to be when I was young and could pop in and out of neighbour's homes is no longer possible. We live in a society ruled by the media that quite honestly frightens me.
Thank you Leila, I'm so glad you're reading this one, I thought it was lovely. The parts with Ona and the boy talking were wonderful. Yes, so sad times have changed, I suspect the scouts helping out in this way wouldn't be allowed either these days.
It might be awhile Hilary I keep losing my PC so keeping my fingers crossed it stays alive after its most recent repair.
