The cover makes me think of Spirited Away.

Bradley If only it had followed that vein! But Spirited Away was a brilliant story in its own right. It would be completely unfair to any novel trying to follow in its footsteps. :)

Okay. Now that I think about the cover in relation to the tale, there is only a sense of happy-ish days. The writing really tries to let us feel it, even if the particulars are a bit dark.

I guess I can see why they chose the cover, to draw us in to a pastoral idea, but nearly starving to death and living with rags is the real synthesis of the novel. ;)

Bradley Survivalism!

Granted, my opinions on survivalism is informed from running from zombies and hoarding bullets, but I'm of a certain school of thought. :)
