Insania But what about Rieux? Don't you think that Camus somehow tries to exalt his personality and- then- what he philosophically represents? If the moral of this wonderfully written story is "search for real man, not saint" then we should recognize Rieux as the embodiment of this endeavor...

well said- i overlooked this in my moderately humorous and possibly slightly shallow review of such a significant work. sometimes my brain just does not plough deeply the furrow of meaning. i'm off to check out your review now!

Insania Oh but I wasn't complaining about your pleasant writing style at all ^^ You made a great work with your review, I just noticed you had not mentioned the very character of the story...I usually write reviews in Italian, but maybe this time I could try to translate it too.
