message 5: by Katy (new)

Katy H I can't decide whether to pre-order the hardcover or the Kindle edition! Help!!!

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin I pre-ordered the Hardback. I have to have all of these that I can touch :-)

message 7: by Katy (new)

Katy H I kind of want both...I'm a greedy book monster that way! I love holding these in my hands too though. I always read the hardbacks, then re-read the paperbacks (& gave the hardbacks to my mom - since she & my dad got most of the earlier books for me anyway.) I prefer paperbacks for some reason...I guess maybe 'cause they're lighter(?)

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin I totally get it :-)

message 9: by Ciara Brady (new)

Ciara Brady I pre - ordered HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD when I thought J.K couldn't get any better !!!!!!!!!!!!

message 13: by John (new)

John I don't know if I'm going to want to read this one, but I hope you enjoy it.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin It's okay so far. I'm going to try to be quiet and see if I can finish it in an hour. It's not that long. It's a little bizarre though but it's still okay so far. *Fingers crossed*

message 15: by Rylan (new)

Rylan I feel the same way you do!!! I didn't want to cry but I ended up doing so anyways. I could feel myself get teary eyed throughout the last part of the book especially

message 16: by Bradley (new)

Bradley Yay! Glad to know I'm not alone. :)

I know! God, I didn't think I would cry but when someone appears in the book I lost it. :-( ♥

Your not alone my dear one ♥

message 19: by Bradley (new)

Bradley I actually teared up for Snape in his stoic acceptance of his fate. God that was rough.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin Damn it! I was trying to keep that a secret. Lol, that's why I didn't put it in my review. Oh, who cares. That is my favorite part and that is what made it 5 stars for me. Not a huge part but it made me ball again and OMG! I can't even!

message 21: by Bradley (new)

Bradley It's okay. By this point, the true fans have already read it and cried. :) And those who haven't read it will wonder what the fuss is about, will get it, and then cry.

We don't care about the rest. :) Right? ;)

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin That's right. But OMG!! I can't even. That part broke me. Crying before bed, just what I needed. I wish he was here to have read that part *sob*

message 23: by Christina (new)

Christina I'm jealous!! (still waiting on my pre-order to come in the mail...)

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin They suck at times! I'm sorry. :-(

message 27: by Sushi (new)

Sushi Ohhh yes that was one of my favorite quotes as well :D that ending left be shattered too...Maybe what I need is a reread.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin It was sooooooo sad that part. But it was bittersweet too ❤

message 29: by Masooma (new)

Masooma Remarkable review, Melissa. <3

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin Thank you so much hon ❤

message 31: by Aileene (new)

Aileene Oh you loved it. I'm glad you loved it, sweet Mel :)

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin Thank you so much sweetheart. It wasn't the greatest but the most special parts that got me made it 5 stars baby.

Although, the asshole trolls on Amazon are giving everyone that likes it unhelpful votes. I have 5 and one friend went in there and gave me a helpful one. Not sure I'm going to keep doing reviews on their if Amazon lets that kind of shit go on!

message 33: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Hiller This makes me happy. Not even so much because you liked the play, but because I have been reading about your reader fatigue.

The fact that you got this kind of joy and emotional response from something is great! That's what we hope for when we put pen to paper, fingers to keyboard or trod the boards. We hope to stir the heart or the mind.

Sometimes both.

Congrats on finding the spark again. May the fire be catching.

Oh noes, they are indeed trolls if that's the case.
I've only posted two or maybe three reviews on Amazon though.

Awww, thank you. That brought a big smile to my face :-)

Well, i just signed in to my amazon and gave you a helpful vote to help countract the ass-trolls. (I'm hoping you're the same Melissa...)

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin Awww, well aren't you sweet :-) yeah, my Amazon reviews are linked to my blog. I mean I have a link on my blog. Geez. I have my dog that passed away as my profile picture and my name is Melissa Martin's Reading List Blog. I know it's not original but blogspot picked it for me somehow and I never changed it ugg

Maybe that's the one silver lining with my book's slow unrolling. I've only received two negative reviews so far (18 positive ones).
I've avoided what lurks beneath the bridge and highway.

Mind you, I think the 2 negative ones were sincere and not trolls, but that's the wonderful and instructive thing about art. We don't always agree. and it doesn't matter in the least when we don't.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin I think Amazon needs to take away unhelpful votes. There is no sense in it and it hurts people's feelings.

Note that want me. I only have one helpful vote against the 5 trolls from a friend that voted helpful this morning. But most everyone that loved the book are getting them and the trolls are giving all the likes to people that hated the book. There are so many rotten people in the world that need to get a life and quit making other people feel bad. Oh well, karma :-)

message 42: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Hiller I think worse than that.. it gives a false impression of the book. I do consider Goodreads, Amazon, Yelp, Rotten Tomatoes, etc. when I'm on the fence.

I want to believe those are honest responses to whatever I want to learn about whether book, movie, restaurant or other. Now, I do expect a little filler. I expect the chef to like his own restaurant. I think there's nothing wrong with the owner thinking they have the yummiest desserts. However, if you have a group of people artificially pumping up and trashing something that's different.

Writing is hard. Any art is hard. Emerging above the white noise in itself is very difficult.

I've worked as a reporter with public radio for ten years. I've got callouses. I like criticism. I never enjoy bullies or trolls.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin Bullies and trolls are not to be tolerated. There is no point to that kind of behavior.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* I rarely review on Amazon myself. I put some quick thoughts on random products mainly. I had moved all my old movie reviews over there and had some very old book reviews, and so many were voted as unhelpful. It's usually if I didn't give the movie or book a four or five star. It's too discouraging to mainly get negatives for giving an honest opinion. I also don't like their weird policies about friends with authors and being paranoid about it.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin I really am thinking of giving it up with the exception of movies and random weird things I get that people mostly don't care or like. The movies are a bit iffy too with trolls.

I don't understand why people in the world just can't be nice but alas, that is the way it is :-/

message 46: by John (new)

John What other people think about something you've done doesn't change what you've done or why you did it. And it shouldn't change how you feel about it. If you like doing reviews then keep doing them. If you do them for "likes" then ask yourself what "likes* are really worth.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin Thanks hon :-). It just hurts my feelings those Amazon trolls but to hell with them right :-)

John Melissa wrote: "Thanks hon :-). It just hurts my feelings those Amazon trolls but to hell with them right :-)"
Right! Just imagine how miserable their lives must be if they feel the need to hurt strangers in order to lift their own self-esteem.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin That's right! Well you just made my day. :-D

message 50: by John (new)

John Matsui I'm sooooo glad to see you loved the book. It's sort of our private [or not so private] happy ending to a long love affair with the HP series.
