Eee, this series was...disappointing. I thought the sequel was pretty good, but the last book was awful.

And I agree! I feel like this trilogy would be much better if it were less of a romance and more of a thriller/mystery.

message 2: by Pearl (new)

Pearl Angeli Sorry it wasn't better, Lola. :( Great review though. :)

message 3: by Karla (new)

Karla Great review, Lola! Sorry it wasn't better for you! I hope you enjoy the rest! I still need to read book 3.

message 4: by Rose (new)

Rose I felt the same way about the romance too tbh, but I thought the books got better as the series went! Hope you enjoy the rest of the next book! :)

message 5: by Candace (new)

Candace Robinson I liked the other two books, but they still don't make much sense!

message 6: by Jacky (new)

Jacky I started this book for like 3 or 4 times, but I couldn't get past the first.. 40 pages. It just didn't catch me, do you think it's worth trying again? Does it change or involve the reader more after the beginning?

message 7: by Cesar (new)

Cesar I might be a part of the minority who doesn't like Noah. At all. It handled the mystery part well but the romance took over at some parts. Iwanted more mystery, not Mara being all hot and bothered by Noah who is an absolute douche canoe!

message 8: by Olivia (new)

Olivia I've been wanting to read this for a while!! I need to find it somewhere soon. :D

message 9: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey Gledhill I thought the writing it's self was okay but I just loved how I felt the story was original and not like any other I've read..... Most books these days feel like it's the same story over and over again

message 10: by PameKi (new)

PameKi This has been on my tbr sooo long! I need to read it!

message 11: by Hollis (new)

Hollis wow. I read this ages ago and meant to try it again so I can finish the series but I don't remember anything you've just mentioned. guess I really do need to reread.

message 12: by Liz (new)

Liz Sorry it wasn't a winner for you! I actually really enjoyed this one but it is a different type of read for sure!

message 13: by Mukhlisa (new)

Mukhlisa the first two boooks are awesome but the the ending of the third of books really sucks

message 14: by Sasha (new)

Sasha (seetheworldwithbooks) OMG I AGREE!!! The unnecessary drama in this book is so unnecesary. Iam so tired with mean girls drama and new kid in school. Why do books always have a plot like this? It reminded me so much of Twilight, Hex Hall, The summoning, etc etc. But i couldn't stop.reading about it too. It's hard to put down but drama really got into my nerves. ugh. Stunning review Lola dear!;) U

Everyone pretty much says the same thing about the last book! But I must admit I'm extremely curious to see what makes it bad :D

I actually liked the beginning, so I definitely recommend not bothering with this one, if from the start it didn't catch your interest.

Yes, this is exactly what I wanted, too. I didn't ''hate'' Noah, but I hated how present the romance was, like you.

That's true. Of course the school thing and drama and romance that came with it is not original, but the murder and mystery sure is :)

The drama sure is annoying. It's not like that in real life, as in bitches don't come at you the moment you enter the school, lol. I kinda didn't like how the author made the majority of the students spoiled and selfish. But anyway, thanks!!

message 36: by Lola (new)

Lola Candace wrote: "Great, honest review, Lola! :)"

Lola Zareen wrote: "I just love creepy and mysterious books! I loved this series."

Oh yes. Definitely. With less romance if possible, but yes. I'm glad you did :D

message 43: by Lola (new)

Lola Claire - The Coffeeholic Bookworm wrote: "hmm.. I've heard great things about this book, some kinda horrific which made me want to read it even more. Your review is awesome, Lola!"

Thank you! It's unputdownable, so that's something... I promise you it's not horror that will give you nightmares, but just make sure you read it with the lights on ;)

message 44: by Drew (new)

Drew The second book is my favorite in the trilogy! Nice review! :)

message 45: by Muse-ic ♬ (new)

Muse-ic ♬ awesome review Lola! I agree with everything you said! So happy you enjoyed it :D

message 46: by Zareen (new)

Zareen Khan sounds like you are not romance's lover, are you?

I like romance genre. yes, it gets cheesy in romance book, but what can we do? LOL

Anya (~on a semi-hiatus~) I liked the creepy atmosphere when I read it but the slut shaming made me drop it really fast. Glad it worked better for you, Lola.

Fabian {Councillor} I haven't made up my mind yet about whether I should be interested or not. Your thoughts definitely helped me with leaning to the first side :D Thank you for the great review, Lola!

message 49: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice ~ Confessions of a Pinay Bookaholic Great review, Lola! This book gave me a goosebumps. I find the second book better ;)
